Also, the title was inspired by 'The Second Coming' by WB Yeats, and is often interpreted as being about British colonialism (which both of the aformentioned writers I believe were a part of a colonialist society). It also is worth a read if you haven't already.
Ngugi seems to be having a deeper understanding of a western politics of misrepresentation and marginalization of most of Africa, something that continues till date.
Two of my favorite writers, I just got Petals of Blood for this winters read.
