It and he are at war, and he is vowing to hunt it down, no matter the cost, which Is seen through his ageing face. that he has devoted everything to this hunt
There's so much tasty symbology in this video, like at 1:20 the real world and the reflection slowly changing places; at 2:16 the merman Ahab having a scar over his heart; at 2:27 the clouds gather and the sky turns black, and the waves go from white lines to red, showing that the ship and its crew are now all fully in his world of obsessive delusion; and finally at 4:00 he sees another version of him, the man that he could have been if he hadn't let his need for revenge drive his thoughts and actions, his last moment of clarity before his obsession overpowers him.

As a literary nerd it's really fucking funny to me how the literally unreal amount of technological leaps the Whaling Industry underwent almost immediately after Moby Dick came out and the ensuing trivialization of the process+whales becoming endangered turned the books theme from a parable about trying to enforce punishment upon literally God for his transgressions and the futility/nobility/insanity of belief in impartial justice for all to one about a crazy man obsessed with revenge to an unreasonable degree.
The drums. Dan's vocals. The choice of the old-timey square frame ratio. The portrayal of only showing the sailor's face as opposed to the others. The freaking visuals. This is stunning and awesome.
This is incredible. The music is stellar and major props to Shoocharu for all of the imagery. All of it with the flashes of lightning, the damned souls grasping at the hull of the ship as if they were crossing th eriver styx into the land of the dead, the mad look in Ahab's eyes and the blood of his sworn enemy flooding down into his hand. I love this so much: I miss guitar forward rock!
The sound production is interesting, the vocals are treated as another instrument almost blending entirely in the mix.
Amazingly well done, I'll be watching this closely
The animation and lyrics are incredibly powerful
Danny's voice has such a classic prog rock quality to it, it works amazingly with this style
This is like hearing Vinny do the serious vocals for Red Vox. I know who it is, but it's so alien at the same time.
Absolutely phenomenal work guys. Fantastic animation from the man Shoocharu and an amazing song to go along with it! Can’t wait to see what you guys have in store for the future!
Gods, this is awesome! The band's whole concept of classic literature is intriguing, the song itself is dope as hell, the art and animation are stunning and dramatic! There's so much to love here! Great job!
I’ve already lost count of how many times I’ve rewatched this. Amazing song as always, Danny!
This song consistently gives me goosebumps. Been listening to it on repeat and it's incredible. The animation is equally moving, some moments in particular give me shivers. The audio mixing is absolutely spectacular too.
Shout-out to the live chat, what a blast! So excited for the rest of this album
Actually chilling. I’m obsessed with how haunting Danny’s voice sounds in this, and with the effects it sounds echoey like a nightmare. Breathtaking.
Phenomenal rift! Can't wait for the album. Clearly made with passion!
