Did cat say why the rings broke with low miles? I have a 2005 c7 in a sterling 7500 is why I ask.
Almost always a leaking injector.
This was geared very low. It use to be used in the tree service. I believe a lot of idle time and running wide open at 65mph wore it out early.
Is it best to rebuild or buy a remanufactured engine
If you are going to rebuild I would have the bore checked and machined at a machine shop
