I recently converted my 1917 Western Electric to hand crank. The motor still works but the wiring was bad and had to be shortened to work and it is easier to hand crank than operate the pedal with my hand and it now sews fabulously... But where do I get needles for it? and those little spindle bobbins any suggestions would be appreciated.

Can you use fuel alcohol and where did you get your lint brushes?

Thank you for sharing these kind of videos, they're invaluable! I've been referencing some of them to help conserve my Singer 115 from 1919. What kind of alcohol do you recommend for cleaning?

I recently got a Singer 15-91 and cabinet. The seller told me it's missing the screws for the table to hide the machine away. Do you know what kind of screw that is?
Love watching your videos! They are teaching me good tips and tricks to keep my new baby working like a dream, once she gets back from the repair shop that is. She haddent been used much in 30 years and the owner before that worked on leather so I figgured a check up by a pro would be a good idea.

You can often find those screws on eBay. Search for Singer cabinet machine screws.

What did technicians use to clean these in the 1900s? I doubt isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs were readily available…

Likely Kerosene, but it is NOT a good idea indoors and it can take a very long time to evaporate. The odors from the alcohol are not great, but they dissipate a lot more quickly.
