@@tanmansbikebuilds931 Don't get to excited the only way it will do 122 is in the back of a truck! Trust me the speedometer lies. Stock rx1 with gps about 105 on a good day perfect conditions. Also that rough idle and spuddering very likely manifold gaskets pretty common in them.
@@barefootbob1269 ok thanks for the info, I’ll be sure to take a look at that before I put the carbs back on, this sled sat for 6 years so I just had the carbs ultrasonically cleaned by a shop
@@tanmansbikebuilds931 Unfortunately you really can't check them without quite a bit of sled disassembly. Keep your fingers crossed on the carb job that it fixes the spuddering issue. If when you get it running you are getting popping and some back firing it will be the manifold issue .Good luck keep me posted
The carbides on the skis catch on the ramp I was using stopped me dead in my tracks, 100% I needed the plywood or a proper snowmobile ramp, not the atv ramp I only had at the time
The carbs where so gummed up from sitting for 6 years, the fact that is even started was a miracle, go look at one of my more recent videos on the sled where I have them ultrasonically cleaned! The results are night and day!
you can clean that up well. one of hte most reliable old sleds you'll find
Right it’s gone quite a ways since I’ve got it but what an amazing machine! I got it for a great deal and it’s only got 6500km on it!
You will love this sled I have the short track rx1 it’s fast had it 122 mph I would recommend the short track one if you want speed
No sh*t eh, I’m so excited to get some snow man!!

@@barefootbob1269 will do thank you brotha
The engine is based on their personal watercraft engine not the R1. Intake and exhaust are opposite.
Oh no doubt yah that makes a lot of sense! Thank you for the info I didn’t even realize that till you mentioned that!
that would be incorrect. it is the 998cc 4cyl found in the rx1 and the Apex are based on the R1. you're thinking of the 1049cc perhaps? vector? 3cyl?
Plywood not required

Boy that engine sure sounds bad at idle
