    It was way too big , so i unstitched it and cut it half an inch smaller. As an optometrist said i have a kids sized face lol Now they fit perfect. I also used fusible fleece on both sides, because light was getting through the fibers on the first one. I cut the fusible fleece a 1/8” off, to reduce the bulk when i sew. I cut the pattern half an inch smaller also.

    Thank you so much, I can't wait to try it! 🤩 Do you have a tutorial or pattern on how to cover the elastic with fabric?

    • @treasurie
      @treasurie  2 роки тому +1

      Make a narrow tube then thread the elastic through with a safety pin. The fabric should be cut several inches longer than the elastic so it can stretch out. Thanks for watching :) Have an amazing week.

      Glad it was helpful! Draw the sewing line before you sew so you have something to follow. Using pinking shears to do the clipping will also stop those pointed edges.

      I know this comment is a bit old but I used to have the same problem (+ I don't owe a sewing machine so I have to sew everything by hand and it's terribly hard to follow a straight line...) and now I simply draw a line with a chalk pen to make sure my stitches are in a beautiful line! Chalk is easy to remove on the fabric without washing it and it's much easier to follow a visible guide than to imagine one as you go 😊

    • @treasurie
      @treasurie  4 роки тому

      I used fold over elastic. If the elastic doesn't stretch it would be uncomfortable. Find elastic 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch. Any wider doesn't stretch as much.

    From where I can get fusible fleece

    • @treasurie
      @treasurie  5 років тому +3

      Fabric shops normally sell this. If you are in a country that doesn't have it just use an extra layer of fleece, wool type fabric or flannel in the middle. Something soft and flexible. Put some hand stitching to hold it in place while you sew and then remove that hand stitching when it is finished.

    How to attach a nose gauge

      Sorry I wasn't sure what a nose gauge was. If it is some kind of piece over the nose you could make it as a separate piece and then glue or stitch it around the nose cut out shape. Thanks for watching.
