These poor boys and their endless fights 💀 for a bit of storyline info:
They got a kind of power boost from the blue and green eyed cat which is also very addictive ofc. That's why they look so intoxicated. But the glitter and vines over them show the casualty of it. The more power they use, the more backlash they get. Also I guess they're on magic island because there's a train wreck in the sea which directly connects to the Magic Island mv.

Yes, I agree! The song itself is a “sugar” high. The high ethereal vocals followed by that anti drop. The song also builds tension and never releases, or they’re short releases before it builds more.
Also, my favorite visual is when Taehyun is flying, but then in the choreo he’s being dragged. It’s the feeling vs the reality.
And all the juxtaposition of innocence with temptation is perfect.

The thing with TXT is, everytime I start one of their song and think "okay, this one won't suit my taste" ... something just shut me up. They're suprising. Here I wasn't much enthusiastic until "I can feel..." ... and then my ears were catched. I might wait for you to listen the album x) ... might.

I think, at this point, your bias may be Yeonjun. 😂 Also, I agree with you about the meaning of the video, and the lyrics. This is not a romantic song, even if it seems like it is. They are indeed, addicted to this "sugar rush", and if you pay attention, the flowers Yeonjun and Soobin can be seen reaching to, may be the source of this "sugar rush", the "drug" in less words. And you can also see the realization with Beomgyu and the butterflies, at first, it seems like he doesn't mind them, he's appreciating them, but as the video goes on, he's running far from them, trying to hide from them in a cave, then, he can be seen trying to escape from that same cave. I'll be wating for the album review, I really really like your analysis! And sorry if this is not properly constructed, english is not my first language.
The fact that they dropped a song like this about not wanting to grow up 🤯🤯 It just amazes me
My theory is that Yeonjun is addicted to the flowers's syrup, Hueningkai is addicted to the nature there, Soobin is addicted to the water, Taehyun is addicted to the sensation of levitation, the fact that he can feel week and vulnerable (as if he had anemia) and Beomgyu is addicted to the butterflies. Beomgyu seems to be the first to exit the spell and the butterflies attack him, you can hear in the mv that the pixy dust sound turns into a whizzing sound. Taehyun seems to realize too cuz he returned to the ground, but Soobin and Yeonjun seem to be the most addicted as you can see Yeonjun almost high on the sensation and Soobin almost drowning himself. Hueningkai seems to be the only whom nothing happened and the the end he was the one to look back at the island so he isn't really ready to go. 😅idk, it's just a thought.

This song gives me frantic vibe. Idk why, it looks and sound energetic in some parts, but even in those parts, it was like something is wrong. Kinda makes me feel disoriented. I agree, it feels exactly like how one would feel when they are drunk

Yessss you get it, the end they were leaving like they’re fine and they can come back. Cause they have a song magic island with an mv and they did go to magic island and they got there by using a train . I don’t know if you noticed the train in the ocean wrecked in this mv. But in magic island mv things also didn’t end well. Also in the first mv they were also back at the magic island where they found the tent with the tarot reading person. So they have been here a few times in their story line and we definitely know magic island isn’t a good place. But they keep goinggg

There’s a lot of references in this MV to their short film Magic Island, which is technicality an MV but the song doesn’t play for most of the video. I highly recommend it!
i never click a video reaction so fast but when i saw yours in my tl I'll be ready. anyway if you notice, in the beginning of the video there's a train in the sea this is remind me of when they took a train to got into their magic island (mv)

So I didn’t realize it specifically until I watched your reaction, but the “come a little closer” line reminded me of the enhypen song… I think it was “drunk/dazed”, they’re talking about addiction and anemia and drinking. But there’s a ton of other parallels between the two songs. Kind of has me wondering if they have a crossover planned for their MV Universes?
I'm love with this song (and album) and your analysis is great! I just wanted to point out a funny detail in the coreo, that sign 👉👈, they make I suppose it's a allusion to an aegyo face of "asking for something" like "pretty please 🥺" which is amazing, but from where I came from it's a slang meaning "gay" and the first time I watched the video I laughed my ass off, a bit anticlimactic, but the video and the coreo are still amazing!

11:06 As an anemic person (is it how you say it ? Sorry English is not my first language) I can say that many - if not all - people who have anemia do experience some kind of daze. Let me explain : having anemia means you don't have enough iron in you blood, DG talked about some of the symptoms but he missed one, which often happens when we get up after sitting or laying down for a while, in my case my vision becomes almost black and I see millions of dots dancing in front of my eyes. I don't know if this is the kind of daze the lyrics mean about when they talk about anemia, but I instantly thought about it when I read them for the first time.

for me when I heard you analysing the MV I have a theory: if you followed the MV you could see Bomgyu always running from something throughout the whole video till the end when the beat changed you could see as if he was fighting the "addiction" till he fell and became like all of the other members as we can see them getting tempted from the beginning where as the end arrived,Kai looks as if he finally "woke up" when the others were still as if under a spell.I don't know if I made any sense

If a song manages to make dg smile you immediately know that the song has succeeded on being perfect. (Warning: Time-stamps are for DG's video not the actual MV and its just my opinion and what ive noticed) Also if you pay attention it looks like first to give in to the temptation was Yeonjun (2:19), shortly after.. Soobin gave in (2:25), followed by Huening Kai (2:37) and then Taehyun (2:47). Beomgyu looks like he is being tempted at 2:48 but he doesnt seem to give in (considering that during 2:31 to 2:47 everyone but Beomgyu is in this "trance" or euphoria whatever you want to call it). During the second pre-chorus (3:14) you can see all of them enjoying the state they are in but Beomgyu seems scared and stressed while he is moving backwards (3:17) as the lyrics say "Swallow the sugar rush" (which is on quotation marks meaning that they are just repeating by singing something said by someone or something. It looks like the temptations is getting stronger to a point that he is losing control) and then Beomgyu starts running away from the butterflies which could be representing "his" temptation, he is covering his ears as we hear an eerie sound (he is trying not to listen to the temptation but failing because its coming from inside his head). Unfortunately at 3:44 Beomgyu gets "consumed" by the temptation and gives in. Then they all enjoy it for a little more until the end where they realize that its something dark that destroys them so they walk to leave, Huening Kai turned and looked back which i honestly dont know how to translate it but i think him turning to look back almost represents that he is still tempted by "it" (considering it makes so much sense since the song indirectly talks about being addicted to something thats bad for you. Addictions are too tempting hence why its hard to "rehabilitate").

You actually got the whole interpretation pretty pat on...they were tempted and addicted to Neverland, but in the end, they realised that this wasnt their place for them, and so they left. BUT, Kai did turn his face back for a lingering look :D
