I'm wracking my brain trying to parse out what he could want- it seemed like he admired knowledge but doesn't want Listener to know more about him because the other things Listener could learn would make them "insane"? Then again at this point we might as well just ASK him what we want to know about him than rely on any book or whatever from Earth right? It's not breaking any of the 2 rules he made I think. Very interested to see where the connection/relationship between Hastur and Listener goes, in any event.
