I am an American and have enjoyed so much of the horse guards and all the others and the service expected of them. And to learn the history and purpose of their roles I turn to your sites, John. You walk us through the cities with all the histories surrounding them. Thank you so much for your efforts and purpose and humor!
I must say, it’s very interesting to see fellow Americans excited about the history of what they’re saying, and asking questions. It really does go to show that here in the United States even though we have a shared history, we are still very much interested in the ceremonial part of that history..
Yes, now watching this Channel and listening to John, I have really enjoyed learning so much about London ,the Horse Guards, and all the work that the Guards has to do to prepare for their duties. They are so dedicated to the country ashame that the tourists don't treat them with more respect. Love listening to John highlight of my day. Thank you John
Hi John, This is Maria. Netflix is under my husband's name, Mario, but I access this site much more than he does. Your video clips of Horse Guards are my favorite because you narrate exceptionally well and have a remarkable sense of humor. Most of all, I admire your loyalty to King and Country. Those troopers and their horses are outstanding, and many tourists seem to agree. It's too bad that a few think they can be disrespectful and inconsiderate. I adore the horses. So far, Trooper Ormond and Trooper Monty are my favorites, 💝but I love them all.💖 As for the young horse guards, they are brave and disciplined young men who I am sure made England and their families proud. They look sharp in their splendid uniforms Thank you, 🙏John, for giving us London City Walks. Keep up the excellent work. From a grateful, young at heart retired lady, Maria. God bless.😊❤

I'm not a vet, but a bit of milky pee like at 19:03 is quite normal for a horse, as far as I know. Something to do with what they eat, if they get more calcium than they need, they get rid of it by peeing it out, making their pee look a bit whitish. As long as the horse is healthy, nothing to worry about.
John. You have to remember that Horseguards is a military installation first and foremost. The tourists are allowed as a courtesy really. Military events on the parade ground will always take precedence .
@RogerFleischer-p3f . Copied from Wikipedia and it is accurate information. Horse Guards is a historic building in the City of Westminster, London, between Whitehall and Horse Guards Parade. It was built in the mid-18th century, replacing an earlier building, as a barracks and stables for the Household Cavalry. The current and previous buildings were, between the early 18th century and 1858, the main military headquarters for the British Empire. Horse Guards originally formed the entrance to the Palace of Whitehall and later St James's Palace; for that reason it is still ceremonially defended by the King's Life Guard.

Hi John, further to my previous comment regarding available water source at the boxes, well, following your video of today you can clearly see the water pipes inside the boxes. It would therefore be easy enough to fit a tap junction!! But the down side however would be a matter of safety, filling a bucket of water at the rear of the horse could result in spooking the horse, and as a consequence the trooper could be trapped.
Hmmmm politicians or royalty verses watching gorgeous horses🤔 tough choice there. Glad you got more horse time! Lol Am glad always glad to see Q10 for any amount of time. Thanks for the video today!
