Do you know the read/write speeds of the different SSD´s inside the Mac Mini M1 ? I may get the first gen Mac Mini M1 if the second gen gets more expensive, I will like to have more ports and that the issues with the first gen have been erased.
I am 57 years old and have been in Windows Tech Support since 1997. I bought my first apple product this year, an iPad 11 Pro, 128 GB storage with a Bluetooth keyboard, a 7 port adapter with micro SD and SD card slots which I use for my removable media and when my droid battery swelled pushing the screen of the phone, I replaced it with an iPhone 13 mini since I use my iPad for my aud/vid media. Love it.
I had a late Mac mini 2009 and it died 2 weeks ago. I mean that’s 13 years I had it. Blown away by that as everyone else has had at least 2 to 3 PC’s by then. Just about to buy an M1 Mac mini this weekend as if it lasts as long as the other one then it’s true what they say “ buy cheap buy twice “.
Good morning, Aaron. First of all I wanted to thank you for your videos. I am an amateur photographer and I always work in raw with what I usually use mainly Lightroom and photoshop. On the other hand, I have been making my videos for my family and video tutorials for my work for a while, so I also regularly use Davinci. I currently have a MacBook Pro 15 from 2016, (256gb ssd and 16Gb ram), and it starts to slow down and get hot when rendering videos, and even when working with lightroom. I think your job needs may be similar to mine from what you say. That's why I wanted to ask you if the work with the Mac mini with M1 is completely smooth when you work with the photo or video editors. Mac Studio has recently come out and I find it impressive, but I also find its price impressive. That is why I value the purchase of a Mac mini with 16Gb of RAM and 512 or 1tb of ssd. Since even so, it is € 1000 cheaper than the Mac studio. In short, I would like to know your experience with the editors. Thank you very much again
Hm, tricky one, but I think I can get a refurbished model for cheaper. I genuinely think it’s a great desktop providing that you have a monitor, mouse and keyboard. Definitely picking one up this year or next. Much thanks for your in-depth analysis.
Currently using a Macbook Air M1, it is power enough for my usage but it slows down when it gets hot because of the fanless design. Considering to get a Mac Mini M1 but after Apple's Spring Event.
I sticking with my M1 MBA, but I bouth M1 macbook Air for my Wife week ago. She used three years old "no name" 14" windows laptop based on Intel Celeron (Atom) with 4GB RAM. Even she use laptop just for web browsing and watching YT, HBO and Neflix it become laggy little bit. So I guess it is significant upgrade, bot Im not sure how she handle Windows to MacOS transition. She is not too much technical. But at end of year I will return my rented iPad Air 2020 and I will be able to rent or buy new one, most probably Pro one...
What computer are going with for 2022?
Hoping to buy my fourth Mac mini version when it upgrades, knock knock knock.

It is unless you are editing RAW video or heavy FX. For online streaming it's perfect.

If the rumored Mac Mini Pro comes out, the current M1s will probably be very affordable as refurbished or pre-owned!
