- For the first time I did headlight polish on my old 308 using polymerase method, and for me it was the first experience of this kind, I am sure that next time I will do better.

buna Adrian, ce sa zic, pt. rezultate mai bune era bine sa fi pus si apa in timp ce faceai polish-ul la faruri si desigur sa fi folosit si cu granulatie de 2000. Pe de alta parte o masina de slefuit ti-ar fi adus si mai mai rezultate. Cine pune apa in timpul slefuirii va obtine o suprafata ceva mai neteda.

Hi Adrian. I really like your videos, I have a 307 1.6hdi Break (2006) myself so I find your videos very useful. I would just like to point out that sandpaper should be used together with water. The best thing to use would be a bottle spray filled with water and spraying some water while using the sandpaper. I usually follow the use of sandpaper with polishing putty (medium and then fine) for perfect results, but in my case I don't use the clear coat in the end. Using the clear coat makes it much more resistance throughout time but you will have to sand again when redoing the headlights. If the plastic is left "barebone" you can just pass some fine polishing putty every 6 months or so.
I think you're right, I probably should have used water for sandpaper, but it still looks good :)

I think you are right.
I covered this a little more in depth about the top flat surface of the headlight using the flex hose. You'd have to wrap the tip with paper towel because the flex hose itself will condensate at the tip and drip the solution onto the headlight. Also, a lot of vapor application videos here on UA-cam don't inform people about the complete personal protection gear you should wear also because the vapor polymer can sicken you. I cover all that. But this application gets the best clarity to headlights hands down.
How long it lasts before it starts to yellow again?
@@bkingtz1 Surprisingly it only lasted on my car for about 10 months and that's because I wanted to see how long it would last if I didn't do any maintenance of care to the headlights at all. My car is not parked in a garage. It sits outside exposed to the sunlight. Headlights that gets restored will never last as long as brand new headlights. Why? Because you're dealing with old plastic. Secondly, people really has to do polishing and maintenance on their headlights every three months to stave off oxidation by the sun. Unless the vehicle is kept inside a garage for most of its life, the headlights will re-oxidize. The idea of headlights being restored and never oxidizing again without maintenance is false.

Cred ca puteai folosi doar hartia abraziva fina daca farurile erau doar matuite fara zgarieturi, exfolieri, etc.
Salutare. Da, este adevarat. Deoarece am folosit hartia abraziva cu granulatie mare au ramas ceva santuri adanci in suprafata lustruita. Ar fi trebuit sa insist mult mai mult cu slefuirea finala folosind hartie fina. Data viitoare tin cont.

Ma bate gandul sa incerc si eu la un 3008 din 2010 dar am nevoie sa stiu cam cat timp mi-ar trebuii.

Salutare. La fiecare far am slefuit cu smirghel cam 25 de minute. Pentru a elimina cat mai multe din zgarieturi trebuie sa slefuiesti cat mai mult timp in special cu smirghelul fin. Am facut si febra la brate dupa aceasta operatiune :))
Salut, Adrian! Am incercat si eu procedura pe farurile de la un Renaul Clio 4 si m-am blocat la partea cu vaporizatorul. Practic suprafata farurilor devine perfect transparenta doar in momentul in care trec cu vaporizatorul peste zona de actiune. Imediat ce trec mai departe se opacizeaza la loc. Ai idee ce gresesc? Am uitat să-ti spun ca dupa ultima polishare am spalat farul si l-am si degresat, dar degeaba.

Daca pățești asta înseamnă că pe far mai este lac din fabrica, trebuie șlefuit cu granulație mica până îl îndepărtezi. Spun în cunoștință de cauză, am făcut și am pățit la fel și după ce am smirgheluit mai bine, a ieșit țiplă. De asemenea, pentru ,o claritate mai buna, eu as folosi pe farul ud trizact 3000 sau 2000 urmat de 3000.
Ar trebui sa slefui cu apa eu asa fac si de la 600 pana la 2000 daca trebuie

Salut. Poate unul din faruri a fost schimbat (daca ai cumparat masina sh).
Slefuirea se face pe ud iar granulatia e muuuult prea mica pentru ce aveai tu nevoie.Lejer puteai sa mergi cu 800-1000-1500-3000.
Salutare. Ai dreptare, a fost prima mea experienta de acest gen si am urmat instructiunile din manualul primit, dar se pare ca nu totdeauna instructiunile corespund cu realitatea. Ma gandesc ca in primavara sa repet operatiunea dar folosind numai granulatie mica.

Salut. Inca rezista foarte bine de cand am aplicat stratul de polimer. Si varianta cu folie este un foarte buna dar cred ca e mai greu de facut acasa.

Ro: Din cite am inteles din alte clipuri YT solutia aia nu e nici un polimer ci e doar acetona, vaporii de acetona topesc plasticul si il face uniform de aia se vede clar, de aia trebuie sa nu stai intr-un loc ci sa plimbi cana aia ca sa nu atace prea mult din plastic ci doar cit e nevoie sa se vada clar, acelasi efect il vei obtine daca vei spreia pe far varnis transparent pentru plastic, il gasesti la doza/can, de preferat vezi de gasesti unul care este si UV resistant.
En: What I saw from other YT video clips that solution you used at the end is only acetone, acetone vapors will melt plastic, that's why you need to move fast, you only need to melt a thin layer, few microns so it will make it uniform/smooth not hills and valleys, another alternative instead of acetone is to spray clear/transparent lacquer u can buy in a can made specially for plastic, preferably one that is UV resistant so it will last longer before gets yellow again.

Salutare! Cauze pot fi multe: lipsa freon in instalație, compresor defect, senzor presiune defect, etc. Cel mai bine ar fi sa mergi la un service pentru diagnosticare.

Salut! Voiam să te întreb dacă a încă ține polimerul după aproape 1 an, am făcut și eu farurile cuiva și vreau să fiu sigur că e de calitate și nu durează doar câteva săptămâni sau luni, mi-ar placea sa știu că am făcut o treabă oablă.😄

După această operațiune mai trebuie aplicată folie de protecție pe faruri ? Sau e o soluție de durată?!
Salutare! As spune ca e o solutie de lunga durata, acum timpul va arata daca este sau nu asa. Dar si aplicarea unei folii va aduce o protectie suplimentara, totusi am dubii in ceea ce priveste scoaterea foliei cand aceasta va deveni uzata. Momentan sunt nehotarat daca sa aplic folie sau nu, ma mai documentez.

nu pot sa cred ca ai dat cu 180.......eu incep cu 800 si termin cu 2000, 800 da jos pe toate, inclusiv pe lac si pe zgarieturi sau alte probleme...
