How to Properly diagnose Lipedema |

Lipedema is frequently misdiagnosed. Proper diagnosis of lipedema requires a specialized exam. In this video, Dr. Thomas Wright goes through step by step the physical signs that should be looked for during the exam. To properly diagnose lipedema, the exam must be more detailed than most clinical exams. Lipedema cannot be diagnosed with photos.
Other causes of enlarged, swollen, and tender legs should be ruled out. Lipedema look-alikes are shown, and the differences from diseases that can resemble lipedema are explained. We hope this presentation will help more clinicians improve their ability to diagnose lipedema.
