3.2k DPM on a mobile chassis, with some gun depression. That 120mm is so nice. The big gun has the same handling, but fires slower.
Well the accuracy is good for a derp too. I find even with the DPM gun that enemies tend to get into cover after a hit before even the 120 can reload so you aren't getting too many second shots in due to dpm. Sometimes, especially if you use the great accuracy to go for the track on that first shot it can work. But at Tier 9 most players take one for the team and bugger off so the Alpha gun is a better choice (usually). The trick is to use the standard ammo. It provides a consistent damage output and is a fraction of the cost. Save the HESH for the right moment (you know, flanks and rear shots, weak armor tanks, etc). Tbh the regular HE is ok and will do everything the HESH will 3 out of 5 times. HESH on the mighty Shitbarn is 8800 for 1956 alpha. On the Conway it is 7700 for 770 alpha, not a good deal. one non pen HESH for 200 damage and AP is now ahead in the damage totals by 400 per shot and 6500 credits cheaper per shot.
TL;DR use the big gun, fire AP, profit.

In my opinion from personal experience with this tank, derp gun for fun, other gun for serious grinding.
Conway is an amazing tank especially with the big gun and plenty of HESH rounds. I managed to two mark it on the way to the shitbarn. Right now, with the nerf of the FV i think i am going to be buying the Conway back.
I bought it like a 2 weeks before nerf hammer to Fv4005.... It's collecting dust in the garage ever since. Not sure if I want to play it if I'm not going further in line. Especially when in not sure I'm gonna like the Conway
Mittag I loved the Conway, it’s actually a pretty good TD. Can compete with tier 10s (which is important) and is powerful in its own tier, and shits on people -2 mm. Gun handing is decent, doesn’t derp as much as I feel the Chinese and German tds do. Also quite mobile. Very good tank for me, u will enjoy it. Only bad thing imo is that the gameplay is different from fv4005
I find for the cost that the standard AP are fine as they are a fraction of the price of the HESH and do a very consistent 660 alpha. All it takes is one non pen with HESH for the damage total to swing in the favor of AP. I only carry a few HESH for side/rear shots, shooting at range at weak armor, or when being yolo'd by most LTs. (contrast the Shitbarn; 8800 credits for a HESH round doing 1896 average damage to the Conway at 7700 credits for 770 alpha average -not a good value).
I grinned threw the trashbarn, I one marked it and I soled it. I bought the charioteer back
I tried both tanks after the nerf and i find the conway waay superior in dpm mobility and consistency in damage with HESH- somehow the fv trolls me so hard with 0 damage shots on lights and mobility is a death sentence once you get spotted

I'm really enjoying it as a tank, haven't got the derp yet but am looking forward to trying it. Also since there is no "stock" gun its pretty good from the start since you get the 120mm right from the get go.

I was afraid of this tank on my way up the tech tree, seeing it being called a crap tank by many CCs. Also I'm a weird player that liked the Challenger while I ouldn't manage Charioteer (the one everyone seems to glorify)?!? I'm having a blast now with Conway, changing guns around as I feel, still the smaller gun is more competitive as you do have a good cheap HESH when needed and the gunstats are much better and you have a full turret.
Of course, my ultimate goal is the trashbarn, but I feel I might return to Conway with a fresh crew as it does the job really enjoyably. And no, you shouldn't rely on armor, although it will take less punishment from artas than a WT type of tank.
Yea the challenger was a fun 3 mark, charioteer was a good 3 mark and is one of my favs. Conway is a beast it was a decent 3 mark. But oh Boi, the fv4005 shit barn. Dam that thing is trash
Same here. I think the Challenger is kinda simmilar to Conway. I just hated Charioteer's gun handling and the stock grind had me nearly killed.

@@YungEagle3k I will eventually get shitbarn, but I most probably expect to revert to Conway cause if I want to play a low mobility no armor horrible gunstats derp "fun tank" I'd rather take my KV2-R (the premium where HE won't change) so that I actually earn and not lose credits playing.... also arta in its tier will not pen me 95% of the time, while in shitbarn it's vice versa
Charioteer is a beast tank! The trick to make high damage is to stay hidden at good spots and don't move. You can easily pump every game above 3k damage because it's mobile and flexible
Conway was a mix of Charioteer and FV4005 (slower, bigger, but good gun handling). It was harder to master, but if you had the opportunity to track, say bye bye to the enemy
FV4005 is complicated. It is not trash, but heavily inconsistent. Either you do 0 damage or 5k + more in matches depending on how good you know the maps. People say you have to spam gold but this is wrong. With the right combination of AP against heavies and sometimes for TDs and HESH against everything else, you can be the vital tank in your team. To play good in this thing, you have to wait for the right timing and sometimes push with the heavies. So many people underestimate the hits of this tank. It can easily break crucial tank parts increasing reload or mobility or kill crew members. Hell, even if you just show up in front of them, they will be scared and immediately turn back giving your team an opportunity to push further

It's generally forgotten, but it's a lovely flanking tank for it's Tier.
@@Grumpy_old_Boot exact, I got almost all t10 I want or can't buy them, no I go back on tanks I sometime missplay.. Bad crew, don't play well at start, no prem account or ammo, etc.. (for example, my first 10k battle were played without prem ammo and consumables and nearly without vents or rammers on tanks I was grinding, except those I use for training crews (pz38t was one of my favorite for germans). It take me some time to réalisé I can put extinguishers on my tank, at start I thought game was not that arcade and don't look videos or even read rules... Bush mechanics, HE, etc etc... Only when in a clan after getting my first t8s I put money in game...

yeah, it can be good fun to go back and play some of the old tanks .. like the flatpanzer (the Tier 6 German TD, aka the Jagdpanzer IV) … I remembered it as horrible, turns out it was me who was a bad player, it works just fine. 😁

i played with jagpzIV recently with an average crew, then sold it again...nothing great but good gun in t6..But i was a bad player for sure, not very much better now but thx to skill videos, i m better..(other videos help, but skill for me, got the spirit +the hability, i dont got the spirit , i m not patient, and i rage quite fast.. :) dont like losing, except against better than me. It s the same for all, wargames or sport..
this was my first tier 9 and i've played many games in it. the vents and brother in arms are necessary to make it work as you have. on paper this is one of the most amazing tanks in wot. reality is it can be real temperamental where like in your first matches a couple shots derped into the ground instead of where you were aiming. i've had battles where 1 in 3 shots do this. it is a fun tank when the stars align.
and tea really helps.
Charioteer, Conway and FV4005 got buffed at the same time and got additional gun options.

Of all the tanks I have played, the Conway is my ALL TIME favorite. Love this tank. I am working on my fifth crew skill. 99% of the time I use the big gun and have great results. I typically use HESH when I am up against tanks I cannot penetrate with standard ammunition. The HESH will still do some damage. Not a lot, but it gives the enemy cause to think before advancing. I am not an up in your face duelist. I am a solid bush wanker, but a pretty efficient bush wanker at that. This tank can hit pixels at long range. One more time. I absolutely LOVE this tank!!!!!!!
I actually really enjoyed the Charioteer and Conway they were surprisingly good for me. I’m not surprised Skill ended up liking it, I’m actually surprised you originally didn’t like the tank so I’m glad it worked out.
Hey Skill. The Conway is one of my favorite tanks. Always use the deep gun. I might try the 120mm after seeing this. Struggling to get my 3rd mark on it.

I always lean toward the sniper/dpm gun over the derp guns in general. Just my gameplay. Skill4ltu, I'm kind of into language and was amused/marveling at your English. I played the Conway when the derp gun was not available yet, so I only have experience with the 120 mm. I really enjoyed it. The most fun out of any other tank in that line for me. The DPM on it is just B-E-A-Utiful. pew pew pew pew and boom there's 3-4k damage like no tomorrow. Since I have mostly played British tanks the mobility was absolutely fine for me and armor could make some magical bounces. Overall it was a blast to play it and to still keep it. However I should try it out with the derp as well to try out a different playstyle.
Not hidden gem. It is a powerhouse for a t9. Very good with 120.
Conway is sweet! Dat dpm! My most damaging game was in it! Over 7k damage on new Derpenberg map.
Big gun is just meme gun, and good only on maps like Ensk and with hesh ammo.
To play well with this tank you need to know positions in the maps, if you get spoted in a bush its GG only 150mm on the turret front, but dpm rocks in this tanks, thanks skill
I did grind the line completely f2p without skipping with free experience, so i had to play everything stock and slowly unlocking all the guns. I found that the conway was the most enjoyable, playing it like the wt auf pz iv, thanks to his speed, his gun and the turret! I hated the backward moving archer, the achilles was just a little more enjoyable than that, the charioteer was not dealing fun damage and i don't remember anything else. Conway was the most fun to grind of the tree. Also, i remember the turret being butter-made. Or maybe was it the charioteer? Anyway, nice vid as usual, Skill.
Conway is amazing. Both guns are fun and effective to play with. The weird thing is you don't have much armor except for the mantlet which can be trollish for the enemy to pen sometimes
Personally, I really enjoyed the Conway when I ground the line. The Charioteer and the Conway both were considered weak back then. This was years ago when the line came out. I'm buying it back after watching this video because I havent played with the updated guns. They look veeeerry nice.

Compared to Torto I enjoyed more this tenk. While I was grinding the vehicle characteristics changed so I know older and "newer" Convoy. Short, I really find both guns and the platform decent. In most cases gund handling and flexibility were quite good. Grinding FV4005 had not been torture for me. Thank you Skill
Skill I honestly couldn't get the Cherioteer to work, I just sucked in it. So I free xp'd the Conway and I find it a little bit better but I'm still using the stock gun, love how you uploaded this video the day after I unlocked the Conway
Im currently grinding this vehicle and i must say i prefer the stock gun more. The shell velocity for the standard round and the hesh is really good.
I play this tank like it's the scorpion g's big brother. It is highly underrated imo
DPM with the regular gun was funny on Conway, but the gun-handling sometimes was really terrible. Did not try with the derp gun though.

The Conway for me was the 1st tank i enjoyed to play in this line and having the same gun as te Super Conqueror is just nice. Permatracking for days...
Try it with the small gun - 5000 dmp and a turret without limitations.
once you get to Charioteer, it's already great... after the rework, even Challenger is cool with the 280, so stock Charioteer isn't bad either, but then that top gun is actually Cent AX gun with nasty HESH, which is awesome, then you have Conway with the derp, also fun to play, and actually FV is the weakest of them, but we play it just for occassionally shitting on people :D
I kinda enjoyed Challenger, the old one, but my Charioteer simply refuse to work any way. It might be because of stock gun, yeah...

anny idea on the archer before the achilles? i like the achillis but hated the challenger, charioteer is nice though. conway seems to be a batter charioteer.
I enjoyed the tier 8 9 and 10 in that line. The Charioteer is epic, like a Comet with a really bug main gun. The Conway was decent, I used the lower alpha gun. I enjoyed the American T30 more.

I quite like Conwoj with 120mm gun. I don't like derp too much, but it can be fun at times.
I just got this tank a few weeks ago and funnily enough i have aced it on my 15th and 19th battle with 6k dmg, with now consistently pulling 2k-3kish game. The thing i like bout conway anyway is sometime the gun feels like a laser and other times it is bad. And like skill i thought it would be a painfull tank but, man i was a bit wrong cause Conway has had delivered me some juicy game and at times absurd HESH Pen.
I think it's as close as we can get to a tech tree counterpart of the Skorpion. It's kinda fast, has turret, shit camo, big alpha...
Had a good moments with the conway, still a good tank on my opinion, still amazing to look a monster like u playing WOT :D

Looks so good when you play it, but I experienced really bad gun handling, which ruined the fun completely.
I did not really enjoy this tank until i got the big gun, then i had lots of fun with it.
The Conway's gun mantle never seems to work for me, but I bounce on them 50% of the time when I play against it.

I was not looking forward to this line at all. However I found all the tanks fairly good fun to play but... I love the Conway with the Derp. I have unlocked but not purchased the Shitbarn (I already have the Death Star) because I enjoy this tank so much.

Conway since the buff is much better, sadly had to grind through it before the buff and derp gun.

I played it with a big gun, but I don't think HESH is worth it. It doesn't do much more damage and it can often happen that you don't penetrate.
I like Conway too.I realy like FV4005 yes it does have awful turret bit i like to one shoot tanks.I like Conway with bouth guns, i like Charioteer so much.And Challenger is great tank.Entire line of British tureted TD-s is amazing to me
I am grinding this tank right now, my opinion is that it is no comfortable to play. I kind of have to convince my self to press the "Battle" button.
I am also grinding the Strv and Obj704, I am a lot more comfortable with those tanks, and the T30 can be frustratingly inaccurate but I had a lot of fun grinding that one.
Seeing you play with Hesh makes the tank a bit better, but personally I don't like to use gold ammo, I actually put only 2 shells in every tank I play, apart from auto loaders which get 1 clip.
As a mediocre player, my rating of this tank is 6/10, I am thinking of switching the vents with a gun laying drive, maybe that will be better for the big gun. And I didn't have better results with the small gun, but that was probably my skill level

I hated this tank with the small gun and couldn't do much more than 2k damage per battle. The gun requires you to stay close to the enemy as it can't snipe (or maybe with food it can, idk) and I wasn't comfortable with such a big and easily penetrated tank staying in the front lines. Everything changed with the big gun. My DPM was lower, but at least I didn't have to constantly pop and shoot, I could take my time. Also I felt like RNG was better on the bigger gun? But maybe I've just been taking more time to take my shots, idk. Cutting to the chase, I started having battles with 4k dmg done regurarly and my top damage was 5.7k (which is very high for me), I even tried doing the TD 6k dmg mission with this tank which I've been trying to do for the last year or so but with no luck (finally I did it in my T30, but it's another story). So the small gun sucked for me hard, and the big gun was really good!
Edit: I played the big gun with AP mainly and only rarely used HESH.

I liked it with Derbgun much more then with standard! So thats my opinion also, jeah it suxx if u dont pen but its like Heaven when u pen ;-)
I really liked this tank with the derp gun. But it's not worth the grind anymore... FV is a pile of ... after the nerf.
