This guy needs to be so much more popular. People would rather hear inspirational but completely hollow BS, instead of practical useful real life advice.

I have basically two choices of Internet providers. Spectrum for AT&T. I gave up AT&T about 15 years ago and I've never been so happy in my life. LOL that was just phone service that it was unbelievably horrible customer service. I would dread calling them about a problem because I was always on the phone at least an hour for a simple request for a service call or what have you. So now I'm stuck with Spectrum at the top rate!

Solar panels, they save on utilities. Also how big is your house? It's always gonna be expensive for a large house

In cool weather, try lowering the thermostat by several degrees to run the furnace less. In warm weather, try raising the thermostat by several degrees to run the A/C less. Dress in warm, long-sleeved clothing in the winter, and light, short-sleeved clothing in the summer to stay comfortable. Some online estimates say that lowering your thermostat 2 degrees in winter reduces your heating bill by 5 percent. So if you are comfortable lowering by more, such as 8 or 10 degrees, you will save significantly more.

Buy used cars, don't take out on a loan to pay for them, and drive them for a long time. That's how I pay almost nothing for my car each month, and it has saved me TONS of money over the years.

Agree, except making meals often cost close to eating out plus use valuable time.
    For instance, 2 eggs (25¢), 1 toast (10¢), OJ (40¢), yogurt ($1), a glass of V-8 (35¢), and 1/8 cantaloupe (30¢) cost $2.40. Takes 20 minutes, thought, energy, and electricity to prepare.
A Sausage McMuffin (same amount of calories, not as many nutrients) and OJ costs about $5. Takes 5 minutes to order and receive, on the way to work.
If you can work that extra 15 minutes you save and your time is worth $20 for instance, then you could make $5 with that time.
Furthermore, if one eliminated a stove and refrigerator from their house and stopped preparing EVERY meal you could save $15-$25/mo in electricity, and the cost of repair and replacement and maintenance, which could total $20/mo ($800 each appliance per 10 years plus maintenance).
Imagine the time and hassle saved on grocery shopping too.
By the way, this lifestyle can be further enhanced by comfortably living in a very decent vehicle. One could rent a lot with utilities included at a campground for $300-$500/mo and maintain your job but have minimal negative environmental and social impact.

My family of five spend 200 a month. Oatmeal with frozen fruit, chicken and rice veggie casserole. Spinach salad with buffalo chicken and homemade artisan bread are our staple meals everyday. My 3 kids are home and hubby works from home so we eat at home every meal. Plus it’s so much healthier. 18 months worth of rice beans oatmeal sugar pasta stocked up so we only have to buy the fresh staples which is 200 divided by five. = 40 dollars a month per person.

I use my credit card but for certain things like electric bill. I get an alert that my card was charged. Within in a day or two, I go pay off that charge. Doing so has raised my credit score.
Plus, I get rewards points which I use to purchase gift cards to give out at Christmas.
      Hope this helps.

I have consumer cellular for $23 a month unlimited talk and text and 1 gig of data which for me is all I need . Most places have free wifi and you are home when you use the internet for most of the time . You basically have 2 internet providers you are paying for . Yes the 1 gig of data doesn't get much but if just searching the web or checking emails while out is plenty . No you can't watch UA-cam as that will eat your your gig of data in short order . The reason I got a smart phone was for Gps but discovered that can eat up data but I discovered I could download maps from Google for the area I am driving with no data used . Yes it won't give live traffic but most times you can figure that before you leave or temporarily turn on data to check say while your at a stop . Yes what Clark talks about is a few more steps but we waist maybe 50 percent of our time anyway so utilizing some of that time productively is helpful . Maybe spending a bit less time on the phone while out may also be positive

The only problem with a consumption-based tax system is that it might kill the stock market in hurt everyone. When you disincentivize people to spend money that hurts the economy in the long run if enough people do it.
