TRIP REPORT | Air Canada - Embraer E190 - New York (LGA) to Toronto (YYZ) | Business Class

On January 17, I flew on Air Canada's smallest mainline aircraft from New York's LaGuardia Airport to Toronto Pearson International Airport. Air Canada's E190 fleet is being retired sometime later this year, so I wanted to film a flight on one before they're gone. The interiors are extremely dated but quite comfortable (at least in business class). The service was pretty standard (salmon dish), and the flight attendants were professional.

Although the trip was short and the plane was dated, Air Canada seemed to do their best to show that Business Class was clearly an upgrade, including the surprisingly substantial meal.

That’s false, the E-175 is the smallest in their fleet, I have personally flown on it
The E-175s are operated by Sky Regional so the E-190s are the smallest in the mainline fleet
QFS Aviation ooohh ok... well thanks for clearing that up!!, and I also forgot that they had Q400’s which are much smaller🤣

Air Canada decided to retire the Embraer 190 on favor of Airbus 220 ( formely Bombadair C 100 Series)
Anyone know if the E190s are being returned to the lessor or sent to the boneyard? Seems like they have a lot more life to them. JetBlue wants to offload theirs because it’s more expensive to operate than the airbuses.
Most UA-cam trip report channels are really not up to standard. Very few that are really worth following. Like this one!

JetBlue has IFEs on their Embraer 190s.
That business class was worst than the Etihad Airways economy class, at least etihad has better legroom
One of the rare erjs with a IFE. The only other airline I know that has an IFE is Jetblue.

This is an outstanding trip report. My company had (actually, still has; but I retired) an office in Toronto. I used to travel this route often, but usually on an A-319. Amazing shots of NYC (live here), Buffalo (used to live there).
Nice video! I have a ticket from LAX- Toronto on air Canada’s 787 business class but it is in June and will prob be cancelled.

I can confirm feeling entitled about IFE. Air Canada Express' E175s have it (a rarity like you mentioned), and when I got on an Asiana A321 without it, I was surprised. Of course, this was back when I wasn't as much of an avgeek as I am now.
What is the app that you use to see all of the info for your flight? Like the aircraft age, flight number etc.

Love the Embraer 190 which is sadly leaving Australian skies...great aircraft to fly in any class !! Great vies as always on take off from NYC !! And great views en route !! Looked like a pretty good flight...especially with the views out the window !! Well done as always and take care in these most troubled times!!

Awesome video. I flew on these so many times to and from Halifax, but they are becoming increasingly rare to see here. Although the interior is outdated, something about it is very nice and cozy and enjoyable to be in. I hope to see some videos of the 737 max and a220 eventually!

I enjoyed seeing the aerials of the cities especially Niagara Falls and New York. We were supposed to travel to New York in June but are not going now because of the corona virus. I hope we can do that later. Well done again and I like that you add music!

air canadas a200s and 737 max 8 planes have the new ife syetem, their crjs and boring 767s are the old ifes
