@@suniixxsav I'm truly glad you learned so much from him. You're correct that I've never gained any useful information from him. I have watched his videos though.
2:45 setting the RM frequency to 0% and mix to 50% for open hats can make them sound like they're being distorted by an 808. From there on, reduce the 50% mix to your liking and you'll have a great way to complement the 808
Finnallyyy, a video where i actually learned something new! I'm soo tired of the usual 'how to make a ... type beat' or 'how to mix and master'. Thank you so much rio! More video's like this pls
Rio you're definitely the goat for doing what you do, thanks for genuinely trying to help lift up the producer community with your videos. Wish you nothing but success and prosperity my guy
for the slowed intro you can also just set the time stretch knob on the rendered intro to "project tempo" and then automate the tempo instead of the pitch
Thanks for the 💎’s , as well as a friendly update on the things I already know. The slow down pitch intro, & using the shifter to give Hi-Hats space is a bless, I’ve been needing this added to my tool box. Hopefully we can become close friends someday.
An alternative to the shift knob for tip 3. In the step sequencer, hit Ctrl+k (cmd+k on Mac) This brings up the velocity editor. It also controls pan and other things. I think the setting is called shift in there too but it's the last one to the right. That should negate any effects from changing tempo because it physically shifts the note in the piano roll.
FL Studio native plugins are no joke especially synths. If you know what you're doing you can design any quality sounds. Kicks, 808, bass, hi hats, snares, claps, risers, atmospheres & other melodic sounds. GMS, Harmless, Toxic Biohazard, Sytrus & Harmor to name few are very powerful. They do have few fantastic stock presets but they ain't for preset babies. If you want best sounds out them you need to understand sound design. This is best for its time though not when you want to cook up immediately. It's all in you. Sometimes if you want a particular/specific sound & you find it no where, that's where sound design comes in. Then watch yourself coming up with some sounds that are so fruity out of a synth 🥭🔥
Actually for that wind up intro effect you can just right-click time on the rendered out 8bars and put it to project tempo. That should leave it on resample and then you get the same sound with BPM automation. You have to make sure that any sounds dragged directly into the playlist are either on stretch mode or have a fixed time value (leaving the time untouched while it's on resample or auto can get messy sometimes)
7:00 one thing to note about the slow intro technique is that having the whole beat off grid will fuck up gross beat, might as well just leave space in the intro in that case and cut it out at the end. appreciate the video bro edit: damn that super low 808 trick is sick
huge W preciate you bro🙏🏽

for the slow down intro at 4:02 i just like to automate the bpm, same effect and keeps everything in place
