Nice work. With your help I was able to disassemble mine with a mini screwdriver and a spoon. Next I am going to get a soldering machine and hope I can get the USB input back and working. Rode did not build this mic to be repairable. They just wanted people to use them for a while, break the USB port and go get another one. Sad. I even contacted them, and they said it cannot be fixed. Mine is out of warranty so no replacement for me.
@orcproductions At least that's what Rode customer service says. They said if only mine was still under warranty they'd have just replaced it. So if yours is under warranty reach out to them via the Rode website... If not, then look for an electrician or try soldering it yourself. I'm working on mine
Thank you for this video, like yours my usb c was disconnected from the motherboard, now to try to replace it. My hands aren’t the most steady for soldering so I’ll wait a few days before trying. I was also able to raise the sleeve above the mic without having to cut it. Sir you rock! We bought this little thing back in Sep23 and it went right after the return date😢
I got mine covered under warranty, no questions. Just sent it off, I think I paid for the postage, and they sent back a refurb unit, works like new, slightly more scuffed than mine but no worries. Nice 👍🏻
Can you do me a huge favour and find out what the value of the resistor to the left of the port is as mines fallen off and cant find a circuit diagram anywhere. the black one, not sure if it's the same value as the one next to the headphone port
Assembling it back was much more difficult :) Thanks for the video!
Great video. Thank you. I used an old credit card as a spludger and was able to do it a lot gentler after learning from your video;)
Great video, good tutorial for disassembly, thank you for showing how to do it!
Hi from the Crimea, thanks for the disassembly, it was important to me to clean the micro from the dirt, you helped me!

Done well thanks. I did a dodgy fix job after the usb-c port pooped off, I didn't have solder so I glued that sucker down and somehow magic happened
Thank you, helps alot!

1:37 - _Sounds like someone here is speaking from experience XD_ *hahaha*
Did Rode repair this for you under it's warranty? Or did they see it as accidental damage?

It sucks paying almost $100 for a mic that I have to repair 🥺.
