    Just came across this. I'm using survivorcord xt which is a type 4 750 cord with 3 extra strands in it. My first attempt ended up being short by about 6 inches using the measurements for 550 cord. Just my advice that anyone using specialty cord allow probably 10 to 20 feet extra on the working strands. It'll prevent cutting too short and having to start over since a lot of specialty cord is really expensive. I'm combining this with the SOG belt buckle multitool. Definitely the ultimate survival belt if a little expensive.

      Thank you. I previously made a 550 cord belt for my husband. He wanted another and im using 750 cord this time. This just saved me a huge headache 🥰

    Great tutorial, I finally got around to making a belt for myself. If anyone else is making a belt around for ~35inch waist (88cm) and doesn't want short pieces of paracord you can use at minimum 10m of the rope that goes through all 3 strand at the very beggining (in this video black) and 11m of the rope that is in the middle (in this video camo) instead of the ~12.5m as suggested. This will save you from some of the scraps and in case you have 100ft (30m) of paracord you can easily use it for 2 belts.

    Nice project and video! For my retention loop I used micro paracord and did a king cobra weave, turned out great. Thank you!

      I used additional retention loops to create a place for my clip-on knife sheathe. You are right to use smaller cord. The 550, 425, 325, and 275 were all too thick to accommodate the space in the sheathe. I used 95 cord, and even that was borderline.

    Just made my 2nd belt using this technique. It makes your fingers hurt. I took 2 days to make 1, its a long process. And just a side note, you should add a few inches to the 2 core strands. I had plenty side cord left and wanted to have a little more belt but with the measurements you give for the middle core strands are off a few inches.

      Also I don't have a jig but i found that without one I can stick the buckle in a bottom dresser drawer and stick my feet against the drawer sitting on the carpet to hold the drawer shut. I can sit comfortably while keeping the buckle in place. It might not work for everyone but for me it was the best alternative to not having a jig. I can make a perfect 40 inch belt start to finish in under three hours just from watching this video.

  • @eastonvonschist2283

    To me it would be easier to hang the piece from about head height and eliminate the jig all together. Of course that would require standing up to tie it but it works great!

    Hey! Did a bllack and ten one. Wasn't sure how to end ... lmao! It's very Corporate looking. Their clothes fall apart.
    Anywho see ya did the double core too so that should help me end.
    Maybe do a Blue speckled and Tan for boating next mo.

    Leather Supply Stores have better buckles.
    Bought a Paracord Belt off Amazon and the buckle broke on my plastic banquet table leg. Really cheap stuff ! It 's my math table.
    I just hang them off my Kosi. And try not to step on the cords when pulling them through. Rubber bands help.
    Cheers! Thanks !

    Very nice. I made a couple of double cobra paracord belts in the past, before there were video tutorials for it. I haven't made any more because its so cumbersome to pass the hundreds of feet of cord through the loops. You make it look easy, any tips?

    • @ParacordPlanet
      @ParacordPlanet  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, the long cords is the hardest part about this design! You can tie your cord into bundles or "hanks" to make it a little easier.

    In the video, you have the weave be just 40', but in the picture tutorial on your website, it has you multiple your waist length by 12 and then add 6'. Is there any reason for this? Which one is correct?

    I would like to use this as a camera strap. The others I've seen for this are too narrow. I can replace the buckle with one D ring but how would I put a D ring at the opposite end?

    • @ParacordPlanet
      @ParacordPlanet  3 роки тому +1

      I would suggest making the base setup more like a bracelet in that case. Before you start weaving, set up the core strands with cow hitches on both ends. Since this is a double-wide cobra, you will need to construct two "bracelets" side by side.
