This was great! I have hope for my new strawberry plant! It was going strong til we had an unexpected freezing night and I forgot to check the weather. Thanks for the tips!
I appreciate you sharing this information because I left my strawberry plants inside my greenhouse and it got over a hundred degrees couple days in there and I forgot to water them one of those days...and its been two weeks since that day and the leaves have been steadily dying off. Theres a lot of little new growths at the bas of the plant but I thought mine had a disease so I was trimming the dying ones off and trying to help encpurage the new growths to develop more. Also a good idea I just thought of is when your trying to get the dirt off of the roots of the plant you can take a garden hose with a shower type nozzle and turn it on to very low pressure and spray the dirt right off the roots without damaging the plant. I have two hanging thoughts that I bought that had established strawberries in them already I didn't grow them from seed like I do all my other plants and I think today I'm going to repot them into a planter that I'm building I unfortunately have to get outside sources for my soil because where I live it is literally all clay very hard to dig and I would have to amend the soil for a couple years before it even became remotely usable so I'm putting everything in planters and containers and use them either potting mix or a mix of that and some garden soil that's sandy loam soil from my old house that stuff was awesome for radishes and root vegetables like carrots and potatoes
I also live in a clay area, and I am in the process of making my own soil(my first compost will be available this year!). I do suggest doing that yourself. Since you have a greenhouse, you probably have a small supply of trimmings that you can compost. Any animal and kitchen waste can go in this compost, and every year, you'll have some compost that you can add to the soil you buy or even use it for compost tea. Another thing you can do is see if any of your local animal farmers are interested in giving away their animal's waste. Some are willing, I found out. Adding shredding cardboard, leaves, and grass trimmings will also increase the volume every year.
Thank you. Questions. Do you have to replant it? Can't trimming be enough? I heard they need full sun. How long do you leave them in partial shade? What caused the plant to begin to die in the first place? What fertilizer do you use? Only dry cow dung? Must you water strawberries twice a day, always? What if they are growing in the rain? Can they get too much water? Thank you.
I have a strawberry plant already fruiting and i can answer all your questions. Replanting it would be better so it can get more nutrients. If you just trim, photosynthesis will be reduced. They need full sun for 8 hours and them leave it in partial shade. His plant looked like it was dying due to lack of water. I think he uses natural soil, but I recommend miracle grow or organic soil. You dont need only cow poop. 1 medium sized watering every day, and 1-2 if it's very hot. Check the news to see if it will rain, but if it does rain and you watered it 2 times because it's hot, it should be fine as it's just 1 time. Yes they can get too much water. The soil should be moist always but not damp or filled with water. Hopefully I helped
Mine are having strawberries fruits already but the leaves are dying do I just remove the dead leave without replanting them …and how often can I water them pls
I was given a runner with a bit of roots. It's not in soil. I planted it, making sure to not cover the crown. It just wilted and died. I'm still hoping the roots are still alive down there and the crown would sprout new leaves. 😭
Very informative video. I kinda needed help with my strawberry plant. I had spotted very small red bugs under the leaves, which i thought were aphids. I sprayed the solution of liquid soap + ginger + water to the plant, esp under leaves, and in few days, insects have disappeared. But leaves started becoming brown. Growth has slowed down and new baby leaves are also having brown veins, and slowly turning brown. Am I killing the plant? How to protect it? I had brought plant in December, and in feb, it gave few fruits, but not it isn't growing much now (March). Is there life cycle for this plant..?
You need something stronger to spray.Ginger , etc not enough. May be try copper sulfate, sulfur, or ask professionals what to use to kill fungal and pest desease on strawberries.
Hi You are following the very simple nature growing of plant that is very admirable without advertising about useless fertilizers for interested people who wanna grow at home not for selling or business. I'd like to ask you follow your valuable methods for thyme, basil, ... other herbs as well, please.
‼️‼️‼️ Can anyone PLEASE help!!!?? I’m so frustrated. This is like the 3rd time I’ve ordered dormant strawberry plants and failed. Since it’s still cold in NY, I planted them indoors in a pot, in a seed starting mix blend, just to bring them out of dormancy. They’re ALL dying! Turning brown, uuughhhh!!! I’m so discouraged from spending money and failing. What in the world am I doing wrong?? 😭😭
I am having to do this with all my strawberries. I'm a new strawberry 'farmer', and I made a couple mistakes last year (many of the leaves rotted over the winter), so I'll be sure to correct my mistakes for the next winter. :)
I have some issues regarding the strawberry plant , the leaves are turning brown after 2-3 wks of growing.. it's kept into semi shade condition though..what's the remedy?
What to do if strawberries have brown tips of leaves and they are in flower bed? I heard they don't like wet roots so I watered 4 times a week in California, zone 10b. Should I water more often?
I have dying strawberry plant, I noticed that the pot of it became habitant for insect ant especially, I change the soil twice but still ant dominate the pot, I want to use pest control sprayer but not sure if it suitable for my plant..do you have another alternative on how to deal with insect?
Try putting ground cinnamon in some warm water overnight then water your strawberry plant and the area you see the ants with the cinnamon and water solution. Sadly it won't kill the ants but they hate the smell of it and will most likely relocate, cinnamon is also beneficial with killing fungi that could attack your plants.
@@lathac4487 Cover the mud with any cloth/Carton matrial/dry grass(Hey straw) to keep the soil moist and if possible expose it to sun only for half a day

You must replant them and you shoud keep them under partial sunside untill your plant regains its health.

I have done a video about making pasticide using orange peels and garlic please watch that one.

Dont keep them under sunlight.
no. i think your bitter gourd is an annual. it will die after the season. but the strawberry is a perennial. so it will live for many years.
U forgot 2 tell people about the crown smh
Water twice a day? That's very specific. Shouldn't it depend on what climate your in?🤔

I believed the strawberry you planted in the video died. Why? Because you buried the crown. Never bury the crown. It'll kill your strawberry plant.
Thanks for the comment.
