Thousands of students who are aspiring doctors are suffering due to the NEET exams. This time, protests are not just confined to Tamil Nadu but have spread to Delhi, Haryana, Pune, and many other places as well. Numerous cases have been filed against NEET in courts.
One of the primary reasons for introducing NEET was to prevent corruption and ensure fairness in the admission process. However, the reality has been starkly different. The controversy this year began even before the NEET exam was held on May 5, with reports of leaked question papers at at least three centers. My opinion is the University have to be all rights to choose their potential students. The University or the state Govt have to decide their way of intake according to local socio-economic situation of state. The Govt of TN tried entrance examination already and scrapped it after DR.Ananthakrishnan committee report. Based on this report, students from rural and poor in towns were affected by this entrance test b'cos the availablity of coaching center and cost of this coaching. After eradicate the entrance exams level playing field for everyone was improved.
Centre should not interfere in state issues.
The gradual degradation and unethical practices in the selection process has drastically deteriorated the entire healthcare system.

NTA had lost its credibility. The present team is to be dismantled immediately, action to be taken against them & new team has to be selected.
Abolish NEET and give the rights back to states for medical exams, like how it was before 2016.
To the States, but with stricter rules and regulations from not being vulnerable to the bureaucracy and politicians. These people have no business in education. Decentralised systems are more democratic. Education is best left completely to the states. Hindi shouldn't be forcefully imposed on others. Hindi can never be an all India language without a link language. India is many nations in one nation.

The entrance exam, instead of the subject based, it should be aptitude assessment Test. (Like the SAT test of USA). College admissions should be based on the both, the result of this aptitude teat and the subject marks scored in the school. The weightage given to these two results can be slightly varied based on the credibility of the school level exam. This will ensure that children give importance to school exams also.
No.... US has scrapped SAT requirements for many colleges due to its shortcomings. Why should be adopt something that's already considered a failure in other country.
The students have to study multiple courses the new entrance exam.
The current state exams don't have any issues, quite standard. Central govt institutions have their own exams too.
Admissions based on board exams would do.

Oh here comes the anti neet propagandists.well,neet is definitely not neat but that in no way undermines the absolutely necessary exam.infact, jee mains is being conducted smoothly by this same nta,so we must demand the same for neet.let the nta conduct a CBT ( computer based test) for neet too.We need tech savvy medical professionals too.let us not make the dreams of politicians come true by rejecting neet altogether.Politicians are closely bound together with private medical colleges as almost all of them are owned by them.

You fail to look at one point ma'am. When neet was introduced most experts welcomed it. But now what happened I will tell you. Before 2016 some colleges collected 50-70 lakh capitation fees + yearly 10 lakhs tuition fees. But now they've converted that into white money meaning, every year they're charging 20+ lakh as fees, so for 5 yrs they get 1 CR. This is where purpose of NEET exam is defeated. @vijayasaraswathy3894
Very childish m, stereotypic argument.
The admission to give medical colleges are thru merit based reservation. My family is in EWS category, first doctor in India to govt medical college happened in 80s. The fees was few hundreds.
I have a cousin who got into famous private medical college in merit category, where the private university offers scholarships to top ranking students in 2004. Fees was few thousands of course. Payment seat in same college was around 20L at tat time.
With NEET, the pass mark is just around 13%, just scoring bare minimum marks would be enough to seek admission in private medical colleges. Where is the standards here?
I agree 100% ! The push to give the entrance exam back to the states is no surprise given that it is the private medical colleges that took donation money that have been affected due to NEET.
@@sushmitaupadhya5583 This used to be the case 7 years ago ma'am. Now they have found a way to bypass this system. Earlier they were collecting 60 lakh as donation+ 10 lakh year yearly fee, they'd make 1 CR. Now what they have done is increase yearly tuition fees to 20 lakh per year. There in lies the problem, when they do this they bring us back to square one. Private colleges fee should be regulated regardless of NEET or state entrance

cancel NEET UG immediately;y. Gov will not cancel to hide its incompetence. Canceling will put GOI in a pathetic situation, so to save their face, they are not canceling and making it appear as if nothing serious happened, but it is SERIOUS. When papers were leaked, how come an exam be allowed to happen> Nowhere in the world will this happen. CANCEL NEET UG> All marks and results are unreliable.

Your episode on NEET sounded more like a political commentary against the establishment than having a flavour of 'let me explain' about issue. Maybe there is a learning from the content & neutral tone in the episode on the same subject on 'cut the clutter' in THE PRINT.
