Unpopular opinion : Sonic Advance is better than any of the original trilogy. This is coming from a big Sonic fan, and I haven't played Advance 2 or 3 so can't comment on those. I'd always thought that Sonic 2 or 3 was the best, but coming back to this video I remember so much of this game. The soundtrack, the graphics, the level design, the new mechanics, it's all top notch and very memorable. Sonic Mania whilst still an amazing game, took the series a step backwards compared to Advance imo. The old Sonic formula gets old after a while, I always get bored while playing the original trilogy and Mania. This stays fresh though, and the future of the series should be following it's example. It moves the series forward whilst still staying true to the originals, and they haven't done that again since.
36:00 - 36:23 i got a flash back from sonic 1 on the master system when you get the inadvisability on top of green hill act 1 then pick up the speed shoes at the bottom, hearing the speed up version of the inadvisability jingle really makes me smile.

Axel's Great paradox it actually kinda is the best. It beats sonic 1 and 2 by a lot. It goes toe to toe with sonic cd and sonic 3, and is definitely sometimes better than them
