Whitehackle Muff Brood Pen

I have been trying to establish a quality family of the old ‘New England Muff’ fowl for the last three years. These guys are becoming ever more rare, and I’ve acquired the best I could find and afford.
They are promising fowl, this pen includes two of my favorite muff hens I’ve bred from a ‘Texas Hoy Cock’ and a ‘Sears (Hoy) Muff’ hen from Connecticut, bred to a spangled stag from Georgia. The Georgia fowl were obtained directly from Mr. J. Sears of Connecticut, Mr. Low of Georgia acquired back in 1986.
Either way, the chicks are more impressive each year, and I’m hopeful some finally mature. Lots of predation here so these guys are all in a pen for now until I rotate them elsewhere.
