See, I did not mind the remake and I thought it did pretty well--especially considering how it was looking pre-release, and ofc all of the music is different; but, I think they really missed on this track for the final boss. I was a little hopeful after playing through it and seeing what they did for Abstract Daddy (my favorite boss of SH2)--keeping the music and battle intact whilst adding onto it--so when I reached the final boss, it was sort of a letdown as they replaced it with a more generic sounding tension track.
@@caterpillerr totally fair assessment, this music here is honestly so terrifying with all the complex layers to it, generic is all they can do for these attention spans

I love how the beginning of this track starts off so sweet and soft. Like James can see Paradise. And then the track cuts out. He sees Mary and he's already realized what he's done. So that Paradise turns to Purgatory as the song begins to grind and pull downward, repeating the background theme over and over as the nightmarishly melody reveals that James has to face what he's done here or perish.

@@franciscodavi1323 I think "Leave" is the weakest. The best are the "bad" endings. In Water and Maria make the most sense for James as a character. Not to mention....I find it quite unbelievable that Laura would simply go off with her best friend's murderer. If anything, I don't think James even left in the Leave ending. His father states that he never returned from Silent Hill. But to be honest the game isn't even about escaping Silent Hill. It's about finding the truth and being able to accept it or be crushed by it. I just feel as though, after playing the game numerous times and getting every ending multiple times, and studying James as a character and human.... The whole game is him subconsciously seeking torturous punishment for what he had done.
