It is really good to see both of you still making videos. I watched most of your videos during lock down. Now I came back to see more. This is very enjoyable for me. 🧡

Someone needs to make a full length feature with your artwork and I can't believe it hasn't been done already!

What a lovely conversation. Especially loved the end bit about Mucha and being an artist. Thank you. Aloha, Flaven

My feeling about attempting seriously to be an artist (including all the arts but particularly thinking about music, the only one of which I have actual experience) is that before you persevere in the face of truly daunting odds and obstacles, you need the fortitude of knowing you have the stuff inherently to make what you’ll likely endure worthwhile. You can’t measure creativity objectively, and you can’t trust anyone else to understand if you’re attempting something new, so you’ll have to rely on your own judgement as far as that goes. You can, however, measure technique objectively. Enroll in courses and see how you stand in relation to your classmates. If you aren’t the best among them in the real nuts-and-bolts of the technique of your art, you’re probably not good enough. If your technique is highly praised and your creativity is dismissed (assuming you yourself are confident of it), you’re probably on the right path-but it won’t be easy. If your creativity is too easily assimilated, too glib, too facile, it’s probably not truly original and thus less worthwhile.
