    Hey guys!
    Thank you all for your feedback, I appreciate any form of constructive criticism. To be completely transparent with you, I couldn’t agree more - I interrupted Jennie a lot in this conversation. This was one of the first episode we filmed and a lot has changed/improved since then and will continue to do so.
    Thank you for coming along on this journey with me

      Trust me, you weren’t that bad. I was so glued from start to finish which is rare for me. It was like watching two people having a very in depth conversation. You only interrupted a couple times, which is normal. Jennie said exactly what needed saying. Not too much but just enough and your questions were on point. I’m so happy I didn’t follow the comments and watched for myself. Loved it! Keep going. Well Done!

    i was actually looking forward to this interview but i don’t feel like enough research was done or the right questions were asked. just abit of constructive criticism, there were quite a few points where you cut her off or answered for her. i also feel like her aura/body language was telling that somethings going on (she did mention her mental ) but i feel like the right questions weren’t asked. Also in the beginning you said something along the lines of she didn’t use to be open but back in the day she actually showed her brothers & relationship on her channel a lot so i would disagree there. Another thing that could have been talked about is when she first went viral on twitter about 10 years ago with her makeup before & after and how she managed to flip it in her favour and that’s how most of us discovered “beauty by jj “ and her talent..
    I like your interviews a lot and i’m sure with time they will get even better, but it will be nice if you allowed the person being interviewed to answer fully without assuming or cutting off there sentence. other than that keep up the good work 💕

      I just feel like there so much that could have been spoken about e.g her collab with black up - the highlighter palette, what happened to Whitney Marie - seeing as thats the hair brand she rocked for literally years and years and wunmi did say she first got a wig because of her so i thought that question would literally be an obvious one to ask. )
      not even questions to be intrusive, but i feel like people come to interviews to be vulnerable and show the world ‘there true self’, but the questions that were asked didn’t really give jennie that chance and so many small signs/ things she said were dismissed instead of built upon if that makes sense

    • @seph3795
      @seph3795 3 роки тому +15

      I agree. I was really excited about this video but I felt Jennie was being cut off so frequently, which I felt shouldn't have been, considering who she was interviewing and the behind talk about Jennie. This was a golden opportunity for Jennie to speak her truth and show who she really is but I don't think this interview was able to fully deliver on that part.
      Regardless, I still love Wunmi and how organic her interviews are.

    I love Jenny man she deserves her flowers cause she’s a pioneer in the game. I’ve met her a few times and she’s always come across as warm & has looked amazing. I think it’s unfair that she like many black women are labelled ‘stoosh’ or politely ‘introverted’ because they don’t adhere to preconceptions associated with them it’s so unfair man

    • @theohsospontaneous
      @theohsospontaneous 3 роки тому +3

      Such is life really. I think it's understandable that she may come across to people differently. I've met her a few times as well, and both times weren't very warm tbvh. So, I've just learnt to remember that influencers are humans too, and have varying moods. Some are much better at having consistent social personalities and others are not. Of course, I completely disagree with anyone assuming her personality without having had any contact with her but it's possible she's been in certain environments where people have been able to make these conclusions about her personality.

    • @ijeomaagu5465
      @ijeomaagu5465 3 роки тому +4

      @@theohsospontaneous yeah and influencers aren’t monoliths they’re humans. I feel she gets a bad rep for being true to herself & who knows, she could suffer from depression to social anxiety & I think she’s victim of the black womanly narrative of her body language & persona being reduced to ‘stush’.

    I believe that one of the reasons she plateaued is because she is very private with her personal life ...Contrary to Patricia Bright who gain more followers not only due to her private life but because she was one of the first Black woman in the UA-cam game to showcase her interracial relationship .

    Glad you did this interview, Jennie is the O.G of UA-cam beauty/lifestyle in the black community(u.k). We've all learnt so much from her.
    As a fellow introvert I know this personality is why she is not as big as she deserves, being an introvert can cost you alot professionally, I know this too well, but we just can't fake, and find it mentally draining to pretend. We love and appreciate you Jennie, you have taught us and continue to teach us so much, any U.K black lady in their late 20s/ early 30s know Jennie is our blue print of class and glam.

Or maybe she’s reflecting on life choices etc?... whatever it is I’m sure we’ll be seeing a transition in her soon & she’ll forever be a recognised OG.

Real supporters will always follow someone they love no matter the routes they take. Because they adore the person and are not just after trending content.

    Its such a shame watching this. Yes Jennie influences alot of us but like everything , you need to change with the time and now youtube is personality based. A great example is Jackie Aina, she just did beauty and had no personality but over time she transitioned. I dont think Jennie should compromise the person she is but she comes off very internally conflicted not just introverted. She just doesnt seem happy, which is sad. And for this reason i havent watched her in years. I do hope she gets exactly what shes after and her career takes a new turn. I think Wunmi done well, its not easy interviewing different personalities .

    I sometimes do the same thing when I get excited. But it’s very important as an interviewer to allow the interviewee to speak... pause after 3 seconds for background noise ... then continue to the next question.
    Also the questions needed a bit of structure. To delve a little deeper without getting emotionally entwined. Commentary such as “really, yeah, oh no” can be very distracting for the viewers.
    But honestly, as a broadcast journalist myself, I admire people like you doing your own thing and regardless of the industry standards, you do it anyway. Do well done 👍🏾 and I wish you all the best in the future ❤️✨
