  • Carlingford is a most beautiful place nestled between the Cooley and the Mourne mountains in the north east of Ireland close to Dundalk in County Louth, and also fronted by it’s beautiful Lough.
Whilst on holidays there in the 1980’s Danny Carthy fell in love with it’s beauty, the people and also it’s peace and tranquillity. After returning home from a holiday there, he decided to write and compose a song about Carlingford, which he later recorded. Not only did Danny record the song, but so also did Sandy Kelly which was on the Woodcarver single recorded and released with Johnny Cash.
Good fortune also occurred in 2009 when French singer Renaud translated and recorded an Album of Irish folk songs in Dublin titled Molly Malone which also included Carlingford. To date that album has sold 120,000 CD’s in France alone. To enhance the beauty that surrounds Carlingford it was decided recently to record a video on location there, and also to bring greater awareness to his song Carlingford that has brought Danny such good fortunes over decades.
