Very instructional video, nicely done. On my multimeter (Mastech MY60) the testing of the fuses didn't work as shown, so a universal way to test the fuse is to check continuity directly on the fuse itself (beeping means it shouldn't be blown).
I bought new Digital Multi meter Uni-T50B, as soon as i switch it on there is a continuous sound of continuity, irrespective of any mode. i tried to return or to exchange but lost the original invoice. so i am stuck with it. I did open up and checked both the Fuses are Fine, and also carefully went through the board and there is no sign or burnt or Short. Please advise if i can fix this
thank you sir. Just realized both my 250ma and 10A fuse are dead. I tried to "check if the battery is still ok" on an electroroller. Suddenly my probes were molten.
Thanks I did not know to test the fuses that way. Great tip! I checked the batteries in my meter once while they were in and it was on... It oddly seemed as if I had mistakenly violated my meter in some way... Hahaha! It just didn't seem right! lol. Also it did not like that and it went a little wonky briefly so I don't recommend doing it.
I have taken out both fuses and i was making audible continuity check on both of them, but with the same multimeter not with second multimeter like you,so i was making audible continuity check on removed fuses with a multimeter without fuses because i took them out?does that made a damage to my multimeter since there was not fuses inside at the time of making audible continuinity check???or that was a stupid idea?please answer me
That is perfectly fine. The fuses in your multimeter are only used in the current measurement functions. All other functions of the multimeter would work just fine without fuses even installed.
Hi mr If the multimeter in continuity test mode (diode mode) and I have applied to its terminals a voltage of 220v Is the multimeter damaged ??? Because my multimeter is damaged but the display remains working and the LED mode rest works
The circuit on my multimeter are only 3. One test circuit for both mA and volt, ohm, diode. How do i check fuse for mA? do i put the red test lead on 10A circuit? According to your method my 10A fuse is working.
Ive got a Proster VC97 - and is written 20a and 500ma - when i opened inside are fitted a 10A and 0.5a fuse , i have the multimeter from new so nobody replaced the fuse before . Why it says 20a if in fact it is a 10a
This is a class on how a multimeter works ...
Thank you! I had no idea this caused my issues
Thank you. I was so sad but now I’m happy to see how easily I can fix my Proster.

Suggest watching the whole video 🙄
Thanks for a great video. FYI the Vici VC99 I have employs 20mm fuses.

Very well explained, thanks!

My brand new multimeter shows as a constant -.01. it worked perfectly up until yesterday while I was doing some testing

Lol that does sound like you violated it

Well, i plugged red one to 10A and tested for mA and it beeped. Does that mean fuse for mA is working?

I don't know. These are very cheap meters. For the price, I think they are a pretty good deal, but nothing surprises me about these meters :)
Thank you. My 200mA fuse was blown
thank you
Note: take your unit apart and measure fuse - I ordered 30mm by 6mm based on video it's way to big for VC99.
