absolutely brilliant. I get ever more impressed by these guys and their musical skills. Ive been listening to pop, rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass, reggae and soul for 50 years now. I have to say these guys shocked me. Never believed I would hear original music like this again. They remind me of a fledgling Beatles. The harmonies are sublime. The song writing and the passion for the work are unparalleled today.. Wow..
Very well put. I have not had a favorite band in many years, if ever. I can say I love these guys more than any band I've ever listened to. My 2 year old can sing along with every song on the first album. I love how they perform their songs damn near identical to the record except for a couple of minor changes. They know their parts and they know them well.
Did u try radiohead? could take some time to get into it but esspecially for people who also like jazz and let's say " more complex music " they're great, because there's so much to discover while listening thousends of times! and very important im not talking about creep and this kind of songs (mostly the most popular songs)
It's an amazing feeling listening to "MIGOS Young Rich Niggas," then transitioning to such peaceful indie-folk. The world truly has very breath-taking bands.
Lut Testelmans I don't understand dutch. It's so bad for me... And I don't think we have that kind of radio in Wallonie. I especially thought of Classic 21. I hate this shit, too much hits from the superstars Beatles or AC/DC. So sad.
I really miss the old Homecoming Heroes from their old KEXP session. I don't know, this one's good, but that old one was one of my favorite tunes ever. I hope they still play that one from time to time.
Hey, would you happen to have a link to the original Homecoming Heroes? I haven't had the chance to hear that version and from the way you're describing it, it sounds like I'm missing out
Loved the group at the Hollywood Bowl on August on August 10....they "warmed up" for Glen Hanson.....for me a revelation and I did not need any other music after that....they made our evening. Their songs have great hooks and they keep playing in our mind.... Homecoming Heroes, Another Story, Springtime, Summertime, Josh McBride, and Shake were my favorites. Ethereal vocals and warm instrumentals..... Apart from the heartfelt sound the band 's performance was also candy for the eye.
check out www.soundcloud.com/thewesternsettlers , this is my band, i am heavily influenced by the head and the heart and blind pilot, death cab, they've inspired me to move to the west coast
This will always be better than their new stuff. The first 2 albums will always be better than the rest. The lost their heart when Josiah left. So did their quality playing live. I miss the songs you could play for a small town bar.
Their drummer and bass player are far to good to leave out like they did last time. Dig their new album so much and after seeing them live last week have been rocking their OG one as well.
Hi it's KEXP from the KEXP studios in Seattle you're tuned in to 90.3fm KEXP, online around the world at KEXP.org and I am vibrating with excitement in the KEXP studio; it's the Head and the KEXP! Welcome to KEXP what are you going to play for us? KEXP
I can't get into their new album? Am I the only one? (It took me a few weeks to get into Edward Sharpe's new one, but now I love it.) Do I just need to keep listening?
Damn, that Guild guitar is a thing of beauty. Anyone know what it is? And can you send us one?! We're covering their Winter Song (not to be confused with Lindisfarne's Winter Song, which we're also covering!)
Gregg Iddings Ah yes - thanks Gregg. I've looked it up now. Looks vintage that one, doesn't it. But no more guitars for The Window Trees for a while - a very generous Santa brought us a Gretsch Electromatic 5420t (in aspen green - nice) this Christmas and similarly that has changed everything - suits our, 'cos we can get the twang and the FilterTrons have good gain but it you knock it back it almost sounds acoustic. Not a "real” Gretsch, but we're not that rich!
It was amazing! Oklahoma is a town FULL OF COUNTRY MUSIC, so bands like this we, get to see at smaller venues. They aren't as popular here, so I got to see them up close on stage. Afterwards, most people left. I'd say out of a room of maybe 300 people, 20 people including my mother and I stayed behind and waited near their bus. Met everyone expect the drummer, lol he was skateboarding in the back lot. Charity is so sweet! My mom literally started tearing up when she saw her (she loves this band btw), and Charity started tearing up when she saw my mom. And my mom goes, "Can I hug you right now!" Haha!
errrrghhhh... the lead singer tuning his guitar at 5:00 buggered the second song for me :( .... maybe it's just me, but the second song would've been soooo good if he tuned his g string on point! Love this band!
Josiah, please come back. (baby, so SAD, the POTUS for PArDON! right you should be able to pardon yourself, which you obviously, for the impeachment part that dissmisses you for president can't)-) It's not the same The Head and The Heart without you. It's not even (so)close. Just please, please, please, don't go away. Josia, playing The first album and the second, the ones you starred in sound fine.
Luke Koebele Why does everyone hate on Cheryl? Yes she's enthusiastic but understand she has been there since day 1 with a lot of these bands. KEXP gave these guys a shot and now their huge and I don't blame her for her genuine interest in how they are doing personally. If you want a purely audio session go find another acoustic session.
I'm biased because to me she's the only one to host Cloud Cult so genuinely. or maybe I just wish she was my mom. I dunno but I respect your opinion dude
The drummer has so much fun, i love every time the camera turns to him
absolutely brilliant. I get ever more impressed by these guys and their musical skills. Ive been listening to pop, rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass, reggae and soul for 50 years now. I love them, they are so good. I have only discovered them n need to see where they are at now.
Been coming back and listening to this for years
Man, I wish Josiah could get over whatever demons and come back. His vibe just adds so much more when he's present.
JohnnieDub16 I completely agree with you. His stage presence is amazing.
He has his own album coming out!
I miss Josiah so much. They're not the same without him.
uimanen He has his own album coming out!
Totally correct. They were gold with all of them in the band :(
@@MissHoneyBz When!!!!!
Every top comment on THATH videos is about missing Josiah. Couldn’t agree more
It's an amazing feeling listening to "MIGOS Young Rich Niggas," then transitioning to such peaceful indie-folk. The world truly has very breath-taking bands.
Darkl0rds migos is hot fkn garbage
I've been in love with the story on the "official" video for a while. This is even more beautiful having seen it. Thank you!
Once again, thank KEXP for this amazing live. I'm from Belgium and we don't have that kind of radio which really care about good music and new bands.
studio Brussel?
Lut Testelmans I don't understand dutch. It's so bad for me... And I don't think we have that kind of radio in Wallonie. I especially thought of Classic 21. I hate this shit, too much hits from the superstars Beatles or AC/DC. So sad.
Great version of Let's be Still. Love this band
These have been on my mp3 priority list since Let's be still came out. Genuinely good band.
this woman is so great, love they way she leads the interview
Cheryl Waters from KEXP. Cancer survivor and amazing human music lover extraordinary.
I really miss the old Homecoming Heroes from their old KEXP session. I don't know, this one's good, but that old one was one of my favorite tunes ever. I hope they still play that one from time to time.

I felt in love with this music. Simply make me feel GREAT. Regards from Honduras.

Thanks KEXP and especially the amazing Cheryl for all the great bands. How I wish the UK had a radio station half as good as this !!
Hearing “Let’s Be Still” in Tulsa 2019 was amazing! Chills!
If you like these guys, check out First Aid Kit, The Avett Brothers, and Of Monsters and Men. They all have a sorta folk sound with genuine artists.
check out www.soundcloud.com/thewesternsettlers , this is my band, i am heavily influenced by the head and the heart and blind pilot, death cab, they've inspired me to move to the west coast
Have all three - loved OMAM since I was small and still adore their tunes...
Seen them last night in Fayetteville, AR. What a great live performance! A must see band!!!!!
This interviewer is amazing. She asked many things I would like to know about their process :)

Was thinking the same thing. I love how he looks like he's having a great time!
Love this band so very much.
Good listening at KEXP.
Love this band!
This will always be better than their new stuff. The first 2 albums will always be better than the rest. The lost their heart when Josiah left. So did their quality playing live. I miss the songs you could play for a small town bar.

Really Fucking Lovely..
I do prefer them acoustic. Their acoustic set on KEXP just sounds beautiful.
I can't get into their new album? Am I the only one? (It took me a few weeks to get into Edward Sharpe's new one, but now I love it.) Do I just need to keep listening?
Yeah! Xoxo
Miss you Josiah!!!!!!
its 2022 and i basically just discovered this band...wth is wrong with me?
Same🥲
Fucking beautifull
Really? Tyler made it happen? Thatt's amazing.
Heaven go easy on me... Right?
Damn, that Guild guitar is a thing of beauty. Anyone know what it is? And can you send us one?! We're covering their Winter Song (not to be confused with Lindisfarne's Winter Song, which we're also covering!)
It looks like a Guild Starfire III. I recently bought one. It changed my life. Great guitar. Worth the money to find an American made one. Good luck!
I would jump off a bridge into 3 ft deep shark infested water to see this band live

Josiah ❤
errrrghhhh... the lead singer tuning his guitar at 5:00 buggered the second song for me :( .... maybe it's just me, but the second song would've been soooo good if he tuned his g string on point! Love this band!
Can Josiah Johnson, Jonathan Rusell, Charity Rose, Wesley Schultz, Jeremiah Fraites and Neyla Pekarek form a band, or atleast collab hehehehe
Shake sounds a little shaky...
I put in the pictures I put in the pictures I put in the pictures
Grant Conversano LMAO
it's like the rock and roll version of blind pilot
Pretty obvious the headphones used for this in-studio session are shit, as Jon was messing with it throughout the songs
Josiah, please come back. (baby, so SAD, the POTUS for PArDON! right you should be able to pardon yourself, which you obviously, for the impeachment part that dissmisses you for president can't)-) It's not the same The Head and The Heart without you. Josh McBride would sound so nice.
Something is off for Shake. :P
sHAKE bLEW mY mIND
how do they put if we dont slow down we might not last instead of we might crash... cmon
cause those are the lyrics mate
Umm they aren't talking about driving, it's a lasting relationship.
Its a metaphor
Wagon wheel
bong caSEy jones
sounds like a geico commercial. contrite beyond belief
the unbearable "you know", don't let him speak please
This sound makes me want to buy some new product marketed for millennials. Only this and nothing more.
KEXP gets a lot of great artists but man is the hostess obnoxious.
Daniel Drader thanks for that, never thought of that, haha
Luke Koebele Why does everyone hate on Cheryl? Yes she's enthusiastic but understand she has been there since day 1 with a lot of these bands. KEXP gave these guys a shot and now their huge and I don't blame her for her genuine interest in how they are doing personally. If you want a purely audio session go find another acoustic session.
Moses Gave these guys a shot?? They are huge....this isn't a discovery by any means.
Nathan Marine They are huge now, they weren't when they first played on KEXP. Those first sessions were a discovery FYI
I'm biased because to me she's the only one to host Cloud Cult so genuinely. or maybe I just wish she was my mom. I dunno but I respect your opinion dude
Forced, cliche bullshit. Makes me sick, no character at all.
