I thought it was fascinating that he thought of women as homemakers. In my entire life, I've known very few who've ever really fit into that role full-time. Same thing about the "leisure era." What a quaint idea!

I love Jane Mount’s books! I’ve recommended them to family and friends who are fellow book lovers.

Oooh the Lifetime Reading Plan would be interesting! I’ve seen the “1000 books to read before you die”. I’ve often thought of buying it but it’s expensive. If I ever see it second hand somewhere, I’ll buy it.

Ooh--books about books are definitely a favorite here on booktube--at least far more than coffee table books about coffee tables...! A later edition of Clifton Fadiman's book had a HUGE impact on me a few decades ago--and even though it had a few additions, it was still a fairly traditional list (shall we say). Incidentally, Fadiman's daughter wrote one of my very favorite works of nonfiction: The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down.

I have yet to read The Spirit Catches You, but it's been on my radar for a while. I had no idea she was Clifton Fadiman's daughter. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hi Lin! I love your BookTube channel. I also favor non-fiction myself. I am currently reading through a chronological reading list of the Great Books which includes other disciplines as well such as history, philosophy, art & architecture and even math (sometimes).
In this video you mentioned your notebooks and that you had spoken about them previously. I looked but did not find a video on that topic. Would you please tell me where I can find it? I’d love to learn more about them. Thanks.

I believe it was the one about classic children's literature. I didn't discuss them in-depth; I just showed some of the ones I've kept. I also mentioned one in the video on Fairy Lore because I use that to keep notes for the novel I'm writing. If that's something people would be interested in watching, I could do one in the future. I'm glad you enjoy the channel!
