Very pretty, Kendra. I really enjoy dyeing videos and I like Falkland wool. An idea for using your handspun is in colorwork. I knit the Glacier Park Cowl which calls for 2 fingering weight yarns. I used a solid then used variegated handspun for the colorwork portion and it turned out beautifully. Sort of gradiated in the colorwork. I want to do the same thing in a colorwork hat. Enjoy all that noise because all too soon it becomes very quiet.. spoken from someone who knows! I miss those times❤️ Nice little wheel you’ve got. Suzette

Thanks for the comment and reminder to enjoy these days. A cowl is a good idea, I’m going to check out that pattern!

Beautiful colours and spinning! I also get “stuck” - love to spin more yarn but feel like I need to use it first before I spin more. I agree with previous comments about a cowl.. I’m currently using some handspun in an Autumn Larch Cowl and have made a couple hats with handspun for the colour work in Alaska hats (trees silhouetted around bottom in a solid). If your spinning’s consistent enough (mine isn’t so far), could try the Alaska sweater pattern. I think it comes in kid sizes too.

Glad to know I’m not alone! I just looked up the Alaska patterns and really like them, thanks for the suggestion. Going on the queue for potential projects 😊.

That was so much fun! Those electric spinners seem really awesome! Would you recommend one for a beginner? Spinning is on my bucket list, but I have limited space.

I think it would be great for a beginner! The nice thing about this one is that it is a simple design so doesn’t require a lot of fiddling with settings or anything. Pretty much just pull it out of the box, get some wool and you’re ready to go 😊.

Beautiful results! What temp is your oven set to and how long do you keep your fibre in the oven for the dye to exhaust?

I’ve seen different advice on the internet, but I usually put it in at 250 for around an hour but keep a close eye on it to make sure there is enough liquid and check if it has exhausted. There are lots of variables though, like having more water means it takes longer to heat up.
