Not quite sure how it is possible to point to the most successful economy that has ever existed, the US, and simply claim it doesn't work. Moreover, networks, in reality are not flat structures, but hierarchies.
Successful for who? The rich. An economic system should service the population. Our capitalist system doesn’t do that. It services the 1% at the expense of everyone else.

Networking can be both ways.. Hierarchy as well flat
