Hi there great video just one small thing I think there is a mistake with the definition of the threshold frequency. I think you accidentally put the emission of a photon rather than electron
you are correct! : ) It should say "electron". Thanks!
Yes to should say that s photo required to pull out an electron
I think it happens again at 13:29 "emission of photons"
I must thank you for your amazing videos, they are clear, enjoyable to watch and extremely helpful as they are for the course I am studying.
Thanks for watching, great to hear!
amazed to see that all this great and logical explanation is only 25 minutes.
Thank you so much for this
Great to hear this is helpful! Thank you so much for the comment!
Sir, I did the paper 2 yesterday and everything you taught came up! I saw an experiment question on leds and plancks constant and had a fat smile on my face. THANK YOUUU
Glad to hear! Anytime!
Just brilliant. I dont have words for this video. It's been 3 days im trying to make a plan to study quantum for the first time and this video cleared all in just a sitting of 25 minutes! 🙌 legend
Thank you so much for the comment!! Honestly, comments like these genuienly make my day. Glad this is useful!
great detailed vid with a solid clear explanation. Straight to the point.
Thanks a lot! : )
By far the best explanation out there
I really had a hard time understanding quantum mechanics my exams are this may (from May 9)
Thank you ♡
Glad to hear this is useful! Thank you for the kind words!
What’s your component?
How did it go
Hi from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 my brother I really appreciate your content. Keep on Making physics a fun subject to learn
thank you so much for all your videos! unfortunately my a level teacher can't teach very well but you explain everything so well!
Amazing explanations! great summary :)
thanks a lot!
Highly talented and most passionate teacher ever!!!! Thank uuu for everything u provide!!!!
Thank you so much for the kind comment! Very much appreciated!
great video. I think its gonna be u that gets me through physics a level
hehe here to help! thanks for the comment!
very clear and detailed explanations, thanks!
anytime! thanks for the comment!
You just made quantum physics Soo easy I’m confident for my AL exams tomorrow
Fantastic, good luck in the exam, you got this!
Thank you so much sir!!!!!!!
Anytime!
thank u so much u make my life is more easier
Glad to hear that!
a teach sent from heaven
Hah thanks for your comment!
thankss so much!! it's so helpful to me :D
Glad to hear! Thanks for the comment!
8:01 second point, where you talk about (f0), --> (to release a photon) or (to release an electron), probably electron.
Yep!
The threshold frequency is the frequency of light that carries enough energy to dislodge an electron from the surface of a metal.
definition in video states: remove a PHOTON from the surface...
Already states in previous comments and the description that it's a simple mix up of language : ) notes are correct.
Thanks man ❤
Anytime!
At 17:46 you've mentioned UV light twice but with contradicting statements.. did you mean to say visible light first and then UV light? Thanks! Other than that this video is really helpful!
You are correct, thanks for spotting it!
@@zhelyo_physics No worries!! I'm just going through all your videos before the exam on thursday :)
Great Video, highly appreciated!!!. I just had one question, why did you multiply the K.E by 2 at around 18:30?
So as KE=1/2mv^2, rearrange for the velocity we would get sqrt sqrt(2KE/m)
Actually incredible, helped me out so much with some late revision lmao XD
Glad to hear! Thank you for the comment!
Hello! Have you covered, absorption and emisson line spectra?
I have! : ) ua-cam.com/video/VzDlhC2kVF8/v-deo.htmlsi=vPWwhu_Tc8ckfqps Let me know if anything doesn't make sense
hi sir, what can we say about the formation of the concentric rings for the electron diffraction experiment?
I believe the mark scheme quotes the polycrystalline structure of graphite as the reason. I think there was a question on this recently. Another thing to note is that as you increase the voltage the spacing between the rings will decrease. Great experiment!
Correction : Threshold frequency is minimum amount of photon frequency needed to remove electron from a metal .
I think this is what u meant
It is! Thanks!
wonderful thankss
No problem! : )
who else is here a night before
good luck today!
is that all we need to know for wave particle dual (towards the end)?
Mostly yes, I would just use your syllabus/specification as a checklist to ensure you have covered everything
Is this a part of 9702 p4
hello sir,did you make a video on electromagnetic induction?
of course! ua-cam.com/video/RjY5bZ4Bl8o/v-deo.html
Amazing video
thanks a lot for the comment! : )
@@zhelyo_physics No problem. Got a physics mock soon for my first year and they're testing us on Full AS. This announcement was a curveball, and likely your videos have been helping out
Sounds like this playlist might be useful: ua-cam.com/play/PLSygKZqfTjPC3hJ7nRSnnXTw3tI_o67dR.html Good luck on the mock!
@@zhelyo_physics haha that's exactly what I've been using
@@zhelyo_physics Oh also, I'm doing the AQA spec. Except the various practicals we gotta do, is there any differences I should watch out for when learning with your vids?
13:19 should say "...to release a photon frequency to release an ELECTRON from the surface of a metal..."
thanks for spotting this
@@zhelyo_physicsNo problem
sir are there any detailed videos on the topics covered in this one?
ua-cam.com/play/PLSygKZqfTjPCb6uhtv2dsWTNf72KkbBZt.html Enjoy! : )
Sir I don't see the planks LED experiment and gold lead experiment in 2022 Cambridge A levels syllabus? Is it included or not?
Are photons and light the same thing? I can't visualise a particle containing light while also having zero mass.
excellent question. Yes, a photon is a particle of light. A good way to visualise it, if it strikes a metal, it will release an electron. That electron will have momentum, that has come from somewhere. Hope this helps!
18:50 my calculated answer is 4.917 and engineered answer is 491.7x10^9
Hello Sir, posting from an anon account because well I am embarassed and scared at the same time, I have my physics paper 4 exam on the 13th of May, I can still not solve yearlies independently - I do understand it through a youtube video / those pp solution videos but the i feel that the concepts aren't stored in my memory, I keep forgetting, I did topical pp of the chapters that I struggled with already, but even for those chapters, I can't keep the concepts in mind
I don't have a decent grade in AS physics and don't know what to expect for A2, nor do I have v supportive college teachers who really understand (at least for physics) -
+ The amount of resources is insane, no one notes describe the complete concepts, every time i open a different set of notes there's something new to learn
I know this ain't the place to rant, but since you have always been so repsonsive with the comments, I would appreciate if you could please give some suggestions :(
You can do it! Never give up, but also don't put excessive pressure on yourself.
If you understand things through videos/looking at solutions etc - great - that's a step up in the right direction.
For keeping the concepts in mind I recommend spaced repetition. Other students that I have spoken to recommend Anki flash cards that you make yourself to help you remember (I have not tried it myself but others recommend it highly, if you do your own flash cards -include as much detail as possible)
Keep doing past past papers and remember to not put too much pressure on yourself. Good luck and drop a comment if something in particular doesn't make sense!
@@zhelyo_physics Thank you so much sir, grateful
i could be in the wrong but both me and my teacher are in agreement. at time 6.27, you talk some about the threshold frequency and say that it is the energy required to release a photon. this may have been picked up already, but should it not be a photoelectron?
Hi, you are both correct! It's just a slip of the tongue, I meant to say photoelectron. Hope this helps! : )
I don't understand😢
thankssss
Anytime!
19:05 got me confused and deaf because of how you repeated the same thing and suddenly started talking loud on mic
''The emission of photons depends only on the frequency of light, not on the intensity'' ----> I'm a bit confused as i thought it should say ''emission of electrons''. can you please explain?
Hi, I meant to say emission of electrons. My bad! Thanks!
sorry i don't mean to be annoying but thank you for your quick response!@@zhelyo_physics
YOU ARE THE GUY FR
Glad this is useful! Good luck revising!
Sir ow there video on Stephan boltzman theory
Hi, do you mean the Stefan Boltzmann Law? It is included in my astrophysics video here: ua-cam.com/video/4Ws2A6hsrI0/v-deo.html Hope this is helpful!
Sir do you have a video on alternating current?
not yet but on the list of my ideas it goes! : )
I have a test on this in like 10 mins 😅
Good luck!
Hi Sir, do you have a video on the de Broglie wavelength?
Hi! The theory is given in this video, you can use this time stamp: ua-cam.com/video/-Su7gcUSyps/v-deo.html
I have also done a practice question here: ua-cam.com/video/matp0FVl6sI/v-deo.html
how do i work out wavelength
typically just given with the paperwork of the LEDs : )
hc/e
What about wave particle duality
Hi, it's at 22:30
