I flew them 4 years ago to NCE. Even though the 757 had issues with seats, toilets and those awful tablets that batteries would run out before the trip was over, I look forward to flying with them again. The all business class model led to a less stressful fight regarding boarding ( fewer passengers ), overhead bin space and the clientele were courteous. Regarding the 2-2 seating, both legs were full and I saw no obvious single traveling passengers, just couples and larger parties ( we were a party of 8 ). Thanks for the video sections on the newer way of ordering food and the wifi 👍
The fact they are still going 10 years on must say something. I think they might have operated from London at one stage. Their product and business model seems to tick all the boxes as previous Business Class only airlines MaxJet Eos and Avion are no more. Im not fussed on the 2-2 configuration and if the flight wasnt full Id have asked for a single seat if there was one. Another great vlog.
Thanks! London is an interesting market for them to serve. Personally I feel like any route that thrives on business travel wouldn’t work for them, instead working better on routes with more personal travel

The service element is great, but as you mention the 2-2 configuration is awkward for the passenger sitting at the window. In this regard, I think Jet Blue has hit the sweet spot with their Mint Suite, which to me is a mix between the best of first class and business class. LaCompagnie is really a niche carrier and makes no claim that they are out to rattle the competition. Sadly, downunder there is no niche carrier like either Jet Blue or LaCompagnie. Spot on. La Compagnie works better for people travelling with friends and family, which is their main customer base. That way if you have a window seat, you know the person on the aisle seat. What kinda airline would compare where you are from?
@@PatrickSheaAviation there is no airline in Australia that truly compares with the likes of Jet Blue or LaCompagnie. Qantas being the dominant carrier in the market is full-fare, Virgin Australia is a hybrid between low cost and legacy. Then you have Qantas' subsidiary Jetstar as a low-cost carrier, REX and ultra-low-cost, Bonza. An airline such as LaCompagnie could not survive, but one such as JetBlue would really be disruptive to the airline market in the Australian market.

I fly Emirates on the Saigon to London route in business class. The seats on La Compagnie are similar to the B777 set up on the Saigon Dubia sector which I don't find that comfortable in the bed form. Plus the twin seat set up means I'm trying hard not to bother the other passenger, yet when I tried the aisle seat others didn't care?? The second leg is on the fantastic A380 where side seats are single either close to window or isle. So no worries with climbing over anyone. The area is great for a sit down at table meal, plus being able to chat with others. The seat is wider so turning in bed is able. I will check the La Compagnie, but they have a stiff job against Emirates, oh yes and the limo service to/from the airport is great.
Yea, that’s all true. I will say that La Compagnie serves a much different market than emirates however. With almost no business travelers. And personal travelers typically don’t travel alone so you would tend to know the person in the seat next to you
Alright well what I’ll say is that leading up to this trip, I talked about the airline with a bunch of people and no one ever corrected me so I figured my pronunciation was correct. An only Business narrow cabin for long haul flights is not a bad idea at all. Despite that it is a "small" airplane there are only few, exclusive people with you sharing a premium cabin. It is a smaller version of an A380 upper deck when this one only has business and first class cabins. I only wished in this A321 a seat configuration that would grant all seats direct aisle access.
Fantastic report as always Patrick.... Your attention to detail is brilliant. The product itself looked great. Must be nice flying in an all business class layout. Looking forward to the next one. 😊 Keep up the good work!
Great in depth video of La Compagnie Airlines and what they are all about. You did not mentioned the flight crew how were they towards you and the rest of your fellow passengers. Have you flown out of Newark Airport on the new Terminal A there are unconfirmed rumors that soon there would be an extensive reconstruction of Terminal B. Time will tell. Thanks again.
The crew was great but I wouldn’t say they were in the cabin too much aside from meal services. I do hope Newark gets a Terminal B renovation and then the rest of terminal C
Thank you for sharing your trip here on La Compagnie Airlines. First, yes, I agree with you about stepping over some else next to you! The two-person seating space for the price is interesting. Unless you know your seat mate then the setup is not great. I do understand that this airline started a few years ago, so the design of the cabin by their aircraft staff was what they thought would be nice back then. I think you also made the comment about JetBlue aircraft flights on their narrow body aircraft with their Mint/First Class cabin. Yes, for a narrow body I think JetBlue's Mint is better. Yes, that price for Business Class is worth whether people pay for it by points or funds outright or by both. I am glad you made the choice of the food and it looked nice. Finally, yes, I saw that aircraft tape applied to the winglet there!!! I hope the new winglet is on order to replace that one.
There’s definitely a debate on whether a 1-1 or 2-2 setup works best on narrowbody aircraft specifically. I do prefer the JetBlue mint suites, but I’m not sure how an aircraft would look if that went all the way back
My Lord people didn’t hold back on the comments for this one 😂 I have nothing negative to say, great video as always. Also as a fellow American, I approve of you mispronouncing things. It makes us who we are 😂

Looking forward to flying them this year from EWR! One more thing, was it me, or was that a piece of duct tape over the logo on the winglet? I'm sure it wasn't but certainly looks like it!!!!! :)

Nice video kid! I was pretty curious to know how La Compagnie operated. I think the seats are too close to each other - privacy is not a priority! Thanks for sharing.
If I had to guess, it would probably be because the majority of people flying with them are flying with someone else, and they don’t attract a ton of business travelers. So you figure people are more willing to sit next to someone else if they are traveling with someone else.
The food didn't look as nearly as good as I expected! And just by serving the dessert/cheese separately at the end would have made the whole service just feel more premium.
These seats are the exact same seats as were found on United's Business/First seats (now being replaced by the new "Polaris" 1-1-1 seats). These older (United) 2-2 (or 2-2-2 on wide-body aircraft) had two annoying issues - 1: if you sit in the window seat AND the aisle seat passsenger lies flat, you have some awkward climbing to do - and 2:. most of these seats have really narrow foot wells, as you indicated and recorded in this video, so your feet are cramped into a tight place making sleep not ideal. United has mostly replaced almost all of these seats, and perhaps La Companie will, too. (Provided they are able to get in as many passengers as they do now with these older seats. Thank you for a very informative and well-done video!
Seems like a great product. My only issues with flying them is: 1. 2-2 business class. Sorry but imo that's outdated in 2023, even in quite a few long-haul narrowbodies. They could've at least set up a staggered throne configuration (e.g. the old JetBlue Mint). 2. No codeshare agreements; I always view the rewards I get from a cash fare as kind of a rebate. There are plenty of TAP Business class flights which are more private and I can credit to Star Alliance partners that are a cheaper option, especially to NYC. Great review though!
Great video. If I were traveling alone, I am pretty sure I would not use this airline. I truly hate being so close to folks I do not know. There are other business flights that appeal to me more.
The IranAir you were showing was an A300, the only reason I know this is on the A300's, the winglet is smaller, and this winglet was smaller. Other than that, Great Video!

You'd spend about the same on some of the US carriers or their euro partners for all aisle access seats. Then you're not walking over the person next to you. The benefit of a wider body jet.
Thank you for this very informative review. You unintentionally might have given a number of french people two heart attacks by pronunciation of La Compagnie and by having fish with red wine and a coke. 😊 Btw over all I'd prefer Jet Blue Mint over what I've seen here.

8:20, Last June, I flew Singapore Airlines, Airbus A350-900 5th freedom flight from Barcelona, Spain to Milan, Italy for the 1st time and the flight is good and okay. I enter Italy for the 1st time to visit Milan and it's good.
That’s awesome! Milan is great
Looks like a great service. I would want the 1-2-1 config for sure.
Yea, the narrowbody long haul experience definitely demands a bit different of a cabin designs, and it’s definitely a controversial topic
You'd spend about the same on some of the US carriers or their euro partners for all aisle access seats. Then you're not walking over the person next to you. The benefit of a wider body jet.
“That being said”!
Cabin review starts at 10:00.
There are time stamps on the video as well if you want to find different content
That lone landing clapper tho lmao
Loved everyone staying strong against the peer pressure 🤣
I really want to try this airline. Too bad we don’t get a version of this from LAX.
Unfortunately LAX just doesn’t have the right markets for it reachable by A321neo, but the concept is fascinating!
great video as always🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!!
BA has an all business class plane from London Docklands to New York
Not anymore 😢. Covid killed off the famous A318 flight to JFK unfortunately
They should came to Miami and hope they will. Great video
Miami would be interesting, but as a French airline, I’m not sure if they have quite the same connection
Thank you for this very informative review.
You unintentionally might have given a number of french people two heart attacks by pronunciation of La Compagnie and by having fish with red wine and a coke. 😊
Btw over all I'd prefer Jet Blue Mint over what I've seen here.
Ha! All very true 🤣. I would also take JetBlue over this, but this was slightly cheaper at least
Great detail review Patrick.
Thanks!
Great video like always, just wondering if is it possible for you to put the flight details in the description, so if we want to fly on that flight irl, or recreate it in a video game we don't have to go scavenging for it. Thanks and keep up the amazing work.
p.s. you are the best UA-camr who films trip reports Keep it up.
Appreciate it man! Not a bad idea, maybe I’ll start throwing those down below in the description
They have announced seasonal Caribbean (St. Maarten) flights from Newark too
I just saw that! Interesting!
Ditch the cramped economy and improve on this fully business class airline! 👏👍
It’s kinda nice to see the cabin, and it’s a nice break from the 3 economy flights it took me to reach Milan 😭
Has to be more than 50 seats. 25 rows of 2X2 would mean at least 100 seats.
How hard is it to pronounce La Compagnie?
It can be difficult when it’s not your native language and everyone around you who isn’t French is pronouncing it wrong or just makes fun of you rather than teaching the correct pronunciation
17:28, In flight entertainment on the Airbus A321neo, USB ports and Universal power outlet. I flown Cebu Pacific, Salam air and Scoot, Airbus A321neo for the 1st time and unfortunately, they don't have the In Flight entertainment and all are low cost airlines. Salam air is a low cost airline in Oman.
It is interesting seeing the luxury vs low cost setup of these aircraft
EWR might claim itself as New York but they aren’t they’re in Jersey.
Five star coverage
Thanks man!
FYI - when pronouncing La Compagnie is sounds like; La Come-Pa-Knee
Good video 🙂Hadn't heard of this airline before. Winglet does need a new piece of speed tape.
Lol I know… or a new wingtip so it can look pretty again
Felicitaciones, excelentes videos, muy didácticos, saludos desde colombia.
Gracias! Me encanta colombia pero solo he estado Bogota!
Great video ! What about a new microphone ! 🙂
Yea… more like I just need a good place to record. I am typically on the go for either work or personal trips, and so the acoustics kinda suck sometime…. Maybe I can find a good travel setup to help the audio
Ha ha, you pronounce "L'accompagner" instead of "La compagnie". This is hilarious! 😆😅
A very thorough vlog well done
Please in ur future travels 2 MXP would u try Emirates JFK - MXP
on the A380 . ( year round flights)
Thx again .
Christy 🇮🇪/🇵🇹 👍
That is a great 5th freedom flight. Thanks!
HOW EXPENSIVE????$1500. Not too bad. But delta is around $800rt. And free upgrades for diamond medallion... buy i will check this out. Great video ❤
About $1500 for this one. Do Diamond Medallions get international upgrades? It was my understanding that it was only domestic qualifying flights
Great Video ✈👍
Thanks!
“Glass of coffee”?
Yes?
@@PatrickSheaAviation 🤣🤣🤣
WHICH CAMERA ARE YOU USING and how are you holding it while walking along the LOUNGE?
I just use my phone, and I hold it in the most awkward way possible so it looks as “non-chalant” as possible 🤣
@12:35 converse? low tops?
Reminds me of BA's LCY-JFK flights on its A318, G-EUNA
Very much so. I do miss that service, and am bummed I never got to experience it
How to save fuel gas for a long to Milan???
They also fly from London Luton
I saw that recently. I didn’t know they had any routes contained within Europe
Sorry yeah they ceased operation from london Luton now.
In italy you do pronounce the E at the of a word like in grazIE - not grazy like most people say. However, this is a French word, so the E is silent - La CompagnY. :) You would only pronounce the E if there was an accent on it.
Nice video nontheless!!
Great video! I wouldn't be happy to pay for a business class ticket and then have to jump over another person to stand up and/or go to the toilet (see the lady at 27:20). What is the price difference with other business classes in the same route, e.g. Emirates?
It's comparable to other business classes, and cheaper on a lot of days. You also have to think that most of their travelers are vacationers and so the person next to you is usually someone you know at least
What is the price point that will get people to fly not looking like they are going to the gym?
Nah man if I’m on a long flight, imma be comfortable. What kinda stuff are you wanting people wearing? Suits??
You have a very good voice.
Thanks!
Great video. Curious if you noticed any dogs on your flight? If so, how did it seem for them? They have a pretty good in-cabin pet policy.
I don’t recall. If there were, they weren’t big dogs at least
I sat next to a dog on a flight to Paris in June and it must have been sedated because it never moved the entire flight.
@@kevinchaffee9694 it’s possible. They have doggie CBD and products like that. As someone with a high anxiety dog, I can tell you that there are all kinds of different products or trainings to help dogs just chill out for a while when you need
Well Done!
Thanks!
Love it all business ass love it 🎉😂
