- I promised myself to go back to NG+ only when I don't discover anything new that makes Any% obsolete. Finally, that day has come.
Well actually, I almost discovered death warps, but the setup is too complicated to be pratical, thank god.
My NG and NG+ records are only 10 minutes from each other - so is their sum of best.
I'll probably add captions, since there are some differences between the two categories (obviously).
I made captions for this run as well, but only to point out when I use different strats from NG. If you don't understand what is happening, I recommend watch the NG run first, as I explain everything in detail.

I love the way the environment changes as more symbiotes appear later on in the game, it's one of the aspects that made the game that much more amazing and immersive

On a side note 100% category for this game is so fucking brutal and RNG based that I've given up multiple tries at speedrunning much less creating the category. Quality runs as always and a thanks for keeping this game alive. Hope to see you return to Ultimate Spider-Man one of these days.
Is it really that difficult?
It is, early on its not the worst since you can get into a specific rhythm and it's easy to trigger a lot of events such as the civilians and the story helps you clear the majority of the side missions then but later on when you have to defeat thousands of Symbiotes in total and collect their samples and defeat the pods and more its just not worth trying to accomplish it all in one playthrough just for at best two lines of dialogue thanking you and getting nothing else afterwards. The flaws of the game really start to show themselves late game and a lot of it feels incomplete or rushed to say the least.

Imagine being a civilian or an enemy and you suddenly see Spider-Man constantly kicking and flying at 120mph. I would shit my pants instantly.
And when he uses his tendrils/purple energy waves to fly around too 😂 I loved doing that

@@TrueSpider-ManThat is debatable it did have really comic accurate fighting but shattered dimensions too me was better especially since you have the original Spider-Man and Ultimate uses the Black suit mechanics while Noir installed stealth mechanics and 2099 was really speedy and those 4 actually started laying the foundation for the newest games but shattered dimensions to me is the best

i have an advice for you in venom's second Fight.
Basically When he tries to Swallow civilians to turn them into symbiotes, Dont just wait till he finish swallowing everyone in the area. instead web strike him with the black suit and drag him away (The Black dots represent the civilians that are gonna get swallowed (not visible until venom gets near the black dots in the mini-map)
i'm also noticing that dealing damage to venom in the air can deal more damage than when he is on the ground. so basically that means u can kill him with only 2 beatdowns

I assumed that attacking Venom while he eats civilians takes more time until he moves on to the next spot. I think it shows in the video that I havn't really tested this much.
As for the battle itself, I vaguely remember dealing inconsistent damage to Venom. If what you noticed is true, that means I wasn't just imagining. That's a great observation.
I'm sort of on a break from speedrunning for now, but I'll look into it once I'm back.

Comic accurate Spider-Man be like:
I've recently discovered that the red suit can actually destroy some heavy enemies (the kingpin mechas), because that one ground combo where he does a downward Kick acts strange, since the kick not only slow down the game for a few seconds but also makes every frame of the kick act like a multi-hit just like the gatling punch, however compared to the gatling punch the downward kick does ABSURD amount of damage to heavy type enemies
The only one that i've seen that works are the kingpin mechas, where it kills much more faster compared to the "2 full beatdowns + ground pound" cycle, but it's very hard to pull off since these kingpin mechas will me constantly shooting missiles at you, so it's a risk reward type attack where it saves quite a good amount of time on the end of the courthouse mission
I'll try to upload a video on my channel showcasing this strat, don't know if it's more useful than the "2 full beatdowns + ground pound" cycle, but it could work with some good practice, it can maybe work with venom too or can work with heavy / big enemies with some positioning, i say that because i've used this Kick on the first wolverine fight and the kick just completly melted his health, he did go from full to 0 HP on the start of the battle, so i don't know if it can work on some other bosses
I’ve beaten this game 5 times and 100%ed in achievements. I thought I perfectly knew how broken this game is til I saw this.
Can I submit runs using that have texmods loaded? (specifically a PS4 buttons temod since that's the only controller I have)
great job man! but the second fight with Venom is incredibly annoying, I can see you had problems with his movement too xD
Theres a trick with the red suit that makes you jump infinitly while building momentum it would shave a tone of time of your speed run
I know about that, but 1) I can't get it working (perhaps it's only possible on console), 2) It looks like spamming web zips up on walls seems faster and 3) I rarely need to climb up like that.
@@shtrudel9498 it works on pc you just need shoot web pelets in the air then pres the block button and let go if you do that above building level youl jump again

How did you get past the Fat Man Sings level? I tried it on PC and the game always locks up at a certain point. It doesn't freeze, the music still plays, but it's during one of the cutscenes that shows the tower when you complete one of the objectives. It'll just lock on the tower and won't let me progress. Kinda frustrating because the rest of the game works fine, I can just never get past this part because the game won't let me.
From what you describe, I think the issue happens when you open the door to Kingpin's place, then the screen stays in black for a long time?
This is an issue on version 1.0 only. The thing is, it's just a really long loading screen (~40 seconds), but it eventually resolves.
@@shtrudel9498 I've actually been meaning to get back into it soon, it's been probably well over a year since I last played it, so I couldn't remember exactly what happened there, but I'll jump into it again soon and see if that was the issue. Now that you mention it, it may have been a black screen, so I'll see what it is for sure and get back to you on it when I find out. Thank you for the response!

how did you unlock the things that we were not be able at the early stages of the game?
This is NG+, you get it after completing the game. You just load the save file of the complete game (the auto save) to start another playthrough.

Download the NG+ save file from the link in the description or the linked comment. place it in the game's save folder (in My Documents>Activision>Web Of Shadows), then load the autosave when you launch the game.

You just move around without fighting and the game will fill both meters eventually. The travel to Cat is long enough to get that.
@@shtrudel9498 Huh? I'm guessing it's like Tobey 2 where you do very well with web swinging and tricks and you'll fill up your Spider Reflex. But I tried roaming the city like you said but the special meter doesn't fill that often.
It's the same mechanic as Tobey 2 but not as reliable, isn't it?

How do you have all moves upgrades and levels from the start, I need to know how so I can do it.
After you beat the game and watch the credits to the end, the game saves your progress in the autosave slot.
When loading that save file, you will start the game again with all the upgrades you unlocked.

@@shtrudel9498 Thanks I figured it out on how to get all upgrades, did a run and finished it 3h22mn, I used some of your tips. Also you can Swing kick the symbiote pods it's one shots them with enough momemtum

You can, but the Helicarrier is just a texture.

Dude how come none of your audio glitches? When I got to this point mine wouldn’t go slow mo or anything like that but sound effects and dialogue would randomly lag and sound super weird as hell.
I have no idea. The only thing I can think about is turning V-Synch on. I know this is video settings, but as you see I'm really desperate to find a solution. I highly doubt this will work, but who knows.

@@shtrudel9498 Oh. Well I turned it on and the audio wasn’t glitching during the games intro So, so far so good. And somehow it’s improves the games performance.
@@Patster7515 BTW Can you check in your volume mixer what the game is set at? For me it's 25% and the game refuses to change that, I was wondering if it's the same to you too.

The sequence goes (After your grab the enemy): YYY Y Y-XXX X-BBB B (the spaces indicate the pauses in the animation).
I bet you wern't aware of the Y inputs. It's not a huge deal though, because they don't deal alot of damage like X and B.
Is it still possible to switch to the red suit at the final boss if you go the evil path or are you stuck with black?

Probably because it would be mostly the same but longer.

@@cholestroll8937 becuse attacks on the red suit deal less damage then a average black suit apgrades damage but red suit is faster becuse the attacks are faster but black suit are little bit slower but more damage
@@cholestroll8937Red suit attacks are more oriented towards a single enemy while symbiote suit attacks are oriented more towards masses.
