    Time to dive into the jump technique for our guy! He's having trouble with controlling hip height and timing his arms and lower body. Can I help him?
    I spend 1.5 hours with Jason Dias and help him add 2" to his vertical with PPA Jump Technique!

      I'm 5'5" a year into training and have a 28" vert (can touch 9'4"). I wanna touch 9'6" by the end of the year and touch 10' sometime next year! I'm improving a lot because at the end of June, I couldn't even touch 9'

    Love this type of content! Do you have a video showing the difference between an “elastic” athlete and whatever the opposite of that would be? Would that be more of a power based athlete?

      We call it the Elastic-Strength spectrum. That's a great idea for content and once I'm in the new PPA HQ, I'm going to have the set up to be MUCH more consistent with content on here!

      Yes, a very common issue amongst athletes newer to jumping. Thanks for watching!

    Did I miss where he covered why they are turning sideways so much?

    • @jumpguyty
      @jumpguyty  2 роки тому +2

      Utilizing a turn stance allows you to carry more speed due to greater surface area of the foot. It also helps tap into more torque (power) at the hips. It's important to note that it's not just running in and turning sideways. The rotation happens gradually through the penultimate stride and plant sequence (last 2 contacts).

    This is so funny. He jumps like a soccer player. Keeps his hands away from the ball at all costs.
