- I spent $200 on the iPhone 1 from ebay and spent 24 hours STRANDED trying to SURVIVE using ONLY the First ever iPhone from 2007 also known as iPhone 1st generation / iPhone 2G ! I used it for 24 hours straight with no other technology to find out if the iPhone still works in 2021 and if it is possible to use an old iphone as an everyday smart phone and if it'll help me survive in public or if it is too old to work you. This was not easy... wont believe what happened...

iPhone 2G is the first iPhone, theres no such thing as “iPhone 1”
It was just called the iPhone originally, but is often referred to as either the original iPhone, iPhone 1 or iPhone 2G. They didn’t officially name it anything but iPhone because they probably didn’t intend to release a new one every year. Personally I’ve only heard of it being referred to as the original iPhone or iPhone 2G. Your dad has a sweet gig but it’s not officially called the iPhone 1

I’ve done something similar using an iPhone 3G for literally two days straight, wasn’t planned I just had to do so literally i was away and broke my phone and at the time the only thing I found that I could afford was an old iPhone 3G 😂 which I used for two solid days until I could get my iPhone 11 fixed, it was honestly the worst, you honestly start to see just how far technology has come when you lose certain functionality newer phones have these days,and frankly you appreciate the little things so much more

I used a 4s for reasons I’m too lazy to share, for a couple months in the summer. Not that bad imo, main thing is they discontinued a lot of services, it’s just worse now than it was 5 years ago. The phone has gotten slower as well
That's a battery issue. If the battery is old and shot then they make the processor slower so it doesn't pull as much power.
