I did my hair transplant 3 yrs ago. The results were good but i had panic attacks, headaches, migraine after the surgery and since. I had to take 2 to 3 sessions to get that full effectiveness. However because of those pains i might just stick to micro pigmentation for now. It might make it look full and that what i need

A guy I worked with got a very soft and somewhat receded smp done. Looked fairly good tbh and hard to notice. Adopted the buzzed look. He got very thin but hid it well and then took two weeks off and came back with the smp look. His faded after 3 years and then he Adopted the bald look
It's by far the best in combination with and after FUE transplant. That order too. Creates great illusion of density, hide FUE scars for shorter hair cuts
@@golurk9521 no no no always always to FUE first. Otherwise they won't know where and what to transplant from donor your area and most importantly where to place it, because the SMP will make it very difficult to differentiate. SMP should alway be the last finishing touch to create density illusion and cover up FUE scars if they've over harvested. In my case I've deliberately over harvested and will be going for my 5th FUE next year and then the following year, finally finishing with SMP to create maximum density illusion and cover the over harvested scars in my donor area. Hope that helps bud
@@manikahmed12345 that’s the same thought process I had. How will they know exactly where to put in the harvested follicles/hair. Thanks man that helped a lot.
@@IllinNoise86 With micro pigmentation the pigments will be "absorved" with time... Is a tattoo but with a kind of special ink... You will have to retouch from time time... Several months or years, it depends
I'm curious about how long you can have your natural hair grow before the scalp contrast with your "side hair" looks silly. I do a very close 0.5 grade clipper once a month. I prefer the 1 grade look and by the end of the month, the length starts to make me look like an old man. If I shave my head, you can hardly see any dots of hair (I'm blonde/bald!😄) so the scalp dots won't look right either.
I have SMP and I love it. Looks completely natural and no one has ever mentioned it. t's extremely simple to maintain and take care of, no muss no fuss no recovery time and it's far cheaper than a hair transplant. If you don't mind keeping a buzzed hair look year round I'd suggest just going with SMP. Hair transplants aren't permanent either, you will eventually lose the non transplanted hair and need more procedures.
That’s exactly how they do the 1st treatment. they start you off with your first session was a very light touch. BTW the ink doesn’t last a lifetime it only goes in to the second layer of the skin which fades away eventually after 5 to 6 years or so
I had smp for 3 years looked awesome very natural NOBODY could tell only downside is the shine but was using face primer ! Had FUE yesterday and just covered all the tattoos with hairs 😁
ive had a hair transplant over 10 years ago and all i got out of it was a $5000 hit, long scar on the donor area, and very little hair was transplanted which isn't visible so i've been shaving my head since. I believe hair transplants are great IF one has enough or thick donor hair. My hair is thin all around which in my opinion, creates more of a challenge to get the desired finished look. If there's a different solution for men like myself with thin hair even in the donor area to get a transplant please advise. After many years of hiding under a hat, I'm ready for a change which is long overdue and have been strongly considering scalp pigmentation as I've already ruled hair transplant out as an option due to my past experience, 2) not wanting another scar and 3)of course not having what I believe is the main ingredient to a great transplant "donor hair".
I've had both hair transplant and scalp micropigmentation and over time they can both fade away. So I made a video called balding and greying Dave Kirby to help if you haven't got a bit of money to still look like you are not losing your hair. So watch it til you get some money then you can do whatever.
It's a great option for people who have had transplants in the past to made the density look higher. I had ~5000 grants in the front third done and got an smp with it. The smp makes it look 30-40% more dense. Also - less is more with an smp. Many arre ugly since they don't separate the dots enough and put them too close.
Is the SMP permanent? Or does it fade away over time? How did you find a doctor who is good at doing SMP? I use Toppik to improve my density, but I would like to get SMP because I think it would be a longer-lasting solution to cover my diffuse thinning.
Great vid. I personally think that more info on SMP within the community can be very beneficial - On both sides of SMP, for the artist and the client perspective. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
I think it's a good option for some people, but in my opinion you need a symmetrical head, the right color ink and a real good artist for it to come out good.
I have done smp 2 months ago, i can tell you its the best thing i did in my life. Absolutly no one noticed it. Finally im free to go swimming, walk in the wind and just do things without thinking or those dawm caps. Guys dont hesitate.. go to a good shop and dont do the lego figure hairline!
May I ask- are you mostly bald? I'm glad to hear about other people's positive experiences, but I hate the results of my SMP. I have the same hairline as before but darker. I suppose this would be appreciated if I didn't have any hair before, but I'm not bald. I expected to get rid of the widow's peak, but no. Oh and yes, definitely avoid the permanent edge up look.
@@microbios8586 I am far from bald. I only did a hair transplant in the front in 2013. After the years I got bald behind my implanted hair, a kind of strip but no longer wanted to go for a hair transplant again. because I have a hairline with real hair you just don't see anything.

You can rarely get by on just (1) hair transplant session. With 3,000 hair grafts, you're lucky to get 2,000 of them to take hold. With SMP, you get the look of 100,000+ follicles over a few sessions. It's significantly cheaper than hair transplants, especially if you end up needing more than one hair transplant. Not only that, but SMP is often used to salvage hair transplants because of all the remaining scarring, regardless of if it was FUT or FUE. SMP for the win. Also, with SMP, you can quit spending money on Rogaine and Propecia which often negatively affect libido/hormones.
I like the idea SMP not permanent, touch up 2-3 years are fair enough, unlike hair transplant you sacrifice/defect the side of your hair scalp, plus hair transplant Will make you more insecure because you have to thinking about you hair a lot, are their still intact become thinner rare etc lol....in several years HT Will fall
I have smp and i'm really happy about it. As a young teenager (i was 18 yo and now i'm turning 20) i couldn't do the hair transplant cause of the young age and my air situation was pretty bad at that time, so maybe in that situation more than 1 hair transplant could fix that (not sure) But still, when i'll turn like 24/5 i will start thinking about goin into hair transplant, do u think is possible after spm? (mine is really well done). Thanks!
Stick with SMP till Hair Cloning comes out, if you SMP looks great, leave it alone and stick with it. Not everyone who does a transplant has good results and gets to keep the transplanted hair, Some even loose most of the transplanted hair. Enjoy your SMP till Hair Cloning comes out, Could be 1 year, 5, 10, 15 who knows. Congrats on your SMP. I got mine done 6 months ago and I was not bald, but just thinning too much.
@@ELEVOPR and how can you say that hair cloning will give better result than hair transplant and can you tell me the name of clinic from which you did your hair transplant and how was your result???
@@alexrai246 Never said that hair cloning would give better results. Most likely if hair cloning comes out you won't have a scar for the sample needed to clone. I never said I got mine done. Alot of guys who have gotten SMP had hair transplants that failed and needed another option if they wanted to shave it off and not show the scars. SMP have saved alot of people who had failed transplants. I got SMP done not a transplant.
Why do I get the impression that U.S. doctors refuse to utilize body hair for harvesting? Is that something I can only get overseas? I realize because of the final length of the growth that I would have to keep it very short, but isn't that a better way to go?
How do you find a doctor who is good at SMP? Does it have to be a doctor who is a member of the IAHRS? I don't want to go to some random clinic for SMP and risk getting botched.
It's been approximately 13 years ago since I had mine done & it still looks good to me. This pic I use is roughly 6 after, but so far so good, though I will say the lighter your skin tone, the longer it is going to last aside from how the artist added your ink between sessions since your body metabolism plays a roll in this as well.
@Manuel-ld5iy Hi Manuel - Yes my advise is pay very close attention in between the sessions just before you go back for the next round. They have you come back to fill in the places where your body has metabolized the ink & in my case I thought it looked best after the 3rd session, but the artist( David Hoffer) asked that i come in 1 more time so he could take a look & he wanted to do a little more but it was slightly to dark at that point in my opinion. The thing I would say is make sure to let your artist know you want a natural hairline, not that sharp line some people get, and good luck - it really can make your whole life better when you feel comfortable again when it's undetectable.
Hair transplantation is only good if your a norwood 4 or under and you better hope you have enough donor hair if it gets worse. SMP is the best option until hair cloning is available.
@@cosminxz1076 you only have a limited amount of donor area to use so if you need more than you have, you won't be able to add more.....once that donor area is depleted, you're done......I had transplants and they served me well for 25 years.......now, I've lost most of my hair (which was thin to begin with) and I have very little donor area left......it would look stupid and not actually do anything.......so I'm considering micropigmentation......
Well it's best to have one once your hair loss stabilises. Also in a lot of cases it doesn't go that far and it will make a worthwhile cosmetic difference.
As far as fading goes early inks used in smp were inferior and faded fast over time.. I learnt this from the practitioners at brandwood clinics in Birmingham uk, Paul Clarke and Simon lane are world leaders in this field.
SMP For 4 years LOVE IT but everyone is different do your research had a Buzz Cut since Army days so no one noticed just thought i was growing my hair bit longer but if you have plenty in the back go for transplant yours looks great 😎
MATT, In my case I was NW7 had 2 Hair transplant done, and would like to go for a 3er one. Though my donor area is already to the limit, can already notice the extracted areas. What about going for a 3er transplant, my donor will be over-harvested, then I can do a micro-pigmentation to hide the uneven look. Would need to keep it short always, but that is not a big deal to me. Now, Do you think this would work?
I started balding at 19. Hair line was noticeably back at 23. Shaved my head at 28 but wish I did it at 23. Would I get surgery, smp or anything? Fuck no! Just shave it and be free.
Can we still use minoxidil and dermaroll affer a SMP or trichopigmentation? As I think the pigment will clog the existing hair follicle, maybe it will damage the hair further or not allow minox to penetrate through the the hair follicle
There is really no downside to getting SMP if the treatment is done correctly, unless you dislike hairline or the look of having a full-head of hair. If you disliked the look of having hair, I doubt you would have gotten the procedure in the first place. Only people who are bald feel super sensitive about the degree of naturalness of hairline, most people don’t care about the line that separates “your” forehead from “your” scalp (they are busy stressing over their hairline not yours). Stop stressing it and get SMP if you have a nice shaped head and want to look younger with the right SMP provider.
No downside? Are you for real? The ink spreads and fades overtime, leaving you looking like a freak. Plus it usually very noticeable in person that you have tattoos instead of hair
Cool Goby Fish Have you ever seen someone with SMP done on his head or are you saying this from all the social media mess ups? I personally have it done on my head and it has been three years and nothing has changed. Of course I take good care of my treatment but that is besides the point. I think it is wrong for you to say this when SMP can change people’s lives for the better. My family and friends were all against me getting SMP and after I got em, there is not one single person in my life who is against it. If you are for bettering life but have seen really bad treatment, reveal the SMP provider rather than putting down the treatment itself. Cheers

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? He that has ears to hear, let him hear. Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. I commented, dissatisfied, here just after I had it done. It's been almost two years now, and I'm now ok with the results. Nobody has said anything about my hairline, as it looks completely natural, and I definitely look younger based on people's comments. I look younger now than I did 10 years ago in my 20s.
Would you recommend it? I'm 25, my hair has been progressively receding and falling out for years. Its to the point where I think I'm ready for SMP. I want to put this issue behind me.
I live in Chicago. I have reached out (online) to a few SMP services. They have not responded, and it has been several days already. I really want to go to a reputable place that will be honest about my prospects. I had FUE done back in 2015 (2200 grafts). Recently, (September 2022) I have noticed that I have lost most of my temple hair. This was not the recipient area for FUE. I don't think I have enough donor hair left for another FUE, but I suspect that some service will claim otherwise. I really want to a reputable, non-aggressive SMP service to evaluate me, but I don't know where to look. I have gone online but the reviews of some of the places make me nervous.
SMP will look natural if you don’t do the perfect boxed out sharp edge look. You will look like a cartoon. The best results are the the natural style ones.
Beard and SMP the key because you have to take meds after a HT... i don’t wanna put the rest of my life stuff in my body just because i don’t want to loose my hair....
Im a 47 year old guy with a naturally high hairline ( i hate and always try to brush ny hair forward) that has receded but my overall hair density is still ok at between Norwood 3a and 3v. I cant really afford a hair transplant so was looking into SMP to perhaps lower my hairline a bit - the bit that concerns me is that I wouldn't look right with a shaved head (with or without hair) and that Im worried about blotching or fading when outside, holiday's etc...what say you?
I had smp years ago for the shaved look and I’m currently having smp to add density to my existing hair. Would well advise this if you have enough hair to do so 👍🏼
MATTDOMINANCE I kept the shaved look for about 2 years then got my 3rd hair transplant. After that I grew my hair so didn’t really notice it fading. I’ve had my 4th hair transplant though so this is the final step for me to have the best hair possible. I have my 2nd smp session on Saturday, the results so far a great 👍🏼😎
It's not really cheaper if you shop around for two to $5,000 you can get a transplant I wouldn't pay more than a thousand bucks for that so if you have good donor hair this isn't the best solution this is good 2 cover a scar from fut or for people that are desperate and have no donor hair
thats exactly what I was thinking. As I commented, the key to a great hair transplant is having enough and/or thick donor hair, if not all one gets is a huge scar like I did with little to nothing to show for. I'm strongly considering this option.
The donor hair and thus the transplanted hair will never fall out completely but may become thinner over time. You never see old men with 100% bald donor
Can you first try out with micropigmentation and then after do a FUE transplant? would the "tattoo" affect the transplatation in any way..maybe infection due to ink or somethinf? thanks for GREAT tips
I had smp last year to camouflage my ugly scars from previous FUT hair transplants and it helped a lot 🙏 I wouldn’t recommend this on top of your head if you’re on minoxidil due to alcohol in it and this would literally erase the smp dots! Other than that is a good alternative for those with poor donor area! Good luck! I love your channel bro! Greetings from sunny California! 😁👍 oh! Can you make a vid about “TissUse”, I’ve heard it could be a major surprise in hair loss treatments! Peace!
Hi Matt Quick Question. Does the SMP Laser Removeal Harm your Native or Transplanted Hair around the Pigment ? Basically I'm Trying to find out what Options are Best to Remove SMP without Harming the Surrounding Hair Follicles. Thank You !
Folks forget that you still need to take medication for life to maintain your hair after a transplant, this actually seems like the healthiest method to help with camouflage hair loss or just to fill the gaps. Good video.
My boyfriend had two sessions of SMP BEFORE he decided to do the FUE hair transplant. The dr doing the hair transplant kept thinking the smp he had done were hair follicles. The SMP just wasn't enough coverage but it did help a little. Yes, a hair transplant will take more time to see results AND costs more but in my opinion the hair transplant is a better option.
I hink combination is best because ubsimply do not have enough hair to do perfect hair transplants and it takes like 7 grafts to have N average look. If u have a completely bald head do not do transplants because u simply will not have enough hair to cover it. That's where tattoos are a good add on to a smaller hair transplant
@_XtraCredit ure prolly old or have great hair. Believe me when u are 20 years old and looks like ull be hairless by 22 its extremely damaging on your self co sciousness and confidence. If your face just doesn't look good bald on top ofnthat and u do not have thick eyebrows. Maybe you are under 175cm in height and wear glasses on top of that. Add all those factors in and losing your hair becomes very devastating for life experience. Then it becomes worth it for a week of recovery
I should point out that it was a technician not in any way associated with anybody in this video. I'm very dissatisfied with the results of my SMP. The technician was experienced and knowledgeable but way too conservative with the density and hairline. The before and after (3 sessions) is so minimal that it pains me to think I wasted some hard earned savings on nothing. Total waste of money. Word of advice, if you are young, demand a lower hairline and filling in on the temple. That's what makes allll the difference in terms of framing the face and looking younger. Otherwise, SMP can just exagerate a receding hairline. I was clear and assertive about what I wanted but for whatever reason, the technician wouldn't go below my current (receding) hairline. It just looks like I dyed my hair darker. I'm mad as hell.
Also, I wanted to point out that I have plenty of hair but with beginning typical male pattern baldness. I like a very short cut. Regular visits to a good barber, hair dye and a minimal amount of hair fibers can deal with this just as well as SMP if you still have a good amount of hair. Again, unless you demand a lower hairline, SMP is a waste of time and money.
Can we do smp surgery with the transplanted hair some of hair transplant looks not natural at all I think with smp will be better I wish if can answer me mate
Not permanent like it would go away without having to laser it off?coz i hv smp and ngl i wish i never did it.i dont want to laser it off bcoz d laser might dmage my hair and skin
I didnt look well with longer hair and always have been with short hair, so for me there is no point to make a transplantation and surgery is another factor which i dont like. I think that smp will be better for me personaly but this is for me everybody is different so for some men short hair is not the option and they should go with transplant
Holy shit man, it's incredible the difference that hair transplants made for you. You look much more healthy and happy with a hair transplant and some muscle. The other picture you look almost sickly when bald.

BTW the ink doesn’t last a lifetime it only goes in to the second layer of the skin which fades away eventually after 5 to 6 years or so
No problem not guaranteed to live 5-6 years

hair transplant can't give you that density that smp gives, people gonna think you started balding when it grows out.
How is it now???
ive had a hair transplant over 10 years ago and all i got out of it was a $5000 hit, long scar on the donor area, and very little hair was transplanted which isn't visible so i've been shaving my head since.
Hair system
Hair system or pigmentation.
Smp has been nothing but positives for me
Best thing to do is FUE + SMP to darken the scalp
Actually for rough look
I've had both hair transplant and scalp micropigmentation and over time they can both fade away. So I made a video called balding and greying Dave Kirby to help if you haven't got a bit of money to still look like you are not losing your hair. So watch it til you get some money then you can do whatever.
How long did u had smp?did it fade away nicely?coz i dont wna get laser hope this just fades away
It's a great option for people who have had transplants in the past to made the density look higher. I had ~5000 grants in the front third done and got an smp with it. The smp makes it look 30-40% more dense.
Also - less is more with an smp. Many arre ugly since they don't separate the dots enough and put them too close.
Can we repeat procedure twice if smp fades
Is the SMP permanent? Or does it fade away over time? How did you find a doctor who is good at doing SMP? I use Toppik to improve my density, but I would like to get SMP because I think it would be a longer-lasting solution to cover my diffuse thinning.
Does it hurt or thinning your existing hair ?
Great vid. I personally think that more info on SMP within the community can be very beneficial - On both sides of SMP, for the artist and the client perspective. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
agree
I have no idea what this video was about... I was too busy staring at your arms. Nice =)
I think it's a good option for some people, but in my opinion you need a symmetrical head, the right color ink and a real good artist for it to come out good.
Not necessarily, it adds density to diffused thinning hair to.
I'm still thinking about it. Thinking i'll get more ridicule. But in your case its worth it? Where did you have it done?
How is your smp after a year and low long does redness on head go away?
@@Sam-um2ci sorry im a little late didnt get a notification. 110% yes it is worth it. In the past when i had hair every year in the summer i shaved it anyways because a shaved head looks awesome (if i say so myself). I live in the Netherlands and i did it in a city called The Hague in the shop "'MHP kliniek''. best of luck
This is very true, but some people really want to have big hair again
I like the idea SMP not permanent, touch up 2-3 years are fair enough, unlike hair transplant you sacrifice/defect the side of your hair scalp, plus hair transplant Will make you more insecure because you have to thinking about you hair a lot, are their still intact become thinner rare etc lol....in several years HT Will fall
a very straight hair line doesn't give away it if fake. It can be assumed that a barber did that lol

Thanks!
yes it is possible to do a hair transplant after SMP :)
I have natural thick full set of hair but I still wanna watch for fun lol
I noticed on most of these videos they rarely show a African American man with the smp. I'm curious why is it only lighter skin men.
hairtransplant is fun, untill you lose the rest of your original hair
then you replace it again
additional hair loss over the years........this is the one thing that they never tell you.......

What about going for a 3er transplant, my donor will be over-harvested, then I can do a micro-pigmentation to hide the uneven look. Would need to keep it short always, but that is not a big deal to me. Now, Do you think this would work?

Wonder if weekly derma rolling will cause SMP to fade quicker due to the aid in collagen production and scalp wonding ect?

There is really no downside to getting SMP if the treatment is done correctly, unless you dislike hairline or the look of having a full-head of hair. If you disliked the look of having hair, I doubt you would have gotten the procedure in the first place. Only people who are bald feel super sensitive about the degree of naturalness of hairline, most people don’t care about the line that separates “your” forehead from “your” scalp (they are busy stressing over their hairline not yours). Stop stressing it and get SMP if you have a nice shaped head and want to look younger with the right SMP provider.
I wanted to ask, because when it fades I feel it can look somewhat fake
Cheers

Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.

thats exactly what I was thinking. As I commented, the key to a great hair transplant is having enough and/or thick donor hair, if not all one gets is a huge scar like I did with little to nothing to show for. I'm strongly considering this option.

Folks forget that you still need to take medication for life to maintain your hair after a transplant, this actually seems like the healthiest method to help with camouflage hair loss or just to fill the gaps. Good video.
Not at all. Also if the medications were that effective you wouldn't need the transplant.
If I do micro pigments after that can I do hair transplant
I have the same question.
Yes you can
My boyfriend had two sessions of SMP BEFORE he decided to do the FUE hair transplant. The dr doing the hair transplant kept thinking the smp he had done were hair follicles. The SMP just wasn't enough coverage but it did help a little. Yes, a hair transplant will take more time to see results AND costs more but in my opinion the hair transplant is a better option.
Was the combination of both effective? Is it okay to get SMP done before FUE transplant?
Getting cut open for hair is crazy
Facts. Smp or let it go
I hink combination is best because ubsimply do not have enough hair to do perfect hair transplants and it takes like 7 grafts to have N average look.
Can’t u jus draw a line on ur forehead and frame it before u do the smp lol
