I am a old Thai lady in sixties. I am surprised at your comment. I learnt Thai history at the school. Thai immigrated from China down to the south and established Sukotai kingdom. When Thai officials visited China, they met Thai and were amused by old Thai language.

I am from the 60s, myself and my grandfather, who is 105 years old (born1850) before he passed away, live in both countries and know most of the history of Thai and Khmer. He wrote an event and I still have it today. I am certain that I will become familiar with the history based on that.

However less time Lanna kingdom got some more Buddhism Theravada elements from Bagan.

It is clear that Pyu Burmese kingdoms were in contact with several Indian kingdoms in the south,east as well as north but stood in tutelary relationships to none. From the earliest evidence Pyu Buddhist writing, art architecture shows processes of adaptation at work that laid the foundation of distinctive Burmese traditions of Buddhism within the greater Buddhist euumene ( crd to ASajji)

Dvaravati got more Hindu and Mahayana influence.
The Sema stone and Dhama chakra are the symbol of Theravada, spreaded in Isan region and part of Cambodia.
And no evidence that connected between Dvaravati and pyu about religional exchange such as architecture elements from pyu or loan words in the inscriptions.
Instantly the srithep stupa used the Indian elements from Gupta art directly such as the base of stupa - direct structure and pattern from Gupta art. Or the hindu statue such as Suriya deva or sun god and Buddha statue standing in "tribhanga formation" especially Buddha statue sitting with the hand sign of the first teching for the First Five Disciples is a duplication of Gupta art. this is an evidence that srithep got some indian influence directly from various way of trading routes.
More over the pyu people aren't the Burmese, the Burmese came from China later around 7-8CE. The ancient pyu people suspected to be speaker of Sino-tibetan language however it's different from Burmese family language.
Now the Pyu language is considered as an extinct language . And Arakan people claim that they are the successors of Pyu

ส่งผลให้ชาวขอมร่วมแรงร่วมใจกันแบ่งบริจาคแรงงานทาสเขมรในเรือนของตนเองให้มาใช้แรงงานขนหิน ดิน ทรายในการก่อสร้าง(เสมือนหนึ่งว่าตนเองและครอบครัวได้มาทำการก่อสร้างด้วยตนเอง) โดยมีวิศวกรชาวขอมที่เจริญรุ่งเรืองทั้งทางด้านวิศวกรรมศาสตร, คณิตศาสตร์, สถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์, ดาราศาสตร์ และงานปฏิมากรรม ที่ยังอยู่ในสายเลือดชาวขอมจนถึงยุคปัจจุบัน(ส่วนมากก็เป็นชนชั้นปกครอง ขุนนาง ปุโรหิต ในสมัยนั้น)เป็นผู้ออกแบบและควบคุมงาน
เหมือนที่ชาวขอม(สยาม)ในปัจจุบันก็ยังคงใช้แรงงานทาสเขมรในการก่อสร้างตึกสูง, ทางด่วน, รถไฟฟ้า, รถไฟความเร็วสูง ฯลฯ ให้ลูกหลานชาวขอมได้ใช้งานอย่างสะดวกสบายในราชอาณาจักรสยามเหมือนเดิม โดยมีชาวขอมทั่วไปในราชอาณาจักรสยามเป็นผู้จ่ายภาษีอากร มีชาวขอมเป็นผู้ออกแบบและควบคุมการก่อสร้าง
พันกว่าปีผ่านไป ชาวขอม(สยาม)เคยใช้แรงงานทาสเขมรมาอย่างไร ทุกวันนี้ก็ยังเป็นแบบนั้น ต่างกันนิดเดียวที่บรรพบุรุษชาวขอมโบราณใช้แส้และหวายในการเฆี่ยนตีควบคุมแรงงานทาสเขมร(ที่ครัวเรือนชาวขอมบริจาคมาเป็นศาสนบูชา) แต่ชาวขอมในปัจจุบันใช้เงินตราและสวัสดิการเป็นเครื่องควบคุมแรงงานทาสชาวเขมรเหล่านี้
ความสัมพันธ์ขอม(สยาม)กับเขมรพันกว่าปีเคยเป็นมาอย่างไรก็จะยังเป็นไปแบบนั้น และจะเป็นแบบนั้นต่อไปอีกหลายพันปี.
