Forest of Dean: Summer In The Deep British Woodland

A short wildlife film showcasing a small section of the beautiful creatures and landscapes of the Forest of Dean.
Created by Rebekah Thompson & Atif Hashmi and narrated by Peter Thompson.
All footage was shot by us in August 2022.
In this film we see how the Forest of Dean contains some ancient fragments of British woodland and as we search for the wildlife inside this forest it is easy to see why it has such a magical allure. Shy mammals give us some glimpses and there is also a prized sighting of some elusive Wild boars. Wild boars were once native to the UK and they are now back in the Forest of Dean!
Other than the Wild boars inside the Forest of Dean, We also some other rarer species such as Dung beetles, Hawfinches and Spotted Flycatchers.

I came here to go on family bike trail, the forest was quite empty at the time and when I got about halfway saw a whole family of boars crossing the path, was quite relaxing to watch, the large one at the back stopped for a second to look at me and make sure I wasn't a threat before vanishing into the ferns. I should have gotten my phone out to take video but I was so enthralled watching them I left it for my own memory.

I got bitten more than 30 times and had 2 layers of my skin in places on my leg done by a black beetle in summer of 2011 or 2013. This happened somewhere in east half of Europe. I was sleeping during the night and it did this. I woke up and had 2 or 3 little blood spots on my left leg. Beetle was in a corner of room and I killed it because I was afraid it maybe does worse things to more people. It wasn't because it was black colored. I put some lotion on the affected parts and everything went away in 1 or 2 hours. I told another guy that I know about it and he said it happens to him every 5 years, roughly.
