UPDATE: (ORIGINAL MESSAGE) Why are all these reviewers saying that the mk2 looks better? IT DOES NOT. It has this foggy, muddy look to it, as if the image is hidden beneath a brownish plastic film or something. I just bought the mk2 right now and it is driving me bananas trying to get rid of this opaque film look. I am testing two more today and then decide. UPDATE: I tested it against the Neo. The MK2 is superior. One more comparison tomorrow and I will report back. (UPDATE) I finally tested the third competitor, the OBSBOT MEET 4K. This is an excellent camera. It goes into focus immediately and it looks great straight out of the box. Image quality (on the same rez 1080P-60) is about 10% clearer than any camera I have ever seen. If it wasn't for a special requirement of mine - this would be my camera. The adjustments are fantastic and the effects really good - it can even take 20 Lb. off you at the click of a button, but.... I need a camera which allows me to replace my background with ease. The elgato MK2 makes this a breeze, really easy, it is built into it - albeit through Nvidia software, while the OBSBOT makes this task complicated. It has no built-in way to do this and although you can do it through the same Nvidia software, it is a very finnicky-long process. So final verdict, I am buying 2 MK2s. However, for those of you who do not need to replace the background and you want a straight forward plug and play camera, the OBSBOT is the clear choice. Thank you kindly.
I understand what you mean with foggy against the MK1, however the clearness isn't real on the MK1 but artificial. You can change the settings of the MK2 to look give the same fake sharpness. However most of us reviewers do prefer the more real look of the setting I had the camera on. I hope that will explain things a bit.
I bought the Mk2 & love it. Best part about the cam is the face-tracking. I don't have to fiddle with adjusting it so I'm centered as the software does it for me!
What you are seeing is the artificial sharpner in the MK1, you could turn that on in the MK2 as well, however I find that it looks way better without. I feel like the MK1 looks more cartoon like because of it if that makes sense.
They are definitely not the same camera. But you can definitely be of the opinion that one is better than the other. That's why I show a comparison, so you can make your own opinion.
Great job on this comparison! I was looking to upgrade my old C922 to one of the Elgato cams either Mk1 or Mk2 but I will definitely be getting the Mk2 soon! Also I like the background removal since it's a bit complicated for me to have a green screen, with this cam I might not even need it if it's gonna work well with background removal! Thank you for this review!
Thank you! Insta nah, get mostly spam. On Discord yes. Sorry you are the one with the collab. My head has been a bit full so I have parked it for a bit. I will try to reply after my holiday. (I have been having some mental struggles the last couple of months I am working on so things can be a bit overwhelming and then I just park them, but it was probably better to let you know lol)
I personally like the MK2 better, but that's why I kept the comparison in. If you have a different opinion you can choose to buy the other webcam instead 🙌
@trui non parlo di dati sulla carta, quelli servono a fare vendere di più, ma del risultato finale. A me sembrano uguali, la mk2 soldi buttati. Un saluto.

Yeah it's really great!!
is it just me but the mk1 is way sharper where the mk2 is blury.

mk1 i 2 to są dokładnie te same kamery jedyna różnica jest w ustawieniach w których mk2 ma obniżoną saturację i mniej wyostrzony obraz lol

Thanks for the video, will choose this one over the Logitech Streamcam now I guess!
Good choice! 🙌

Very Useful information, thank you🤘🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Mk1 looks a lot better. and you can get them for under $80 now so I am going to grab a couple.

Aint the OBSBOT Meet 2 or eMeet S800 (simply) better? 😜
Ook leuk om random een NL YT kanaal tegen te komen :D
I haven't had the chance to test those out, so I can't speak for those cameras. And yes I am Dutch.
@@trui np, and fun! I'm wearing one rn btw ( a trui) 😂
Prova MK1 con contrasto al minimo 10% e nitidezza a 20%, si vedrà come la mk2👋
That's wrong. It can't as it has a bigger field of focus you are never getting the same image 😜
