- In this upload I test out Type S tire markers (paint pens) on my 2019 Dodge Charger Scatpack. Paint pens have been pretty popular lately so i decided to check them out. I bought these pens from a local retailer. This was not what i was expecting. Question is should you spend the money on tire paint or spend just a little extra to get tire stickers. Tire stickers can be expensive but if you want it to look professional it may be the way to go.

I used oil based white sharpies and it looks pretty good, took an hour because I was really precise, I guess ill make an update video or something, only did it because I was bored, and wanted to see what it would look like .
How many did you use?
Just the one pen. I wasn't happy with the way it looked. I just decided to go with tire stickers.
I use the bold sharpie oil based pen, mine is done in white & yellow but if you use the red beware because it actually looks pink on the tire but red when written on paper, very strange.
I had my wife who is a pre school teacher do them and we took the time to take the tires off and followed the 12 hour before you do the next coat. 1 pen did all for of my Subaru Tires the pack I got from Autozone had 2 in a pack for 14.99
Man get those tire stickers on your tires. Your white car with those tire letters would look 🔥

Do a second coat then touch up the edges with a sharpie
Yeah that probably would have helped tremendously but I ended up going with tire stickers and was extremely happy with them.
I did you have good experience using the pens. If so what brand did you use. Thanks for leaving the comment and the advice for others to see.
You should have done another layer and touched up the edges it would look good, I did and it looked bad until I did a second coat and it looked great
Yeah I just went ahead and did tire stickers instead. I they turned out really good

Autozone these pens were junk
Wish I watched this before I tried to color tire lettering. It was a mess!! I did one tire and said this is horrible.
I felt the same way. Looked like a two year old did the work.

It didn't look good in person. I definitely was not happy with it. I did remove it and it stained my tires looks really bad. I ended up going with tire stickers and they turned out great.
Just do the Perelli or just the p zero nero
The tire stickers turned out way better. I am happy I spent the extra money for them. People love them i get questions about them constantly
Dude, im just like you. From 10 ft out the tire pen looks good, but up close looks like dog crap. Watched my son do his tires and was not happy. Anything on my ride has to be perfect and professional looking or its not going to be on there. My F150 wasnt cheap and nothing cheap looking is going to be on there.
Agreed cars are definitely to expensive to have cheap looking modifications. If it doesn't look professional then whats the point of doing it. The paint pens sounded like a good idea but the tire stickers were a lot better option.

Bro...that's only 1 coat,it needs 2 too 3 coats to look great!
Yeah I don't disagree. That particular pen was just pissing me off. I went the tire sticker route and it worked out good. Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment.

You need 3 coats and go back over it and get the spots YOU fucked up with the alcohol
Or you can use tire stickers and make it look a lot better.
On camera they look good.
They looked bad in person you could see every stroke. I thought maybe another coat waited a little bit did it again still looked bad.
I think maybe a cheap marker because I have seen some really good ones.
