hello there! oh was it? tbh I don’t even know what’s a good base, it varies so much from day to day hahahah. But i’ll try to while trying not to spill the shot hahah😂 - zee
i like the way u used the needle distributor compare to jon. i can see much clearer. ask him to lift up onto the camera too 😂 the art improved a lot tho ❤
Hey Charles! we have a phone holder that goes around our necks so that's how you guys get to see the POV angles hahah. Our current scale is a tad thick so we aren't able to film the extraction. Maybe when we've started using the new Varia scale we might be able too!🤓 - zee
Hey you 2, as im evaluating right now which coffee machine to buy i really would like to know your opinion on whether a dual boiler is an upgrade you are looking for as a couple or if a single boiler is enough. I‘m really torn on if i should pay the extra buck.
Hey Eric! that's a great question but lemme reply it with even more questions hahah. How much coffee are you looking to make and are you the only one using the machine (i.e making just one cup of coffee per session)? The thing Jon and I are starting to realise is that altho the Rancilio Silvia V6 is powerful, it's not powerful enough for our usage. It could be because we film and pull back to back shots (on some mornings when we don't record and during our dial in sessions). If given a choice and if we had the budget too, I think we'd both prefer a dual boiler and a machine that can pull back to back shots without the temperature fluctuating too much and without the steamwand going flat. Having said that, we're not looking for a cafe standard industrial machine hahaha. Long story short: If you're the only user and you're looking to get a coffee machine to just make your daily coffee say, one cup in the morning, another in the afternoon and evening, I reckon a single boiler would be more than enough. However, if you're looking to make back to back coffees for an entire family in the mornings or host people, I feel like a dual boiler would be better (if the budget allows for it, if not, they'll just have to wait for their coffees hahah). Alternatively, you could look into heat exchanger machines which tend to be a little more affordable than dual boilers. Kinda like a half step up from a single boiler. Disclaimer: I'm no professional but that's just our experience so far. Hope that helped!😂 - zee
HI!! Please can someone respond to me?? Jon or Zee, please! I also have the Varia VS3 grinder. I've had it for like a month or so and what keeps happening is that the grind setting keeps sliding to coarser grind, WHILE GRINDING. I cannot get a normal grind, unless I hold it the whole time while it's grinding... PLEASE HALP! :D
Hey Radomir! I think Jon and Katniss has replied to your concern a couple of times but not sure if you've seen the replies. You'd probably wanna contact your supplier to see if you could replace the springs as Katniss managed to get a new set of springs which seemed stiffer as compared to the original one (altho Katniss's grinder is much older). Ours doesn't seem to have that issue yet (fingers crossed) but as mentioned before, it is unfortunately an ongoing issue with the VS3. We'd say contacting the supplier you bought it from would be your best bet as we're no experts in the mechanics of grinders :) - zee
@@thegroundedduo Ohhh, my bad Zee! I am so sorry that I didn't see your reply before! :((( I don't get notifications about replies :( And thank you again for explaining! I will try to call my supplier again. It's just that the first day i brought it back and they said that they fixed it... So I don't have much believe in them anymore... Anyways, I will try to fix my issue and let you know :) Thank you, byeeee.
Hahah hey guys! It actually is a puck screen! we bought this out of curiosity as our Rancilio's shower head is known to have a protruding screw (similar to La Marzocco) and tends to leave screw indentations on regular puck screens if the basket's filled too high up. These puck screens are designed with such machines in mind, thus the hole in the center☺️ They're aren't common things you'd see but we got one out of curiosity and it actually worked🤓 - zee
your base setting was so smooth and fluid! get the pitcher just a tad closer to the milk.
hello there! oh was it? tbh I don’t even know what’s a good base, it varies so much from day to day hahahah. But i’ll try to while trying not to spill the shot hahah😂 - zee
Nice! I’ve also been steaming for a few seconds longer after the pitcher feels too hot to the touch on my Barista Express.
Thanks Shayne! Yeah I realised my sense of touch is more sensitive than Jon so my milk tends not be as hot. Definitely helped!😊 - zee

Hey Hafiz, hahah thanks! I think I just have the habit to lift it up. Jon does it at a lower angle😂 - zee
Hello zee ...that's a beautiful tulipe btw😆your becoming a pro too
Next time it would be perfect
hahah thank you! I think i specialise in smaller half tulips tho😂 also, Jon’s milk seems to be of a better texture so i’ll have to work on mine - zee
what a pleasure to come watch this everyday ^^ i had a question tho how do you guys film the workflow ?
a extraction view when the coffee is brewing would be really nice too with this nice bottomless ☺

@@thegroundedduomaybe look into a PID modification for your rancilio to manage the temp better - it’ll change your workflow.
@ wow thanks for the detailed answer. I think I will go for the lelit Bianca and will be happy forever and don’t have upgradetitis right away haha 🙏🏼
@@EricSchmidt909 Hahaha don't be too quick to say forever, you'll eventually be tempted😂 but completely agree on having upgradetitis💯 - zee
so did you wear the camera on your head for the first-person view and end up flattening your hair ?😊
hey ezio, nope we wear our phones around our necks☺️ - zee

That’s a common issue with the VS3. Google it.

It’s not a puck screen. It’s a shower screen
Sure looks like a puck screen.
@@MrNissanGTR35 It says Puck screen on it I see on closer look. But why it has this hole in the middle?
