One thing to remember is that we're seeing Skar King when he's already an old man by Kong standards. Imagine what he was like in his prime when he faced Godzilla in the past.

I like to believe Skar King in his prime was strong enough to imprisoned Shimo. As time passes he slowly became insufferable which lowers his overall strength

What makes him repulsive is he knows how to emotionally manipulate others. He intentionally murdered Suko's guardian (?) just to mess with Kong. He takes sadistic pleasure in humiliating others.
I wonder if some entity inside of the Monsterverse will retrieve some of the dna from Skar King and use that towards a version of Biollante.

Kong is Stronger but slower. While Skar King is weaker but able to blitz Kong multiple times.
Kong is IMMEDIATELY showing kindness to the apes, while Skar King is a ruthless Dictator who uses fear and intimidation towards them.

I like that Skar King didn't rely on his size or any special ability, but instead used his intelligence, his weapons, and his control over Shimo to his advantage, it made him feel more unique when compared to the other MonsterVerse villains.
Yeah, definitely a breath of fresh air in the kaiju genre. Still, here’s hoping we see more classic Toho monsters if Legendary can get the rights - Biollante, Gigan, Anguirus, Hedorah, SpaceGodzilla, or even just Rodan back. Destoroyah I’d save for the grand finale like Thanos.
Sometimes brains is better than brawn. That's why even though I'm smaller than the average person, I like to think of myself as using strategic thinking, outlining the weak points of bigger people should we ever have a problem. Only in self defense obviously :) ❤
True, but unfortunately most Godzilla fans think that a kaiju is a good villain only if the strongest monster of the movie until Godzilla get the next power up. Skar had more personality and brain than 90% of Toho villains.

Physically, he is the weakest out of all the monsterverse villains, but his strenght was in the mind. He is the smartest villain out of all so far and his ability to control shimo and an entire army of apes makes him the biggest threat in the MV

Skar King is just too cool of a villain to never be seen again. I wish he had more screen time and I love how they characterize his personality to show how evil, sadistic, and power hungry he really is.
I agree. It would have been better to have escape at the end. And wait in the dark to take his revenge against Kong and shimo. Like by allying the next villains of the monsterverse and backstab him at the end when Godzilla and the others would be weak to take revenge on them only for him to be killed by said villain he weakened after then allowing Godzilla and Kong to triumph. 😅
Imo would been cooler if he could Skar king could beat Kong at high difficulty.
The fact that Skar King was able to hold his own against Kong at all despite being old is pretty impressive, makes you wonder what he was like when he was in his prime.

@mikays7059 Why wouldn't he be stronger before? With old age, you lose muscle mass and athletic ability. This is most likely the case for skar king.
He lost to godzilla in the ancient war, in farm it was skar king AND his army who lost to godzilla, and that was a much much weaker godzilla

Ghidorah was imprisoned in ice.
Scar King imprisoned his subjects in an underground Lava pit.

Yes. Imagine if Kong fought Skar King in his prime it would had been a more difficult fight. Even Godzilla who fought Skar King at the time of the war couldn’t kill him, only seal him away.

Of course he wasn’t as Powerful as Godzilla or Shimo but I think people in the community are downplaying him too much. He is probably the most agile combatend in the entire Monsterverse!

The people in the community always downplay the Ape/Monkey Titans because they don't have superpowers, abilities etc. Kong gets shit on the regular for just being an ape when he is the smartest Titan.

I have a theory that the crystal Skar King uses is what also causes his eyes to glow. Maybe he ingested a piece of it so that the power within it would forever be a part of him, but when Suko broke it, it severed the connection and evaporated the power completely.

Skar King is like the first true MonsterVerse villain. He started a war between 2 species and he had personality.
Skar King was definitely a great villain in the monsterverse. He was cruel, cunning, and ambitious. If it wasn't for his physical capabilities being so low compared to stronger previous villains (possibly due to old age), Skar King probably would have exceeded the hype around him. Still, Skar King did at least live up to his expectations, even if he himself wasn't a threat that warranted Godzilla evolving. Skar King is definitely a great, memorable villain in the monsterverse.
I beleive godzilla evolved because I think he could sense shimo and prob knew about the scar king, also godzilla prob wasnt expecting kong to help him or come ask for his help, so I think godzilla thought he would be fighting shimo and scar king by himself so thats why he had to upgrade
Skar King might have not been the strongest villain but his superpower was his intelligence

I personally think Skar King was a better overall villain than Mechagodzilla. He just had a more unique personality than MG. Also he is just more intriguing, as he has more of a history (lore wise) with both the main two kaijus in the Monsterverse. As he was the one that started the war between the Gojira species and Great Apes. Even fought Godzilla himself, while he was defeated. It was still a bold thing for him to do. The best evidence of their history was when could see fear and hate in his eyes when he heard Godzilla’s roar. Also with Kong as his parents and others might’ve disobeyed him and left and migrated to Skull Island and the rest is history. Plus while yes Skar King was not the most powerful. He was dangerous enough to the point that he could challenge and almost kill Kong. He was more skilled, more experienced, more merciless, and more things than Kong. Not to mention he outsmarted Kong in their first fight. I’ve heard so many people say that he was weak and would easily get killed by just about any kaiju. I disagree for the reasons I mentioned. So overall I would say that he lived up to the hype in most ways but not all of them. And he is my second favorite MV villain, with my favorite being Ghodorah.

They need to make a Godzilla B.C. Live-Action Spin-Off TV Series with little human characters just like we could see the Ancient Titan War and how Skar King became corrupted and orchestrated the Titan War.
he is definitely one of the best Monsterverse villains. he just has soo much personality. Kong's still my favourite Kaiju. Skar King doesn't even come close to my top 5 favourite Kaijus.
Remember that Scar King is at least 2 billion years old meaning that we now have canonical proof that Kongs can live that long also old age and treachery

Skar King is very old and scrawny, he is clearly not in his prime any more. Skar in his prime was an absolute monster. Matter of fact, I think he is the one that killed the giant Gojira seen in GvK where Kong finds the axe - that may have been Shimos mate, so he has killed an EVEN larger ice dragon. Then he became complacent and relied on Shimo, a bit like Supreme Leader Snoke from Star Wars relying on Kylo Ren and his enforcers.
Honestly the Skar king was a bit underwhelming. Compared to the other monsters we saw he was physically weak !

I liked Skar King because of his villainous personality. Him taking control over Shimo and having the guts to face the brute Kong, now this is a tyrannical villain.

His first impression was quite threanting actually, showing Godzilla and Kong's skull in the very first teaser trailer and I was excited to see more of him in the movie. I was kind of disappointed when he didn't attempt to fight back for his dignity right after being overpowered by Kong and instead used his secret weapon immdiately(or maybe that was his way of showing his power). Although I think his personality was really fitting to his character as a dominator of the apes which is one of my favorite factors about him (as well as his facial expressions). I was really looking forward to see him more in action, being a deadly villain more than Mecha G and possibly outsmarting Kong and Godzilla somehow, intead of running away from G's atomic breath forever and get his ass kicked by a giant ape and a nuclear lizard, seemingly humiliting him.
Skar King was like the Joker. He didn't need to be as powerful as King Ghidorah or Mechagodzilla, because he was smarter and much more evil. He used other titans to be a threat, and Shimo was his final weapon.
We need more info about The Titan war and King Ghidorah arrival.
It was Great seeing Kong fighting an Ape villain for the 1st time in a Live-Action movie now we need to see Gorosaurus, Ebirah, Kumonga, Giant Cave Bear and Mechani-Kong for Future Kong Solo movies.

Skar King reminds me of a mastermind class; Mr. Glass, Joker, etc.. One thing that stood out, besides his agility, was seeing his anime posses...that added some uniqueness to his character.

Though he wasn't the most powerful titan out there, like Ghidorah or Mechagodzilla, Scar King was able to utilize his intelligence, deception, and cruelty to make him a world-level threat in my opinion. Also, what I like most about Scar King is that he wasn't just an enemy not to underestimate, it’s his whole character that shows us that in a species whether humanity or titan, there are those, that embody the worst traits that make us highly imperfect.
Skarking in his prime was probably much faster and stronger he enslaved an entire army of Kong and Shimo.

Skar King was utterly wasted. All that hype for nothing. He should have been a significant threat for both Godzilla and Kong and outside of his introduction, he was merely an inconvenience to them.
Nah I'll admit Skar King was trash. They hyped him and Shimo as the mystery kaiju up but only for them really to just shine at the end of the film. Kinda wasted and lame in my opinion. Should've been a little more build up.

Imo, he was really underpowered compared to other titans.His agility is really good, which helps and him having control of shimu is how i imagine he stayed king??he just fot whooped by Kong fast and had to call out the other apes and then shimu..Like i said idk,imo he was way underpowered 🤷🏼♂️
I really dont understand this type of videos of Scar King. Im the only one who thinks the trailers kind of over hyped Skar King and yes he could maybe have won against Kong 1 v 1. With his Pet shimo it was 2 much for Kong. But G man violated him. G man also showed that he could tank Shimos ice beam. So no, i dont think Skar king was anything special. And was a bit disappointing how easy they offed him...
I didn't mind how easily he got beat because it made sense because from what we've known from the film, he Only ever fought one person at a time.
And I loved how, as far as the humanoid Titans go, he's by far the weakest one but compensates for it with the rest of his being. Like next to Godzilla and Kong, he's the only Titan with a human-like range of facial expressions. And honestly the hype up to his introduction is way more badass than Ghidorah's. And his movements instantly reminded me of Joker from The Batman cartoon.
Skar King could have created a new Ice Age, that would have killed billions, human, animal and Kaiju alike. Yup, definitely a potential threat to all. Loved him as a character. Loved him getting his by GxK

@Real_Rangofan6008 He is a threat. You don't have to only be an OP kaiju with so many abilities to be a massive threat. Sometimes brains are better than brawn. When you think about it, skar king was so intelligent and smart that he inslaved a bunch of kongs, and more impressively imprisoned shimo. He was shown to be a crafty villain and likes to intimidate. And even as a fighter, he is still pretty descent. He may not be as physically strong as kong, but he sure is way more agile and faster and is skilled with weapons unlike any other great ape we have seen. Not even kong is as skilled. And the warbat whip or just any whip in general takes alot of skill to use as a weapon. He is the most intelligent titan in the mv as of right now. And he was smart enough to cause the world ending ice age. So yeah, he is a threat. A major threat.

Shimo has literally been confirmed to be one of the most powerful titans and on par (if not stronger) than godzilla. They wouldn’t have made a movie if Skar King, Shimo and his army weren’t a threat.
@@Hippo-Tusk They tried but failed. Shimo got tackled by Godzilla and they didn't get much screentime proving they are a threat. Shimo is a threat on paper before you have recorded it.
While Skar Kings portrayal wasnt quite as threatening on his own as he should have been, he definitely isnt a weak villain either. Those of you arguing about how he compares to ghidorah and mechagodzilla are missing the point of Skar Kings particular brand of threat. He was intelligent and malicious. It doesnt take brute strength to cause utter chaos, just the worst intentions and sheer determination. For all that stood in his way, Skar King was clever enough to contest the king of the monsters and even succeeded in briefly reaching the surface. Had Godzilla not evolved then Shimo likely would have caused the new ice age and skar king wouldve won. Give the monkey credit where credits due lol. No, he couldnt 1v1 ghidorah... he could totally devise a way to take him out if not enslave him though

I am all in for the villain power ranking list, and since there will be a lot of contreversy imma give my take on ghidorah vs shimo since we all know that that's who it'll come down to. Assuming you use movie feats, since if we take into account the novelization shimo wins, ghidorah takes the cake in my opinion, but one thing I want to clear out before I beggin is the missconception that evovled godzilla's beam is stronger than pre evovled's, now to be clear cuz a lot of ppl get confused with this, am not saying pre evovled godzilla is stronger, that is beyond a joke, I am however saying that his beam does more damage, the best indication of that is when he shots skar on the shoulder with a supercharged beam, and that's because the same happened to kong in gvk with a non charged beam, if you take a look at the aftermath kong's back is severly burned and torched while skar has little to no damage done, only injury I could find been 2 bold spots that weren't even burned, so that's the one part, the other one is that a non charged beam from evolved goji couldn't push shimo back a single feet, despite compeltly stunning her, while the blue beam (while nuke amped tho) pushed ghidorah back thousands of feet, and yeah shes heavier BUT ghidorah is the closest kaiju to her wieght class so there is no better comparasion. Also a few more points on why ghidorah wins in my opinion is that shimo would automatically freeze the oceans, rendering the devil's gratest weakness obsolite, and also that shimo seemed to struggle when it came to keeping up with multiple attacks at once, due to her slow moving nature, so ghidorah been able to attack from 3 seperate angles will be a real trouble, lastly shimo freezing ghidorah doesn't really count since she was aided by the big g and mothra while if we calculate how long it too to create a layer of ice around skar or goji (yes, I sadly did that, and I never plan to do it again) it would take 2 to 3 minutes to create an ice layer thick enough to possibly defeat ghidorah, and since he doged literal light beams I dont think she has a chance of landing it for that long.

I think Skar is agile enough to dodge Ghidorah's gravity beams. Also, it may not be as powerful as pink atomic breath which he took and kept running. He might be able to give Ghidorah a hard time catching him and using objects around as weapons if he does not have his spine whip.
Skar King is definitely the most evil Monsterverse villain in the franchise so far, Ghidora & Mechagodzilla were intimidating due to their size but for Skar King it was his actions that made him intimidating & seeing how the other kongs were treated under his rule is more than enough to take him seriously.
You're overselling Scar King. Kong, while at first was unfamiliar with the way Scar King fought, was able to overpower Scar King despite the Scar King having Kong in a choke with the whip. He did not take hits from Godzilla's atomic breath he was trying to dodge them the entire time because he couldn't do so. There was nothing about his agility that "evened the playing field" vs Godzilla as he was dodging for his life the entire time with no real way to counter attack. He tried to use his whip vs Godzilla and that got immediately destroyed by Godzilla in the process. Both Godzilla and Kong easily handled him like he was fodder with the only real threat being Shimo.
Yeah. He’s not that impressive. Honestly would have been better if he was an actual threat in combat on his own.still love his personality and presence. Design is cool too.

While he was unique to his kind, he was weak compared to kong, lost to kong in their first fight and honestly got his ass kicked in the end. It was great but at no point did I feel like he was going to be a threat. Not counting shimo.

one thing more to wonder about is his his eyes were still moving after being ice blasted by shimo meaning he wasn't frozen completely through so when kong slammed him on the ground , yeah there were pieces of meat flying around but they could be only his hands or feet , so it maybe possible he isn't dead and will return someday as being amputated but filled with venegance and probably a pretty good plan too to makeup for his amputated body

I like how the picosecond he lost the crystal, he stopped being a threat. Not even using Suko as a hostage brought him any advantages.
I actually have a fan theory about skar king for why he may nit be as strong as people expected.
Skar was apperantly old in the movie and wasnt sheer poweful, however he had so much intelligence and was a baddass, a ruthless dictator with nothing to lose when getting what he wants. But what if during the time when godzilla trapped him, skar was in his actual prime and was one of the most op titans in the monsterverse. Like think about it this way, he managed to inslave so many kongs, and most impressively, he even captured shimo. But we don't really now how he did it. If he didn't have the crystal, then do you think he had to use either his intelligence or he some how over powered shimo and got her captured? And you can take it into consideration when in the first teaser for godzilla x kong the new empire. Skar king was sitting on his thrown and as it zooms out from him, we see so many piles of bones of other kaiju. What if he was so powerful that he could of killed so many other kaiju and he uses those bones as treasure or as weapons that we dont see. Some people actually even theorised that he could of been a gojira killer back in his prime days. He is seasoned with so much experience and even started the titan war (mabye). Idk, he wasnt explored in as much as i hoped. We didn't get to see enough of him. Tbh im not too fussed about it because the final cut showed skar king as one of the most baddass and sadistic villains i've seen in the franchise. He is crafty, powerful and intelligent to the point of making godzilla evolved. This was such a good movie.

@dogbones8976 if he stayed around fir like one more movie then we would get more out of him. Mabye we might see a mechanakong and skar king posses it. Like mecha godzilla and ghidorah
@@bereketkibrom9716 yeah i'm actually imagining it in human angle like you've seen those movies where the hero beats the villians badly and amputate or physically mutilate him and people think the villian is dead but he comes back with a plan and and full of venegance and since he's physically handicapped he will use his brain to full power and proxies to get what he wants and i think scar king is intelligent enough for this
my take on it:- an evil corporation like Apex Cybernetics gets it's hand on a near dead skar king and they cure him , the same organisation also uses ghidorah remaining skull trying to regenerate his body using hollow earth energy but something goes off and he was only able to partially regenerate his body so they compensated rest of his body with machines so they end up creating a partial mecha titan but this time instead of a human like Ren Serizawa co-piloting it with ghidorah it will be skar king's brain co-piloting it with king ghidorah's consiousness , imagine that bro it would be so OP , imagine skarking's and ghidorah's evil intelligence coming together in a semi-mechagnised titan

Godzilla X Kong was BY FAR the worst and its Tohos fault. Skar King Was nerfed by toho because they were afraid he would be too popular. Two years ago he was bigger than godzilla and kong and was sitting on his throne (dwarfing the throne) with godzilla and kongs skulls. He had glowing eyes (which they dont use or explain) and MASSIVE arms. When Toho got more involved they nerfed him down and FORCED legendary to add Shimo (an old toho anguirus design) to weaken scarking and his influence, Godzilla became so OP he looked to be four times as strong as shimo. Mothera was OP as well, she took no damage. Meanwhile the American made titans die in 2 seconds (tiamat and scilla). The power of Godzilla ruined the movie for me along with the nerfing of Skar King, Tiamat, Scilla, AND Kong (they dont even have the balls to give him his electric powers). Movie was a WASTED opportunity for legendary.

He was a big dumb red monkey..wasn't even that strong. No abilities. All he had was shimo..and that's it. Was the most BORING and WEAK titan. Ghidorah was way more badass and felt like an actual threat. He was so weak they honestly didn't even need godzilla in this movie..was a waste of godzillas talent. You people keep crying electricity as if that would change anything. Godzilla doesn't even have his almost instantaneous regeneration abilities in these movies or his abilities to absorb lighting. Scar king and kong having electricity wouldn't change anything. Scar king was just LAME AF...bring in a real godzilla threat like destroyah or space godzilla. Kong can battle his easy Scar king.

I do have to note, his intelligence is actually questionable in terms of battle. Everyone knows Godzilla is more powerful than Kong, Skar should too after facing them both. Despite this, he takes the time to giggle while Shimo holds down Kong while Godzilla is right behind him charging up his spiral ray. Had Godzilla not announced his intentions with a roar, chances are the Skar King would've died then and there.
Edit: in terms of being the most evil....I dunno....Ghidorah taking sick pleasure in slaughtering everything on the planet is more generally evil than Skar King's tyranny. Skar took the time to scare some people, but Ghidorah took the time to eat them alive, using his beam attacks against them, and single them out in sick delight.
