I didn’t grow up celebrating Halloween and always felt like I was missing out when we went back school and all my peers had candy. Now, I’m so grateful my parents kept us from participating in it. Once I looked into the origins of it, God really convicted my heart and kept bringing 2 Corinthians 6:14 to mind. I love the idea of going out on a family trip though!
My parents taught us that halloween was a satanic holiday so my family has never participated in any halloween activities. I’m now married with kids of my own and I want to teach my kids the same way I was taught. I personally don’t think there’s anything Christian like about halloween and I’m glad to finally see Christian influencers with the same view on halloween as myself!
@@JustaGuy-dv9hfBelievers are children of light not darkness. We are to walk in the light, in the day, and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. The Holy Spirit will not lead any of Christ's sheep to celebrate Samhain. It's the flesh that wants to take part in the things that God hates and we know that no good thing dwells in the flesh. You will walk in the Spirit or in the flesh, not one foot in the Spirit and one in the flesh, that's not possible. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:1-14
Thank you for standing up for the truth. When I gave myself to Christ, we stopped celebrating halloween. The kids don’t wear costumes either. We are not spending money for the things of this world, to satisfy the things of the flesh. The Lord told us to be stewards so instead of spending money on costumes, we use the money to go towards the Samaritan’s purse Christmas boxes. Thank you for this. Keep shining bright for Christ! God bless you and your family!
This is our second year not celebrating Halloween. The Lord definitely convicted me one year and had to stop altogether. My kids are 6&12 and they go to public school, I let them miss school.
Thank you for taking a stand and not cowering down! I'm 26 and never celebrated Halloween growing up and don't celebrate it now that I have my own family. I never resented my parents for that decision, and now I respect them for it. In the long run, your kids will respect you more if they see you take a stand for something and not waiver. Love you guys!
I agree with you Nate and Sutton. My hubby and I over 15 years ago stopped participating in Halloween. I do believe when you participate in evil functions or watch evil/scaring movies it invites the enemy to oppress and afflict us. Praise Jesus for His children caring more about bringing Him glory then participating in a worldly holiday! Love you guys Nate and Sutton! So thankful you are back to bringing a godly perspective to UA-cam users! We appreciate you!
This topic has been weighing on my heart for the past few years as well and agree with you. My favorite part was when you proposed the question, “How does celebrating Halloween honor and glorify God?” I thought that was very clarifying and reinforced with your chosen scripture. Thank you for being brave and sharing. You are a light and a pillar for Christian influencers made twice as strong bc you are a godly couple.
I feel like this time in history we need to be more aware than ever of what we are allowing in our Spirit’s. There is a need as a parent of 3 boys to be aware. We didn’t celebrate last year cause we felt this in our spirits. Thank you for sharing it really helps confirm a lot for me & that we aren’t alone in choosing to not participate!
What you mentioned about leaving for a trip durning Halloween, makes me think of the verse about feeling from temptation. The spirit is willing, but our flesh is weak and so if you feel convicted about something, it can be still easy to fall into temptation if you’re not careful. So I think it’s good you try to go on a trip, to help “flee” from temptation. 👍
Don’t dress them up for school, that’s one way to show them they are set apart and that even when everyone else is doing the wrong thing, they still shouldn’t
@@dorreyeet1529oh yeah cuz back in 2014 me and a quarter of my Eng class showed on cosplay on Halloween which lead to our teacher asking us each about our costumes (mine was the infinite stratos school uniform)
I’m Catholic and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with celebrating Halloween and going trick-or-treating and getting candy. They’re a little kids they should be able to trick-or-treat and have a good time with their friends. You can still believe in God and be a good Catholic/Christian if you go trick-or-treating nothing Hass to change about your faith.
I grew up not celebrating holloween. I was raised in a Christian home and my parents always taught me about spiritual warfare and how the day celebrates everything Satan is. He lies, confuses, and tricks us. As the bible says, he came to kill, steal, and destroy. Something interesting that I learned recently, is that on Halloween crime increases by 24%. It can't be by coincidence, when there are evil spirits at play and potentially possessing people into harm. I'm glad ya'll addressed this topic! More Christians need to wake up in my opinion :) There are SO many fun things to do, and as someone who never celebrated it as I kid, I can tell you I never felt like I was missing out on anything.
Well considering satan was actually an invention of priests thanks to random mistranslations and misunderstandings long after the bible was written..... then no day really celebrates satan. That said, Halloween is basically like Christmas eve.... the evenings CHRISTIAN celebration of another CHRISTIAN holiday....
@@skillcoiler Well even though it's any given day, a lot of people do celebrate the pagan origins and it stems from some pretty bad stuff. I wouldn't want to mislead or be a stumbling stone for kids, especially when they are easily influenced. That's my personal take! God bless ❤
@@nadia-yx6re " I wouldn't want to mislead or be a stumbling stone for kids, especially when they are easily influenced." You just kind of summed up why they INSIST you bring kids to church at a very young age..... There is even an entire video series basically explaining it to pastors as to why it is important to "get em young"....
@@skillcoiler I agree with that. Letting the child have a say in what they do is important, but guiding them and saying no sometimes is okay too. I would tell my child the full story of things, and listen to what they have to say. I'm not going to take them to Halloween, if they want to do that when they grow up, that's their choice. I'll take them to church, if they don't want to go, they don't have to when they're old enough. Totally allowed to make their own choices sometimes, but I wouldn't KNOWINGLY subject them to evil on purpose.
Sutton, it’s easy, don’t send them to school that day! This will be my kiddos 5th year staying home from their public school Halloween day, I tell their teachers in August when I meet them, we don’t celebrate Halloween, they will be absent that day. Easy peasy. I wouldn’t want my kids being at some evil event that we don’t believe in, with out their parents there, all alone. It’s a big no for me, we also stopped doing the fall church festivals years ago. Y’all are spot on with this! And I so appreciate y’all speaking on it. And I used to feel a little bad for the kids seeing their friends participating, and them “missing out” but it gets easier, they understand now that we don’t celebrate evil. Love y’all!
I grew up being taught that Halloween is the devils holiday. We never participated and never felt left out. I now have 9 children and they’ve never participated. We just enjoy the beautiful fall weather and scenery. We can make memories in other ways.
I love that y’all go somewhere away from the temptation on Halloween! It’s so so hard being a Christian these days but we can take so much encouragement from the disciples and those in the bible
Thank you for posting this video. I'm an elementary school teacher in a small, Christian school and Halloween is always a hot topic. I have kids that don't celebrate/participate at all to kids whose family go all out for halloween. I personally feel the same convictions that you shared in this video that as a Christian, I cannot in good conscience, celebrate or participate in Halloween at all. I pretty much ban all conversations about Halloween in my classroom, but I have a student this year who really wants me to explain why I don't participate in Halloween. I'm struggling on how to present it, but I think I will use some of these verses you mentioned to share with my students and their families. My prayer is that it will not cause any issues between me and my parents, but rather that there will be a mutual respect for one another and each person's ability to choose for themselves how they will handle Halloween. I think I will share a link to this video with my parents since you all expressed everything so well! May God continue to bless your ministry here on UA-cam as you continue to present His truth.
My husband and I are expecting our first baby, and we've started talking about this and how we want to approach Halloween in our house. I appreciate your "conviction sprinkling" - I honestly haven't ever even thought about not celebrating Halloween until my husband brought up his convictions about it, and this has helped encourage me to humble myself and really take the time to pray and think through celebrating Halloween with my husband. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! My coworkers dress up for Halloween and I’ve been debating if should participate or not. This was my final sign from God to be set apart and stand strong on what God has began to convict me of.
It took me two days to click on this video … because I thought ..here we go again … Christian’s justifying their celebration habits …. But no …. THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING CONVICTION AND TRUTH ! Mom of 8 and grandma of 7 …. who tried to never participate in darkness and justify it !
My church is doing a giant festival on Halloween however they don’t dress up and the whole goal is to get families and kids to come and to get away from the evil. This is my 1st year but the pastor says every year they always end up saving ppl that don’t know Christ and praying with them whether it’s parents or children. One person saved on halloween night is worth it 🙌
@tinafaye2985 What other Pagan holidays should God's church respect so much and be so afraid of, that it refrains from telling others about Jesus on that night? Halloween means NOTHING to me because I know Jesus. I would rather plow through the day by keeping the church filled with people rather than hide and lock the doors
Hey guys! I grew up never celebrating Halloween. At school, I was always one of the only kids that didn’t dress up and personally, it never bothered me. My parents talked with me and explained to me why we didnt celebrate Halloween and I think in my head I was completely okay with it cause I understood it was something that didn’t come from God. Based off of how my parents did with me, I would just explain to your kids the reason why they wont be dressing up and make sure they respect everyone who does participate. Praying for you guys🙏🏼🙏🏼
I agree 100%. We are a separate people. We should not blend in with the world or celebrate a demonic holiday. Everything we do should uplift God!❤ We celebrated fall harvest.
My husband and I have been discussing this. Our kids are 6 and 7, and up to this point, we have participated. We discussed it with our kids and they are ok with not participating and we explained why. God has been putting it on my heart and my husbands without realizing it until we brought it up. I was happy to see this video.
This is a new realization for me because i didnt grow up as a believer in christ till 2017 and it does make since to not celebrate halloween because it is a worldly holiday and it doesnt point to jesus. I have always loved this time of month and i will really need to tbink about this. Thanks for the video
1 Peter 2:9, NKJV But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Thank you for sprinkling some conviction out there. Your video has definitely spoken to me. I love your idea of going out and doing a fun activity/creating a fun tradition with the family instead of participating in Halloween. 😊❤
I used to paricipate but not focus on the scary creatures. Ever since I listened to John Ramariez's sermon on UA-cam. Now, I feel terrible for celebrating in the past. Look up John Rameriez. He used to cast spells, was born in a demonic family and is now follows Jesus. Maybe have a dress up party with your friends and family in the spring that is not associated with Halloween.
We celebrated Halloween until my parents became Christian’s when I was still fairly young. They went through all the steps like you guys. Tried trunk or treat and then conviction got so strong that my mother researched Halloween and we stopped that next year totally. We also dropped Santa and the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny. Which some folks try to act like my parents were awful for depriving us kids of it all, but none of us were affected negatively. We still celebrate Christmas, but Jesus is the reason for the season. And my parents names are on our gifts lol. Deep down I always knew Santa wasn’t real because what about the Poor kids? Sometimes we do a greater disservice to our kids by going with the flow. And if kids understand why we don’t do things, then they’ll be ok. My parents told us why we weren’t doing Halloween anymore and we were ok with it! Now we go a dress up to movies and other things completely unrelated to Halloween. As an adult I get the creeps now going by those decked out houses. As they feel almost demonic. I had the same weird feeling when I went to Lowe’s and a huge skeleton hung down near me. So morbid. So unchristlike to treat human life like that. If I found a real human skull I’d be horrified. So why do we glorify that and dress and decorate like that?
What conviction? I mean if you mean "the holy spirit" are you saying "the holy spirit" told your parents and these chowder heads that Halloween is evil even the one the church does..... but not the PASTOR of your church? Not saying your parents were awful just based on that but they weren't great.... 6/10 at best. Why do you think santa isn't real but jesus is? That said you symbolically eat body parts and drink blood as a christian and you don't think that is morbid? Or you know telling kids about a genocide of the entire population of Earth except one incestuous family and 2 of "every" animal?
god i miss the amount of candy i got throughout the mid 00s that generic jackolantern candy basket and the weight of all that candy i got in span of an hour or more eating bits of it along the way trading with randoms dumping it on floor when i got home and being forced to throw it out 2 weeks into november
when my relatives brought most my cousins over during my dads birthday my grandparents were adamant about all of us going trick or treating cuz evil is all around us and its the devils birthday blah blah so i convinced them mainly my grandmother that i was taking them to the trunk or treat event at the church across the main road which she was a bit weary of but after a lot of convincing from all of us we just went, for my cousins they were a bit annoyed of the plan until i told them once we got out of the house how many houses do you think we can hit along way? which made it a fun for all of us and no we blew right past the trunk or treat event and trick or treated way into the next neighborhood over.
I love that you guys are active on UA-cam again. 2 summers ago I had a lot of worries in my life and Nate made a video that related to my struggles and it made me worry about the task at hand which was when I was at camp as a counselor. And the Lord got me through it
Here’s the way I see it. Halloween has evolved over the years. It’s definitely gotten darker. My kids are grown and I wasn’t a Christian when they were little so they trick or treated. The last 3 or 4 years my husband and I do hand out candy but we hand out tracts too. We don’t decorate or anything anymore. I believe we shouldn’t be hiding in our homes lights out and letting Satan take over the night. We spread Jesus on Halloween. One time, this young teen girl came back to our house after she got her candy, held up her tract and said “I think what y’all are doing is really cool!”
But you are still encouraging them to trick or trick. And that they can do both, participate in darkness and light at the same time. I think it’s probably better you go outside and start witnessing and explaining why you can’t be lukewarm and the dangers of celebrating evil.
I grew up a preacher kid and am an adult now. We celebrated Halloween but with guidelines and a good talking. My father said this is a cultural thing. Do not celebrate the devil. Do not believe in demonic forces. Do not dress up as the devil etc. If you treat Halloween as a festive time to go trick or treating with friends and nothing more, kids will be fine. It is so funny... I would keep my kids away from smartphones, tablets, and social media before stopping them from celebrating Halloween.

Spot on! You both are a breath of fresh air and a shining example of light to lead the way! Thank you!
As a parent of adult children. I always took my children to church fall festivals. When the got in middle school I let them go with their friends in their neighborhoods. I told my children I didn’t believe in the message the world gives Halloween. I have an old Christian tract I would read and discuss with my kids. Today choose to celebrate Halloween but I still avoid the activities all together. When grand kids come I plan to do the same.
First of all I love your guys heart to do the right thing! I appreciate you guys sharing especially because you guys have kind of done a little bit of different stuff each year based on conviction! My husband was never involved in Halloween he grew up in a Christian home.. I however did not so I did take part in it.. but after finding Jesus and also having his mom as my mentor she really helped me understand these things so I’ve never been for the trunk or treats or participating in any way however the last 4 years I’ve grown more passionate in my disdain for it! My boys do really well not doing it they understand(to the best of their ability at their ages) that as believers this is only the beginning of things we will “miss” out on or not partake in so I feel like it’s a great way to show them we don’t have to do what the world does! Today was lived as normal and we didn’t even go out so they didn’t have to see any crazy stuff.. I hate the fear aspect of Halloween so try to keep them from it as much as possible! Thanks again for sharing I really value your guys thoughts and heart on this issue
This is so perfect. I feel this way about Santa too. It's lying to our children for one. And two our kids should be good not because they're afraid to get coal for Christmas but because they answer to God. That should be everyday.
Thank you for this. I needed some encouragement today. We left the public school system and its iur first year at a christian school. Our family tradition in thr past was we skipped the school costume parade and went out for breakfast instead. Which was a family decision i let my kids decide this. Im sad that finally out of public school and now at the christian school they celebrate costumes and have a parade too 😫. It started to make me question if im wrong. This video validates the decision we made couple years ago to skip out.
I’m glad to see this video! I certainly don’t think that Christians should participate in what modern Halloween has come to be. But I plan to actually explain this to my children in the future, rather than just keeping them out of the events, like what happened in my own childhood. I want them to understand the reason for separation. There is nothing godly about graveyards and death and gore and demons and witches everywhere.
You are making a wise and godly choice for your children and your conscience before God to steward them according to Truth, not the world. Taking a family trip is a smart idea to build family memories that are wholesome and that they will come to look forward to and cherish over the years. They won’t feel deprived at all because you’re replacing it with something so much better than Halloween. Our church is currently studying 2 Tim 2 where Paul is handing off the baton to Timothy to continue carrying the gospel forward and suffering for it and there is so much overlap with what we as individual Christians and ambassadors for the gospel must take away, including in matters for standing for Truth (aka against Halloween). I encourage you to read the whole chapter but have shared a couple relevant verses below: 2 Tim 2: 3-5 NIV “Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.” 2 Tim 2:15 NIV “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
In reference to the kids school, an elementary school I went to had what they called "Story Book Parade". It was around Halloween, but instead of dressing up as whatever you had to pick a character from a children's book. That was fun and innocent.
One thing we should all do as Christians the day prior or day of is anoint our houses and pray unceasingly. As believers we have a real target on our backs and we should to pray for our households.
My daughter is only 4 and we don’t celebrate Halloween. They’re allowing kids to dress up at her school that day so I won’t be taking her to school and I requested the day off from my job since they’ll be dressing up there as well. It’s hard though because her dad does celebrate Halloween and so if she happens to be with him for that date he will take her trick or treating like he did last year.
I was looking through the comments and stumbled upon your comment. I hope you know that you're not alone in this I'm in the same situation. My daughter's dad does the same. I only pray to the Lord to open his eyes about this holiday. I have talked to him about it but he sees it as I'm "ruining" her child hood
@ yeah same here. This year he had her and took her out trunk or treating. He told me “you worry about her when you have her and I’ll worry about what I do with her when I have her.” All I could do was pray for Gods protection over her. This year I also didn’t send her to school or go to work myself.
I have had literally all the same convictions very quickly after getting saved in 2020. No outside influence at all it was 100 a true Holy Spirit conviction! I'm a mom of 4 kids! "Celebrated" my whole life, kids too and this is our first year not participating fully! It hasn't been easy as my kids are in public schools and it's highly pressed which even makes me more suspicious honestly. ALL THE EXACT SAME CONVICTIONS! My daughter just missed a whole Halloween field trip today!
My husband and I discussed this so much when we had our first. We didn’t celebrate it last year for his first Halloween, but he did dress up and go trick or treating this year for his second one. I still feel so convicted to even let him do that even if he didn’t dress us satanic or scary at all! Glad y’all made this and it provided great insight. I will be sharing it with my husband so we can discuss more❤❤
I am a believer and follower of Christ. I just brought my kids out for halloween. Im watching videos on this subject and I feel horrible now. Please pray for me and my family. I want to lead my family the best I can as a husband and provider. I dont want to lead them the wrong path. I need to talk this over with my wife and kids. Thanks for sharing ❤
We also left the neighborhood and did feel like we were sacrificing something that was tempting to do but did feel good in the end to honor God and not the world.
Agreed! Food for thought: The more Americans entertain Halloween, the more normalised it becomes in other parts of the world. This is because because Americans impact ‘commercialised’ culture so much. You guys have a lot of power in that sense.
Job 19:28-29 28-29 “If you’re thinking, ‘How can we get through to him, get him to see that his trouble is all his own fault?’ Forget it. Start worrying about yourselves. Worry about your own sins and God’s coming judgment, for judgment is most certainly on the way.” That is all we as Christians really need to be concerned with. The hour is urgent. Look at how many of us were convicted. Look how many people are waking up before that great trumpet sounds.
My parents never allowed my sister and I to celebrate or participate in halloween whatsoever! Never felt like I missed out. I’m so thankful that my parents protected us and taught us to honour and glorify God in every area of our lives. I’m now a mama to a 7 and 4 year old and we don’t do halloween.
I agree!! We should not participate in the holiday at all. Its as simple as that. I'm thankful for how God guided my parents, and growing up, my siblings & I Had so much fun watching a movie and having treats while trick or treating was happening! :)
I always felt the same way and we just don’t partake at all with our kids. And yes sometimes people think we’re alittle dramatic but I’m ok with it. The sooner you put your foot down and just commit to it, people just accept that you don’t do it.
Thank you guys for talking about this so boldly. It is so important more Christians expose the darkness surrounding this celebration. Thank you for using your platform and influence to shed a light and sow a seed of divine discomfort for those that needed to hear this message.
Thank you. This is such a great, honest talk about the subject. I am very outspoken on this topic because I think that although God's word does not speak directly about this, it does speak very clearly about the many things that Halloween is all about. We are teaching our son that these things are not pleasing to God so we don't want to have anything to do with them.
I’m sooo happy to hear you say NO to this. It makes me feel safe to keep listening to you. It is wrong. If you are part of Christ’s body, you know it. If you read the Bible always with the purpose to get to know Who God is, you know how to feel and address this kind of things. The Bible is changing our minds with every page we read, with every passage in which we find the answear to the question “Who is God here?” Stay in Him, Stay in His Word. May God bless you and keep you 🤗🙏🏻🤍 „You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked, who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.” Psalms 12:7-8
We did participate in activities as kids and my birthday is right around Halloween so we had huge parties but after I was saved it was on my heart to not participate anymore. My husband and I then made the decision to do family time on Halloween and not take our kids outside. We bake cookies and play Christmas movies. Now that our kids are grown they didn’t feel like they missed out. Those family nights were precious to us.
It's the Wiccan high holiday, where the "veil" is believed thin and contact with the dead (spiritism) is made to get a leg up on the future. Ancient church pulled it in, "cleaned it up" and called it All Saints' Day.
My parents didn't want me to participate with the neighborhood children on that hallow day, but I wanted to so badly that they allowed me to. My childhood friend beat me up and I realized then that what my parents were trying to protect me from - this is "another" (openly celebrated) day the devil plays and the world loves and the flesh craves. Now as an adult, I have a hard time with Halloween and sometimes have called in to work or school bc the darkness is so heavy. Sometimes there is need to remove ourselves from the environment. Family trips, quality time together and "in the Light". I'd rather hide in Christ than get lost in the devil's deceptions. Did not our Lord "deliver us from the power of darkness"? So many verses to encourage believers to be applying the set apart nature God has given us. Praise Him for Body members who stand in conviction and discernment of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Sutton and Nate for sharing yours - continued blessings on your sweet family. 💛
Thank you for this video. Continue to stand firm in God's word and follow what the Holy Spirit has laid on your hearts. He is honored when we obey. Also, we keep our kids home from school on their Halloween day activities. We talk to them and explain the reasons why.
We have never participated in Halloween. My parents are from England and they did not have anything like we have for Halloween here in the US..(they came here in the 70’s) thankfully they saw the evil in it after looking things up and hearing what it was all about. I am thankful that we never did it. For our son who is now 5 we have not participated. For the first few years he was already in bed when people were trick or treating. Last year I took him to Wendy’s and then we came home and kept the lights off and had dinner in the basement. He loved it as having fast food is a treat. For school I pulled him out of it for that week when the teachers where talking about it. He is now in kindergarten and I have asked the teacher to let me know when she plans on doing anything (reading books or a party) and we will have him stay home. Thank you for sharing your views. It helps to know I am not alone in this. God Bless (oh and we also don’t do Santa…my son has always known he was pretend…hoping he does not tell his classmates..🤫🤭)
When the trick or treaters walked by I told my boys death and hell have passed us by. I too pulled them out of school. At least by middle school they have stopped the parades and costumes.
I am doing a bible study on this and preparing. For anyone curious, here are some bible verses I suggest reading: They are from 4 letters from Paul to various churches. 2 Corinthians 6:14-17 1 Corinthians 10:21-24 1 Corinthians 8:9 -13 Ephesians 5:11 Philippians 4:8
@NateandSutton, much respect to how you’re approaching this “holiday”! I’m a grandma now, and I do regret allowing my daughters to celebrate and go trick r treating- especially since I knew better as a born again Christian… I had read a book written by an ex satanist in the mid 80’s after I got saved, and he said (as other witches and satanic priests have stated as well), this is a day celebrated by these demonic forces, and it actually makes satan happy to see Christians joining in on the activities! This is something I’ve repented of, but at the time I caved in, I ignorantly didn’t want them to “feel left out of the festivities “😔🙏🏻
I grew up not participating in Halloween, but going to church events. As a parent now, we don’t participate in even church events. We don’t even pass out candy like we used to. It’s just an awful holiday. I love the idea of getting them away from it and doing something fun!
I love this video! We have a three year old and we decided not to celebrate Halloween last year. We are pushing forward not to do that this year. You nailed it all the feelings you both shared. We have a conviction as well in celebrating it. What threw us off last year we were attending a church where they were dressing pretty dark on the day of.. and posting on social media. It just threw us off since one was a fill in pastor of our church. The entire family dressed as demonic bloody clowns! It just seemed very dark. We are now at a new church that is diving deep in the word. There is also a stigma by other so called believers that we choose not to participate. Thank you for the video and the discussion encouraging us to stay strong not to do it!! Our goal as a family is to glorify God!!
I truly feel like some things are just a hard no. When churches supplement other activities in place of Halloween, it's the same as celebrating it hands down. We are called to stay away from that stuff, and to be obedient to the Lord. No dressing up, no candy, nothing celebrating that evilness. When we celebrate those things, we are letting that spirit into our heads and houses, no, we should stay away and pray.
Such a fantastic video!!! I think we should go to the Lord in prayer for everything. So I remember going to the Lord in prayer when I had my first born son and asking Jesus, “ Should I as a Christian celebrate Halloween?” And Jesus SO clearly told me no.
Deuteronomy 12:4 we’re not to worship God, like the pagans worship their gods. Origin of Halloween, Christmas and Easter all have to do with pagan gods.
it's a no go zone for those who truely desire to seek our heveanly father wholeheartedly (true disciples of jesus christ )not to engage in any enemy's/satan festivals .
The Holy Spirit is the ONE that will convinced us of our bad decisions and thoughts. It is so extraordinary to see how HE works. Step by step HE was showing you the right path. HE didn’t force you to do something, but convinced you with the best arguments (The Scriptures / The word of God), with the TRUTH. And, about your question at the end, my Pastor has always recommended to not send our little ones that day to the school. He even has recommended to the adults to not go to their jobs, if they are those type of companies that celebrate or let the employees to celebrate Halloween and makes you feel uncomfortable. God bless you and continue guiding you with HIS HOLY SPIRIT!
First of all not bummed at all☺️ I believe that you are wonderful parents & even though i don’t know you i am proud of the very thoughtful decision you are making on behalf of your family❣️ I truly believe you are doing good by God & your family & i wish you a wonderful time in the mountains ☺️ GODBLESS & thankyou fir your insightful video❣️🙏
"When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations." Deuteronomy 18:9 The Land flowing with milk and honey is word of God and the holy Spirit. You best believe when you Get the LORD that you do not do after these nations... for you a holy people unto the Lord your God.
Okay friends. I think this argument is a little over the top. I see nothing wrong dressing up your kid in costumes and indulging in candy here and there. As long as they aren’t dressing as Satan or a demon, what is the real harm? If this logic of pagan holidays is going to take effect, then you shouldn’t be celebrating Jesus‘s birth in December. It’s commonly known to have been around September. Furthermore, don’t have a Christmas Tree in you homes this year. That originated from paganism. While we‘re also at it, do not have an Easter egg hunt. That has pagan origins tied to fertility. OR we celebrate these holidays because they have evolved and changed meaning. Let’s not suck the joy from life.
I totally agree with you guys. I also participated in the celebration last year but after seeing a video from John Ramirez and another person who is an ex witch. My eyes were opened. As Christian we should not participate on halloween. God bless us all. Praying that all the Christians will see the dark truth about it. I shared your video on my facebook hoping that it will help others to realize the same thing. Thank you
I love this! I agree 100%! My husband and I have been in home Depot and Lowes a lot and the decorations have not been sitting right with me. Maybe I'm just getting older, but it seems like Halloween is just getting darker and more satanic. I will say I grew up not celebrating Halloween and it was hard. I really like that you guys make it your own!
The same goes with Christmas. I didn’t celebrate last year and won’t celebrate this year. God didn’t tell us the day Jesus was born, but he told us the day Jesus rose from the grave.
When we moved to the US we were shocked with all the decorations and celebration of evil being so normal and masked as just a fun thing to celebrate. I grew up in a christian home and even looking at the decorations as a child it was absolutely scary . My father has always told us this day is the day that Satan is glorified and people don’t even think what they take part in. We as Christians should stay strong together in prayer while the darkness is around us 🙏
This video is still SO RELEVANT! Thank you so much y’all for staying firm, not being judgmental, and sharing what Lord has changed within your hearts
Curious, did your parents tell you that there was a Santa Claus or an Easter Bunny too?
My parents taught us that halloween was a satanic holiday so my family has never participated in any halloween activities. I’m now married with kids of my own and I want to teach my kids the same way I was taught. I personally don’t think there’s anything Christian like about halloween and I’m glad to finally see Christian influencers with the same view on halloween as myself!
I totally agree, same here! We never participated in it at all, we always knew it was evil, dark, demonic. And I plan to teach my kids the same.
I don't think a day of harmless fun is satanic.
I can relate to this! I’m now more aware of how society is normalizing more and more Antichrist stuff
Amen!
would watching vids like this count too?
Maybe for you not me
What is "evil" about kids having fun dressing up in fun little costumes and getting some candy?
Pray that the Lord will wake them up that celebrate this " holiday." That is what I do now and trust God to do the rest.
Those poor boys are missing so much. They will grow up and resent you. We did.
@@RiseShineGlorifyThat's a disgusting thing to tell little children.
Really my kids are very subtle about it especially with anime being so mainstream now
@@dorreyeet1529oh yeah cuz back in 2014 me and a quarter of my Eng class showed on cosplay on Halloween which lead to our teacher asking us each about our costumes (mine was the infinite stratos school uniform)

How embarrassing that this would even be an issue.
Christian influencers amirite?
Thank you both for being bold in Jesus Christ!
We can glorify Our God at all times. He isn't glorified in this and He doesn't deserve for us to treat Him this way -
I grew up not celebrating holloween.
Or it could be a coincidence I mean we know crime does rise during the holidays.
I totally agree I dont believe we shud do it at all whatsoever
Sutton, it’s easy, don’t send them to school that day! This will be my kiddos 5th year staying home from their public school Halloween day,
I tell their teachers in August when I meet them, we don’t celebrate Halloween, they will be absent that day.
Love y’all!
Yeah I think that’s what we’re gonna do is just keep them home that day and go do something fun!
No, they'll resent you very much when they grow up like everyone I know now.
Thank you for sharing this!! I agree and so glad other Christians are seeing this side of things too! Thank you for the scriptures as well!
No way that shouldn't even be a question. that is so sad this has to be a address. Thanks Nate & Sutton❤
Which is why I’m not religious
I love your idea of getting away and doing something positive and fun together as a family. I think that is definitely honouring to God 😊
Would you be dressing up for Halloween either way?
Loved this video from you! Miss this kind of content from you guys! Feels like your original content! ❤

One person saved on halloween night is worth it 🙌
God never asks us to participate in evil to win anyone to Salvation...
@@tinafaye2985How are they participating in evil?
@@Conan_the_rastafarian Halloween called by any other name is still Halloween..
That’s great, it’s encouraging to hear it didn’t bother you/you didn’t think you were missing out!
I agree 100%. We are a separate people. We should not blend in with the world or celebrate a demonic holiday. Everything we do should uplift God!❤ We celebrated fall harvest.
When you use the bathroom do you uplift God if not then doesn't that mean you sin. Second of all what do you mean not blend in with the world?
My husband and I have been discussing this. Our kids are 6 and 7, and up to this point, we have participated. We discussed it with our kids and they are ok with not participating and we explained why. God has been putting it on my heart and my husbands without realizing it until we brought it up. I was happy to see this video.
This is a new realization for me because i didnt grow up as a believer in christ till 2017 and it does make since to not celebrate halloween because it is a worldly holiday and it doesnt point to jesus. I have always loved this time of month and i will really need to tbink about this. Thanks for the video
All you need to do is type in "ex witches and Halloween" in UA-cam's search bar....and you will see what this holiday is really about.
1 Peter 2:9, NKJV But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Thank you for sharing on this topic. It was interesting to hear. No judgement
Love this video! My grown children are so grateful that we, as a family, never celebrated Halloween over the years.
Ikr at the most I’d trade with my friends at school till we ran out of candy and that would stretch out even till Christmas
when my relatives brought most my cousins over during my dads birthday my grandparents were adamant about all of us going trick or treating cuz evil is all around us and its the devils birthday blah blah so i convinced them mainly my grandmother that i was taking them to the trunk or treat event at the church across the main road which she was a bit weary of but after a lot of convincing from all of us we just went, for my cousins they were a bit annoyed of the plan until i told them once we got out of the house how many houses do you think we can hit along way? which made it a fun for all of us and no we blew right past the trunk or treat event and trick or treated way into the next neighborhood over.
not a bad work around but you'd still be trick or treating

The video was called focus on God not your problems. Thanks for ur videos and encouragement. Praise the Lord Jesus.
They are good at uplifting and encouraging the body of Christ in Truth!
This is what we’ve done too!
Thank you!
Right, because teaching little children to be afraid of nothing is light.
You guys got the right bible verses for this topic. Thanks be to God and you guys for talking about this

Amen !
I encourage you to read the whole chapter but have shared a couple relevant verses below:
2 Tim 2: 3-5 NIV “Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.”
2 Tim 2:15 NIV “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
You’re spot on Sutton. Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit will keep you. Standing with y’all 🙏
In reference to the kids school, an elementary school I went to had what they called "Story Book Parade". It was around Halloween, but instead of dressing up as whatever you had to pick a character from a children's book. That was fun and innocent.
One thing we should all do as Christians the day prior or day of is anoint our houses and pray unceasingly. As believers we have a real target on our backs and we should to pray for our households.
Bless you guys!!
Prayer to intercede for the church nd against evil spirits that are around in this event
I will be sharing it with my husband so we can discuss more❤❤
No. The Bible is clear that you should stay away from evil or any impression of evil.
Yes halloween is fun
Job 19:28-29
28-29 “If you’re thinking, ‘How can we get through to him,
get him to see that his trouble is all his own fault?’
Forget it. Start worrying about yourselves.
Worry about your own sins and God’s coming judgment,
for judgment is most certainly on the way.”
That is all we as Christians really need to be concerned with.
The Bible is changing our minds with every page we read, with every passage in which we find the answear to the question “Who is God here?”
Stay in Him, Stay in His Word.
May God bless you and keep you 🤗🙏🏻🤍
„You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked, who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.”
Psalms 12:7-8
We did participate in activities as kids and my birthday is right around Halloween so we had huge parties but after I was saved it was on my heart to not participate anymore. My husband and I then made the decision to do family time on Halloween and not take our kids outside. We bake cookies and play Christmas movies. Now that our kids are grown they didn’t feel like they missed out. Those family nights were precious to us.
Aw that’s so sweet!
For anyone curious, here are some bible verses I suggest reading:
They are from 4 letters from Paul to various churches.
2 Corinthians 6:14-17
1 Corinthians 10:21-24
1 Corinthians 8:9 -13
Ephesians 5:11
Philippians 4:8
What was the title of the book that you read?
I grew up not participating in Halloween, but going to church events. As a parent now, we don’t participate in even church events. We don’t even pass out candy like we used to. It’s just an awful holiday. I love the idea of getting them away from it and doing something fun!
Fall festival is another name for Halloween...
So good! Thanks for being bold!!!
Deuteronomy 12:4 we’re not to worship God, like the pagans worship their gods. Origin of Halloween, Christmas and Easter all have to do with pagan gods.
Christmas is an idol most Christians don't want to give up.
I’ve never celebrated/participated in any of them. I do believe that April 6th is a holy day, but ain’t got nothing to do with an Easter bunny.
it's a no go zone for those who truely desire to seek our heveanly father wholeheartedly (true disciples of jesus christ )not to engage in any enemy's/satan festivals .
I would definitely keep my kids home from public school on a dress up day. Myself anyhow ❤ pray over it ❤
First of all not bummed at all☺️ I believe that you are wonderful parents & even though i don’t know you i am proud of the very thoughtful decision you are making on behalf of your family❣️ I truly believe you are doing good by God & your family & i wish you a wonderful time in the mountains ☺️ GODBLESS & thankyou fir your insightful video❣️🙏
I love you guys and the bold stands you take. I was raised not celebrating Halloween either!
Thank you for sharing
Thank you
Set up looks great!
Thank you! 🩵
Isn’t Christmas about giving?
@@streetwatcher_it’s rooted in the pagan worship of Baal
@@narrowpathfarm well that sucks
In agreement!!
