Deuteronomy 18:10-11 “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or consults the dead.” Isaiah 5:20 “What sorrow for those who say evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.”
A positive way to see the “magic” as they call it in the movie came from Pedro sacrificing his own life to protect his family from the people who meant to do them harm and because of that their family was given a miracle represented by the candle and each of his children were given a gift that they could use to minister to the needs of others in their community, I do appreciate you making this video it is very important to make sure that something is good by the Lord God’s standard thank you so much you made so many good points I hope you have an absolutely blessed day and remember that God made you special and He loves you very much 💛
we aren't meant to delve into magic at all, and it's movies like these that train children to get into the new age and reject the Father and Messiah@@mariadonkova2759
Today more than ever it’s critical to be aware of the spiritual world we live in. Unfortunately, not everyone has a spiritual discernment to all the stuff Disney is constantly bombarding on our children's minds. “Spell” is one of “Encanto’s” definitions.
The story arc may be interesting (struggling with family issues, etc), But the content make it dangerous: opening portals, white magic that is really witchcraft, circles to invoque divination spirits. 1 Corinthians 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
You are speaking biblical truth but people will often make pseudo Christian comparisons to justify their preferences and desires. Based on the information given, I feel that this movie includes occult practices that the Bible strictly forbids. Disney is openly opposed to Gods truth and therefore, I’m positive they aren’t advocating for Jesus. Thanks for the info and in-depth analysis. I will subscribe to your channel and hope to read more reviews on children movies in the future.
Disney is about normalizing evil for children. Disney's Sophia the first has an episode (Get Wicked Sophia the First) where the evil character sings about how good it is to be evil. Disney's Moana: Has a part where Moana bows and acknowledges Tefiti as a divine being (idolatry) Disney's Owl House is the story about a girl Luz Noceda who stumbles upon a portal that leads to a demonic realm and her adventures there
that’s not what this movie is about though is it? Yes Disney movies do feature some questionable moments but the overall message is the characters going on adventures and family.
I watched Encanto. My spirit was on high alert with some scenes. But I learnt a couple of lessons from the movie. It was a good movie, I wouldn’t watch it again though.
I am a Prophetess. My daughter loves this movie. One day, I started watching this and could only watch a few bits of the movie. What struck me and kind of upset me was the way Bruno was seen and treated. Bruno (who I first thought was a spirit) was a relative of the family who was shunned. He was shunned because he would speak of things that would happen and much of it was something bad. Bruno was somewhat of a prophet. He knew what would come and he tried to warn them, but the family only saw it as him speaking an ill will and making it come true. That's a parallel of how true prophets are treated. As the bible says, in Matthew 13:57 (KJV) : "And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.". The way Bruno was rejected, misunderstood, and mistreated is how true prophets are treated, especially within their own family. Now, I have not seen the whole movie so I cannot chime into a saionce or occult symbolism, but I will say, the viewpoint of Bruno and his family does ring true to how a prophet will be seen and treated, especially when that prophet does not only speak of great and happy things to come. Now, as a Prophetess, I will say that many psychics have tried to draw me in. I had one come to me when I was 16. I was walking in the mall and some woman grabbed my hand. I looked at her and she said, "You have a special gift. You have to let me give you a reading!". I snatched my hand back, looked her in the eye, and told her, "I am gifted by the Holy Spirit and I of the Light, not darkness!". Many people get mixed up with prophets and psychics. If one is not careful and they have a gift from God, they can get perverted and do workings for the dark world (of Satan). I will have to watch the entire movie to give a conclusion as to what is going on with Bruno. From what you have said, it could be that he was seen to be of darkness or that he was perverting his gift and was dabbling in the dark (as psychics do).
Thank you for clearing that up. I personally can't watch anything with magic or occult in it. It feels painful or odd to watch. I can't watch that anymore. I am glad that God has blessed you, and I have had to explain why psychics and mediums are using darkness and why what they do is wrong. I hope to know what I am to do for God. I pray others heed your warnings. God is beautiful and awesome. Have a blessed day.
I haven’t seen this film, but there’s a part someone mentioned to me that describes what sounds like a possession (perhaps with Bruno’s character, but I’m not sure). Anyone know what I’m talking about? Magic in general is witchcraft, as it doesn’t come from our good God. Let’s remember this as parents, if you are Christ-led.
The story line is reminiscent of Abrahamic religions though as it has reference to the Maccabees and does maintain gifts that are given to the family in their time of need, there’s no sacrifice or weird Covina to that is made to make it seem like the magic is not from the Devine
I'm agnostic raised Catholic and my husband is Christian just watched the movie. As soon as things started moving inside the house 🏠✨ I stopped it turned to my husband and asked my husband. How does the Church feel about all this witch craft 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Like I said I'm not Christian but my husband is so I'm always curious about the church's views. For myself it's a great rich movie with a deep important lesson. But what the guys saying is true because where exactly the magic comes from is unclear. But it's also Disney and the goal was not to respect the Church the goal was to portray Colombian culture.
Interesting perspective!! The priest character didn’t come across the way you saw it but I see your point. It’s super important to be ultra critical of non-Christian media this way.
“Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 “Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.” Ephesians 5:11
Good points! Movie is definitely evil. It’s opens doors for the Spiritual realm to have strong holds on the Viewers. God help us and please grant us wisdom and discernment in Jesus Name Amen! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Do not reply to this comment with swear words I mean it I hate swear words and don’t reply with a rude reply either if someone doesn’t like this comment then don’t reply at all. I thought of an idea and I know this is weird since reality-warping powers are not real but I’ll say it anyway because I wouldn’t be able to do it with time travel. If I had reality-warping powers, I would erase the Croods characters except for Ugga, the Disney dinosaur movie but I would use the deadly meteor shower scene it for my movie, and erase the movie Encanto from existence but I would use the three sisters from Encanto and make them cave girls and make a new movie called Disney Pixar cave people. I would combine the animations of the Disney dinosaur, the Croods, and Encanto. It would have the locations from Disney Dinosaur and the Croods in it and it would be 2 hours and 50 minutes long and make it a musical. It would even have action and adventure in it too. It would have the actresses who did the voices of the three sisters and other people who can sing amazingly. It would have the dinosaurs from Disney Dinosaur (only bigger) and more dinosaurs that we didn’t see in Disney dinosaur that can talk in this movie. Also In this movie, cave people can talk to the plant-eating dinosaurs and they jump high, swing on vines, and climb trees like the lemurs in Disney dinosaur. The meat-eater dinosaurs wouldn’t talk in this movie like they did in the Disney dinosaur movie. There would be more locations in this movie than there were in the Disney dinosaur and the croods movie. The character Aladar would still exist but he wouldn’t be the main character in the movie. The main characters are a family of cave people who live on an island with other cave families. The island looks similar to Lemur island from Disney dinosaur only bigger. There is a mother and a father who have four daughters, the cavewoman who strongly resembles Mirabel is the oldest, the cavewoman who strongly resembles Isabella is the middle daughter, the other two are the youngest and they are twins and both strongly resemble Luisa. The cavewoman who strongly resembles Mirabel is 22 years old, the cavewoman who strongly resembles Isabella is 19 and the twin cavewomen who strongly resemble Luisa are both 15. Also, the cavewoman who looks exactly like Mirabel has a husband who looks exactly like Mariano Guzmán from Encanto and has a daughter of her own named Suri who is 5 years old and looks like a female version of Disney's Tarzan when he was a child and she loves to swing on vines and slide on trees. She also likes to do a female Tarzan yell. The twin cavewomen who strongly resemble Luisa are very strong and taller than their sisters just like Luisa is in Encanto but not as tall and strong as her father and they have a close relationship with their niece Suri and always tries to be there for their niece. The cave sisters would have a grandmother who strongly resembles the grandmother from Encanto, a grandfather and three aunts, and three uncles. Ugga from the Croods would be the mother of those three cave girls. The movie would be about a family of cave people who are trying to find a new home after their island home is destroyed by massive deadly meteor showers. The cave family along with dinosaur companion Aladar are the only survivors. The rest of the cave families were killed by the deadly meteor showers. They will have to travel far and face many dangers that lie ahead of them. For example, Carnotaurs, T-rexes, pterodactyls water meat-eater dinosaurs, raptors, and spinosaurus. Even Earthquakes. There would be a scene where the twin cavewomen who look exactly like Luisa sings a prehistoric version of the song the lion sleeps tonight with their niece Suri while riding on Aladar just to be funny. It would be called the T-Rex sleeps tonight. I would use my reality-warping powers to have this movie released in 2025. This movie would be for adults too because it would have adult jokes in it and other adult things. It would have a different opening, it would show more of the island before it gets destroyed. The meteor shower scene would be longer and more deadly and massive.
Interesting discussion here, I believe our differences in perspective come from my family and I being protestant. We actually saw the movie as VERY Christian at the core. It made sense that the sacrifice of the grandfather would manifest itself into a blessing from god. While the movie calls it an "encanto" the Grandmother also pairs it with "our gift" right afterwards. As if to say the powers and abilities come as a gift from God for their family, and with these "gifts" come responsibilities to help the community. We took this as a metaphor to how God sometimes grants regular people "gifts" in the sense of skills and or talents that then help the community. Not to mention how the "candle" is gone by the end of the movie, yet the gift remains after the family earns it back through love and understanding. I am curious on your thoughts on these points
Thank you for taking the time to comment a very thoughtful response! I think you raise a good point as the gifts being a result of self sacrifice. That’s something all Christians can find good and edifying. I would raise caution though as it still engages with imagery that subverts Christian practice. Although, Christianity exists in the world of Encanto it is distinctly separate to the magic. I think there’s absolutely good to draw from this film like you said but it is important not to taken in the whole film without criticism when it is warranted. Thanks again for your comment! God bless.
Would you eat a pie with just a little poop? I mean if it looked good smelled good but there was a tiny bit of $hit in there, would you think twice? There isn’t a grey area with God, or you are edifying and bringing glory to God or you are not, you cannot practice the occult with the intention of pleasing and serving God. It’s dangerous to conflate the two when they are diametrically opposed.
Do not reply to this comment with swear words I mean it I hate swear words and don’t reply with a rude or terrible reply either. If someone doesn’t like then don’t reply at all. Personally I think this movie is terrible. I think it’s stupid that it got an award.
Awesome presentation! Thank you for sharing this, huge blessing. Have you heard of Little Light Studios? They do similar videos on UA-cam, I recommend anyone to check them out!
Thank you for your kind words. It’s a great blessing as I just get started on this work. I have heard of Little Light Studios. I think they’re going good work too. Blessings!
The movie genre is magical realism. Magic in magical realism is typically unexplained (as here) and is typically assumed to be granted by positive entities such as the saints or the Virgin Mary.
In Latino culture powers of any kind are always atributed to the dark forces. Such as budu, witch craft pact with the evil one. However, due to the nature of the powers most of them have such as super strength, cooking that heals, talking to animals, incredible hearing, growing flowers those are more like Latino Incredibles and less so dark forces. Then there's Bruno and the house moves and the candle. On Disney's defense magic does sell movies
I find it super hilarious that people seem to have problems with movies like Encanto or Turning Red because they feature magic that stems from traditional practices around the world. Yet they seem perfectly fine with movies like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, the Little Mermaid, etc. Because don't they also feature magic? Sleeping Beauty comes to mind when the Fairies are using their magic to protect Prince Philip as he battles Maleficent. Is it because those kind of magics come from European culture? So white people magic good, non white people magic bad. Okay got ya. If you knew anything about Latino culture, you would know that their stories involving magic is from a divine source. In their stories, when someone performs a selfless sacrifice to save others, God rewards them by giving them magic abilities or passes it to their family if the person is dead. Pedro Madrigal sacrificed himself to protect his village and his family from what appears to be bandits. Because of his sacrifice, God blessed the people with a means to protect themselves from further harm from outsiders. The Madrigals were essentially tasked by God to protect and care for the village, and not to use their powers for selfish or evil purposes. And they did for awhile, but then the miracle was weakened. Because the family and the villagers mistreated Bruno and Mirabel for being different. And instead of trying to correct their ways, they decide to blame them for things going wrong. It got to the point where God decided to take the magic away because He felt like the people didn't deserve it anymore for their prideful and arrogant behavior. And only gave it back through Mirabel when the family and villagers proved they learned their lesson. All in all, considering magic is not real, I don't think Christians need to worry about kids being influenced. Magic in movies makes great story telling, but that's all it's worth. Pretending to summon something is fun and all, but it's not going to do anything because there's no such thing as magic. If people are claiming to be possessed, it's because they are either lying or they are mentally ill and need help.
For the most part, i was fine with idea of a family being blessed with supernatural gifts because there are many biblically supported instances where people get powers from God. Believers being instruments of God to be able to form miraculous wonders for His Glory, and for helping others : Samson's super strenght. The Prophets foretelling the future. The Disciples being able to Heal. And though the film tries to be unspecific and **teehee ambiguous ** from where the miracles/gifts / blessings come from, it is Heavily implied to be God Himself. Just look at it: The way they Got their gifts- stemming from a selfless act of sacrificial Love and being granted protection is a clear indication that the Almighty was at play here . Well at least the way i see it. The miracles was Given to them . They didnt seek it out of selfish occult purposes. They didnt get it from some deal with a demon or some "spirits". There was no spell or magic words that they said- the miracle was simply Given to them because God is watching and He cares. That Being Said, i still do have Issues with the film like you said. One scene that really bothered me was When Bruno did a ritual to be able to see the future. Like, the way he drunk a concoction beforehand. The way he made a sand circle. The way his eyes glowed green. The way the visions appear. like thats literally sorcery and divination 🙄! It would be fine if Bruno simply gets prophetic visions as the Biblical Prophets do , but the whole ritualized aspect to it bothered me. The whole living house thing also kinda raised my suspicion. Is the House literally alive like an organism?? Is it possesed by some House Spirit (a common belief in pagan Roman times)? But then again, this simply could just be a literary tool to deliver the story. The whole point of the film in itself isnt magic-its about family . The magic being just a springboard to tell the message (if you get what i mean). The film is stated to be inspired by literary Magic realism - a genre that doesnt really go deep to explain the supernatural aspects of the setting. So yeah! Thank you for taking time to read my looong comment! Would love to hear your response too brother! All supernaturalness aside, i still do like the characters and their family dynamics. The animation and songs are indeed topnotch. And whilst i have issue with the Disney company as a whole- i cant deny how good their Artistry and Storytelling are in their films
Hi, thank you so much for watching and taking your time to make a thoughtful comment. You raise some good points! I think you raise a very positive interpretation based in the film. Thanks for pushing back on the things I was critical about it’s a very good perspective.
Umm Brunos rituals aren't what make him able to use his gift but rather they are just rituals to calm his anxiety do he can clear his head to use his gift. As for the house it is a magic house it is fiction and just the makers of the movie being imaginative. ( there is a theory that it is the spirit of pedro)
@@carolinpurayidom4570 you assume there is no ill intent or subliminal messaging going on… that’s positive of you, however Disney is not nearly as ignorant or innocent as you seem to believe. To each his own, but don’t label a movie that openly dabbles in occult practices to be imaginative or fictional when those practices are in fact real and extremely consequential.
I'm curious, if Disney were to ever release a movie from my culture. I wonder if you people Will still call it evil, idolatry, magic and whatever just because we ACKNOWLEDGE the existence of no biblical spiritual being? "There's a different between believing, and knowing." And I'm saying this as a catholic.
Deuteronomy 18:10-11
“Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,

Interesting discussion here,
I believe our differences in perspective come from my family and I being protestant.

Encanto means love or charm
Thank you for taking the time to comment! Genre context is not something I had thought about.
Anything Disney is a big no for our house. They are completely against anything Biblical. They have no morals.
I watched it in school yesterday Jesus and god bless you
God bless you too!
According to the Bible witchcraft is real and in my country it happens in front of our eyes
A lot of the things you’re calling good are actually the very subtleties the Devil is using to achieve his deception through these films
❤️
This movie is creepy AF
Yeah! They’re definitely some creepy parts
For the most part, i was fine with idea of a family being blessed with supernatural gifts because there are many biblically supported instances where people get powers from God.
Believers being instruments of God to be able to form miraculous wonders for His Glory, and for helping others :
Samson's super strenght.
Also not trynna being tin-foil hatty here, but that kid with the Coffee Addiction ....concerns me.

To each his own, but don’t label a movie that openly dabbles in occult practices to be imaginative or fictional when those practices are in fact real and extremely consequential.
rosarys are demonic so are statues etc... seek Yahuah through His Son Yahusha and come out of her (religions)
I think your overacting 😂
your absolutely right
I'm curious, if Disney were to ever release a movie from my culture. I wonder if you people Will still call it evil, idolatry, magic and whatever just because we ACKNOWLEDGE the existence of no biblical spiritual being? "There's a different between believing, and knowing." And I'm saying this as a catholic.
Well the Magic is a miracle from what's implied to be God.
This is absurd
