    I live in Johnstown today and I’m so happy we can learn about the history

      Which dam will be next Quenamhoning, Hickston Run, or Mineral Point. Johnstown is surrounded by dams that are in poor condition and more or likely will not survive a storm like the one in 1889 or 1977.

    They seem to be forgetting 1936 and 1977 I'm sitting in Everett PA remembering a story I was told by someone who was there in 1936 about how debrie and flood water came through Everett PA from Johnstown I went to a trade school in Johnstown and heard another story about abody found in the 1990s from the 1977 flood in the mud under a porch someone was tearing down went to nothing as soon as the air hit it a photo I saw from the 1977 flood 18 wheeler sitting on the road Black top with nothing no Earth below holding it up

    20 million cubic feet of water....not "tons"....also, the telegraph operator did not transmit the warning, it didn't arrive in the town to be ignored, it was never transmitted

      I love how you hear about the amazing tales of survival ...."wow".....they never tell you about everyone else who was smashed into a pulp
