Hey buddy, I just had to leave a comment, not because your video solved my issue but because it's amazing that you took the time to make a pretty outstanding video in the middle of a parking lot with freezing temperatures and snow. Making a vid would be the last thing I'd want to do! If I were to make a video under these circumstances you'd here cussing and witness aggravation, so hats off to you for keeping it PG as well! Great job bro!!
thank you so much your advise saved me a lot of money and time. I used contact cleaner and my signals are working. one guy wanted to charge 34 dollars a year for the answer that may not be the correct answer wow... your the man
I'm glad you found my video useful. Be sure to stay tuned because we have relocated so there will be a lot more Hands-On technical videos as well as all kinds of race car, Motocross, mud drags and a whole ton of other types of videos
Big ups to you my man. You clarified a lot of things. A lot of the other videos just went straight to replacing a part without really giving any context to the issue they were having and didn't really differentiate the parts. from your video I learned that there is a flasher AND a relay AND that it could sometimes be the multifunction switcher. So that helped narrow down what components I should be looking at. You also captured the actual symptom which helps us identify if we are experiencing something similar. The issue I'm having is when it's cold, the turn signals don't come on or makes a buzzing noise just like in the video and after I have the heat on and inside warms up really nice, then it starts to work. Do you think that it could be the switcher or relay or flasher? Thanks again for great video.
Check top left blue fuse on 1997 ford f150 . it will stop all flashing turn signal and flashers . make sure its the fuse not the relay . learnt that lesson
Is there anyone here who removed their bottom panel suddenly discover their hood won't close anymore? I think removing the bottom panel messed up the tension on the line to the hood, and somehow it won't close shut anymore. Is it safe (or recommended) to open the hood before removing the hood latch? I'm very annoyed I have to take apart my hood latch now to fix it.
Not up here from our local parts stores, if I remember correctly they were $239 plus tax I'm sure you could find cheaper knockoff versions but who knows how that will last
Have a 1997 F250 and replaced both round, silver 2 prong blinker units (both on left side of column, one easily accessible near fuses on front, and other under the dash almost directly behind first one. Emergency flashers still do not work. I also have a 5 pin "flasher" unit (looks like yours), but not sure if this is for my rig. Any ideas will be great, thanks everyone! @streetstomper
Hey sorry for the late reply my kids and I we're out on a camping trip. You should be able to find this flasher at any auto parts store and of course the dealer
whats that button next to your pedal button i have the same truck but not with what ever that button is i was wanting to put tow mirrors and some how hook up defrost for mirrors
Buddy Starnes thank you for watching. The button you are referring to is the rear window (slider) button. For your mirrors, what climate control unit do you have manual or automatic? if you have automatic you will have heated mirrors if it is manual you will manually have to run power to your mirrors.
streetstomper i have manual I think im gonna start looking for a power rear slide window now. I wish I could post pics on here. our trucks are just alike mine has no camper though or brush guard
Keep in mind I am in canada and we pay a premium price for parts. I don't doubt that auto stores down there have it for Less but through the dealership that is the price.
@@streetstomper I bought one this week for about $100 usd, too -- but I do not think it was an OEM multi function switch like the one from a dealership.
Ya I don't have much trust in ebay parts and I'm sure I'm not alone on that, not to mention that if you do end up needing it waiting 4-6 weeks for shipping just isn't practical.

I am so glad this worked out for you. There are far too many mechanics that just wanna throw unnecessary parts at vehicles and hope they fix it.
Here in 2024 and your video helped me fix my issue. Bad relay! Thanks
I'm glad you found my video useful. Be sure to stay tuned because we have relocated so there will be a lot more Hands-On technical videos as well as all kinds of race car, Motocross, mud drags and a whole ton of other types of videos
You just saved me a ton. Help me narrow down exactly what my issue is.

Very good video thank you man👍👍👍
1A Auto has multi function switch for about $40-$50
That's where I got mine
My factory relay works just fine, but I switched my turn signals and brake lights to LED...so I had to switch it out. 😮💨
Check top left blue fuse on 1997 ford f150 . it will stop all flashing turn signal and flashers . make sure its the fuse not the relay . learnt that lesson
The other pod had you pulling the steering COLUMN apart...wow simple first..😢
I installed flasher and blinker relays just 4 way flasher works I check fuses are ok . Are blinkers tied in with the cluster ?
Just changed mine, but I just laid on the floor board and pulled it. It's a bit*h either way. 🤣
Did you change the blueone??
THANK YOU!

You do not have to tear the dash apart. Reach up from the right side of the truck and pull it out.
That is true however if you have to do any sort of diagnosing it's much easier just to remove the one lower panel
Those multifunction switches are between $25-$50 BTW, not $250.
Not up here from our local parts stores, if I remember correctly they were $239 plus tax I'm sure you could find cheaper knockoff versions but who knows how that will last
Anyone know what it could be if it's only my front passenger turn signal?? Light stays on but won't blink
I would start by checking your flasher if the Flasher is okay verify that the multifunction switch is doing what it should
I have a 1999 ford truck that my turn signals or my hazard lights want blink the turn signal arrows don't even light up
Have you checked the relay and fuses?

Where can i found flasher and relay. Any auto parts store?
Hey sorry for the late reply my kids and I we're out on a camping trip. You should be able to find this flasher at any auto parts store and of course the dealer
You didn't show the new part. Was it the same?
Yes the part was exactly the same it just had a few different part numbers on it as well as the factory Ford number
Hidy, Canooky. Snowy, eh? My 98
Oh ya and it never fails to dump on us when I have far too much to do LOL
I can't make heads or tails as to what you are doing
whats that button next to your pedal button i have the same truck but not with what ever that button is i was wanting to put tow mirrors and some how hook up defrost for mirrors

streetstomper I also couldn't stand all the gap between the dash and console so I done the expedition console swap
i have 2003 f 150 rear left turn signal doesnt work buzzin noise
fun times...
so much easier ways to do this
Man U just hating
I don’t believe the price for a multi-func switch is $250., the auto store has it at roughly $100:)
Keep in mind I am in canada and we pay a premium price for parts. I don't doubt that auto stores down there have it for Less but through the dealership that is the price.

It looks like you are just tearing it apart
Lol -14 sounds like thunder bay
yeeee
It’s 23 bucks on eBay 😂 not 250$

also shipping isn’t any difference from amazon.
sooooo🤔😂
i have 2
Guess you young kids don't know about "hand signals".
I've been using hand signals for the past week and I think I better replace mine before someone starts flipping me the bird lol
It's a Ford. That's your problem
I don't disagree LOL
