Without seeing the head I'm not 100% sure but I believe there are 2 internal clips that you need to release through slots in the cover part of the head, (side with the bump button)
I have 2 of the old school red max trimmers, they both use the red heads for string. I actually bought 2 extra heads because they hold more string. So, you make 2 separate lines, broth the same length. I keep a piece of line cut to the optimum length and save it as a template to cut more string from. Next, use pliers to make a 90 degree bend on 1 end of each string. Clip and trim the bend to appx 3/4 inch on each string. Put each string in the holes on the vertical inside edge of the reel. Wind both strings at the same time, in a clockwise direction. Use your index finger to keep each string separated while winding both strings at the same time. The goal is to keep both strings on left side and right side of spool. Try to keep both strings smooth so you don’t make any gully’s as you wind. When you reach the end, one string threads through one eyelet, the other string through the remaining eyelet. Trim any extra long line using the guard cutter blade as a guide. These old red heads hold a lot more line, but you need a more powerful engine/model to handle the red heads. Hope this helps I’ve been using these for 30 years, thank you, Jim.

If your inquiring about an extra carb I would get rid of No I do not. Here is the current part number for a replacement carb 515421101, just Google this number and you can find new carbs for around $25 US dollars.
If your unit is a BC2300DL, 2600DL, 3400DL or BC4400DW the part number is 6460-24100 and I can't find one online, best guess would to be watch EBAY for the part or a parts unit. May be able to use a universal fit guard. Good Luck
Another clear cut case of too much oil in the gas .Ive found dozens of trimmers at the the dump that seemed to have good compression .. why are you here Id ask myself .. then three days later they are in the front yard earning me 60 or 100 bucks .. go figure .. some folks just have more money than brains or they really believe its a throw away device .when it doesnt work they just go buy another.I should mention that most of them are junk though .. this one seems great
No money just a charge card and no brains, most people believe we live in a disposable world and if the neighbor buy something new then they need too also. l always drive a round town night before trash pick up find some good picks and some parts picks

If I'm observant which I was I noticed that the mounting bolt installation goes counter-clockwise but you didn't mention it and it makes a difference.
