It was way too big , so i unstitched it and cut it half an inch smaller. As an optometrist said i have a kids sized face lol Now they fit perfect. I also used fusible fleece on both sides, because light was getting through the fibers on the first one. I cut the fusible fleece a 1/8” off, to reduce the bulk when i sew. I cut the pattern half an inch smaller also.
My best friend got me some beautiful earrings and I'd been thinking of a way to gift her back until I came across this video. This was simple and easy to make, and barely took 30 minutes on my part. Thank you for this!
It worked! It was a tad hard for me to do this because I didn't know how to sew, so I had to learn how to do it first. But my sleep mask turned out to be so freaking cute! Even though it could be better. Thank you!
Make a narrow tube then thread the elastic through with a safety pin. The fabric should be cut several inches longer than the elastic so it can stretch out. Thanks for watching :) Have an amazing week.
I love this video. I am having trouble with the curved parts of mask having more of a pointed edge instead of smooth curve. I will keep practicing. Thanks again for sharing 😊
Glad it was helpful! Draw the sewing line before you sew so you have something to follow. Using pinking shears to do the clipping will also stop those pointed edges.
You are great .... U replied for each comments ...tats fabulous... Bcz no one reply for each comments ... some wat they reply for some comments .... Glad to see ur video .... Loved it
Hi Neelufher, thanks for noticing I try to reply. Maybe it will be harder when I get to 1 million subscribers one day :) Thanks for watching this video.
I know this comment is a bit old but I used to have the same problem (+ I don't owe a sewing machine so I have to sew everything by hand and it's terribly hard to follow a straight line...) and now I simply draw a line with a chalk pen to make sure my stitches are in a beautiful line! Chalk is easy to remove on the fabric without washing it and it's much easier to follow a visible guide than to imagine one as you go 😊
I used fold over elastic. If the elastic doesn't stretch it would be uncomfortable. Find elastic 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch. Any wider doesn't stretch as much.
Fabric shops normally sell this. If you are in a country that doesn't have it just use an extra layer of fleece, wool type fabric or flannel in the middle. Something soft and flexible. Put some hand stitching to hold it in place while you sew and then remove that hand stitching when it is finished.
Hi, I just do sewing instructions. Thanks for watching. If you want to sew one yourself, this is the link to the pattern blog.treasurie.com/diy-sleep-mask/
Sorry I wasn't sure what a nose gauge was. If it is some kind of piece over the nose you could make it as a separate piece and then glue or stitch it around the nose cut out shape. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for such a beautiful, easy and free pattern! My granddaughter will love it too :)
You’re welcome 😊
I used crepe silk for this. Turned out so nice! Thank you 😃
That sounds so soft on your face. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Oh my god this is awesome!! I used silk and the result was awesome thank you so musch

Thanks for watching :)
I have had problems sleeping in thank you so much
Happy to help
really appreciate this video & pattern. can you recommend the best "soft" cotton to use in making it? thanks::)
I used quilting cotton. Once washed it it generally nice and soft and the padding gives it a nice fee. Thanks for watching. :)
do you think flannel would be okay for these? thanks again. I love your videos!
Flannel works great too. What ever you use, wash it first so it is really soft.
Treasurie 👍
Turned out really nice. Thanks for making this video
My pleasure 😊
Great video! I can’t seem to access the page for the mask pattern - your blog is coming up ‘page cannot be found’...
Try now
It's very simple and easy in making 😊
Thanks a lot 😊
i used pure silk i love it thanks!!
Wonderful!
I love your patterns! 😄
Thank you! 😊
Will any fleece work?? Or does it have to be fusible??
Fusible is best but you can add a layer of regular and sew it around the edges. Thanks for watching :)
Good wow great outside
Yes, thanks
This is so cool! Can’t wait to try it out!! Thank you!!!💜
Have fun!
very clear and nice! Unfortunately I still have problems sewing a very good curved line..
It does take practice. Perhaps this article on sewing curves will help blog.treasurie.com/sewing-curves-how-to-sew-curves/
My best tip is to draw the line in before you sew.
Treasurie thank you for the reply, I’ll practice more and more! 😅

how long would you say the measurement for the elastic is?
From in front of your ears around your head. It will depend how stretchy your elastic is. Thanks for watching :) Have an amazing week.
also, I just went to your blog above and you have the burp cloth pattern instead of the sleep mask pattern on the blog.
Hi Victory, thanks so much for letting me know. I've fixed that now. Enjoy the pattern!

What is the fleece for? Do I need to use it?
It just ads softness and a bit of body. You could substitute interfacing or an extra fabric layer
This is lovely , where can I download the pattern please?
link in description. Thanks for watching :)

What kind of elastic is it because the elastic I use doesn't stretch for some reason!
I used fold over elastic. If the elastic doesn't stretch it would be uncomfortable. Find elastic 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch. Any wider doesn't stretch as much.
I really made what a nice eye mask 😁
I'm glad you like it

Welcome 😊
Do u have to use the fleece?
No it just makes it a bit thicker and softer. It will work without the fleece.
Great video. So excited to try this
Excellent! Hope it turns out well.
Cute ❤️
Thanks so much for watching.
I love sleep mask but I am making and I thing it's easy
Thanks so much for watching :)
How much elastic do i need?
13-14 inches fits most around most heads. Adjust it to your comfort. Thanks for watching.
Thanks 🌹
You're welcome 😊
Where did you buy your rings from?
Local stores. I'm always on the lookout.
Is it blind fold
Yes to sleep with no light coming in. Thanks so much for watching :)
how do. you get a template for the mask shape?
Link in description. Thanks for watching :)
Hi.. why did u clip the curves?
It helps it sit nicely along the edges when you turn it the right way. Thanks so much for watching :)
Where we get free pattern? How cn this happn whn doin in home? 🙄😪
Hi Ams, the link is in the description. It is blog.treasurie.com/diy-sleep-mask/ . Merry Christmas.
Has anyone come up with a way to make the elastic adjustable?
Tie it at the back. Thanks for watching :)
I making eye mask for me it is easy👌👌👌
That's great
1:38 2:48 nice animated overlay
Thanks so much for watching :)
Can I use dock interlining?
You can use any type of interfacing. Or even a lace of fleece or flannel. You just want a bit of thickness and softness to your mask.
How long is the elastic?
Measure around your head from the front of your ears. Thanks for watching :)
@@treasurie thanks so much
Does it block light
Depends on your fabric. Thanks for watching.
From where I can get fusible fleece
Fabric shops normally sell this. If you are in a country that doesn't have it just use an extra layer of fleece, wool type fabric or flannel in the middle. Something soft and flexible. Put some hand stitching to hold it in place while you sew and then remove that hand stitching when it is finished.
Hey can I just maybe glue the fabrics together from the edges instead of sewing?
Fabric Glue should work. I've seen them being durable enough for making pillows, so I believe it should endure the tossing of sleep.
Always worth a try with glue but sewing is always best. Thanks so much for watching :)
Great advice. Thanks so much for watching :)
Where can I find your free pattern?
On my blog. Link in description

Treasurie You’re welcome
Can i washed this or not please reply me
yes.
As long as you use a washable cotton fabric then YES you can wash it :) Thanks for watching
Please how do you get the free pattern?
It is on my blog. Link in description.
Treasurie Thanks.
what is the length of the elastic???
12-13 inches works for most heads. Hold it up to around your head and see what feels comfortable
Something attaching at the lower border to prevent light entering.
Ah! What if you made a piece that was a semi-circle and then hand stitched it around the curve of the nose?
can i buy the sleeping mask please.

How to attach a nose gauge
Sorry I wasn't sure what a nose gauge was. If it is some kind of piece over the nose you could make it as a separate piece and then glue or stitch it around the nose cut out shape. Thanks for watching.
