- Back in 2019 a preacher was arrested for street preaching. You can hear him cry out to the atheist police officer to not take his bible from him. What many people don't know, is long after this video was aired, the Atheist police officer that took his bible became born again. His name is Oluwole Ilesanmi and was 64 years of age at the time of his arrest. Scotland Yard paid him £2,500 for being 'humiliated' and no further action was taken. It comes to something when a person is arrested because they speak the word of God on the street, a non criminal offence.

Unfortunately the police are controlled by their overloads and if they protest, they will lose their jobs and/or their pensions. Good to hear that they let the guy go and GREAT that the one cop found Jesus.

Cultural. His style is also the same in my part of the Caribbean. Our preachers are very expressive with the hands, however he needs to watch this video to see what obtains in these parts of the world. A tear came when he asked for his bible not be taken. Glad to know the cop is saved.

Brilliant video, Ray, completely correct, especially warning us all (son was FL PD & USCG which is federal) how to conduct ourselves with law enforcement. I told my husband years before Queen Elizabeth passed that the Godly UK is GONE - while there are MANY Jesus believers in the UK, Isaiah 5:20 has completely taken hold of the entire nation of Great Britain - Ireland included. In fact, a military veteran brother in Christ Jesus who married an Irish lass and lives in Ireland tells me to NOT share their name in whatever he sends to me to share and warn because the law in Ireland - where his kin are from and many still live - will come and ARREST THEM BOTH. Our world is quickly becoming Isaiah 5:20. We just are still a bit stunned and disgusted at seeing it happen in our post WW2 parents' lifetime - but we stand Ephesians 6:10-18, praise God, trust God, and witness to as many as we can. There have been difficulties with the police in the past few years, but the Trafalgar Square event was remarkably free from police harassment.
Many evangelists have been brave in the face of police overreach and thankfully have received compensation for their unlawful arrests. There has been a lot of anger in this country about 2 tier policing and hopefully the police will start to adjust, taking crime more seriously than non criminal events. It has also been beautiful to see the Presence team on British soil too.
When you were preaching in Australia many years ago, things are a little different now. This man responded exactly as he should have and the salvation of the officer proves that he displayed profound commitment to his Lord in spite of inevitable arrest. I hope you learned something from this courageous brother. There is always room for growth.

Ray, I didn't know you preached at Waikiki Beach! I was baptized by Bob Turnbull on Waikiki Beach in the Pacific Ocean in 1974. I was able to witness to over 500 people on the beach that day. I will never forget that time of my life. I absolutely love your videos from Huntington Beach. My husband grew up there and was born in Torrence, CA (his old stomping grounds). 😁
In addition to the possible distraction in which the officer might get stabbed, the one waving with the same hand can also punch the officer.
Besides that, it is rude to wave your hand in front of anyone.
An officer might have had a terrible day with entitled male and female Karens, combative criminals, conducted a wellness check seeing badly neglected children with parents overdosed, had a traumatic experience, and here's this unreasonable, seemingly radical preacher screaming at his face, waving his hand to his face, which could cause him to break composure and losses it.
Granted, it is the worst-case scenario, but you would never know what he had been through before he met you.

I went to prison for preaching 😂
I'm undocumented immigrant I went to court fro driving with expired license all I had to do was to say I'm guilty and pay the ticket but i told the judge that one day she was got to be judged by JESUS😂 she got so mad and told me you are not here to talk about that and told the officers to arrest me, they put me in a maximum security prison for a week with the worst criminals you can imagine 🤷🏻♂️😂but I'm not wimp nor coward the 30m they let us out, I asked the gard for a room and would preach to the inmates many of them gave their life to GOD one of them was an 18 year old condemned to life for raping and killing a little girl. It amazes me how GOD could send me there to save a man like that, I didn't have to convence them they were desperate for the forgiveness of GOD. The love, mercy and compassion of GOD has not limits. So don't be coward for the Bible says the cowardly will not enter heaven so preach the WORD OF GOD with baldness and if you suffer because of it rejoice like Peter if they put you in jail preach to the lost 🙏☝️💪

Words of wisdom. Show respect to the police.
Christians twerk for cops all the time. Yet cops treat us like trash. "breach of the peace", give me a break. They should have just said "we are just trying to put you behind bars because we hate Christianity."
Respect is earned not given. You must give it to get it. Cops rarely show respect to those they serve.
He was not disrespectful to the officer he was passionate in preaching the gospel.

As an atheist, this guy (if this is the full story and he wasn’t actually doing anything else that wasn’t shown on the video or something) shouldn’t have been arrested or told to go away. Everyone should have the freedom to practice whatever religion they want.

This guy was just preaching the truth. He wasn’t waving his hand in their faces like that. That’s just how some people talk. If the police didn’t like it, they could’ve backed up a little bit and gave him his personal space. Also, on an unrelated note, I still don’t understand why police officers don’t carry guns in other countries. Even if there is less violent crime, that represents their ability to protect themselves. And if you can’t protect yourself, how can you protect others? But I digress. Nonetheless, God still used this save another soul from the fires of Hell, praise God Almighty!

No, Britain is not USA. Freedom of speech is a USA right bound by our constitution. It is not the same in Europe. Britain has hate speach laws, USA blessfully does not.

The preacher didn't treat the police as enemy. He is an African brother just behaving as he normally does culturally. The UK has a huge multicultural population including a vast African population. The officer, I am sure, was aware of his cultural behaviour, which in no way showed the police was an enemy. And the police who came to faith said it himself, "he knew he [the preacher] hadn't done anything wrong"!! Police are trained to treat any Christian witnessing on the street with contempt and in a harsh way; proof of that is the very many harsh and irrational arrests like this in the streets of the UK regardless of the behaviour, etc of the witnessing Christian believer. This country is mostly secular and atheist and materialistic and despises all that had to do with God and His Christ. That is the reason for the arrest and, respectfully, your comments on your video Mr Comfort calumniate this African brother. You really don't know what it is like here in England Mr Comfort, so please be very careful with evaluations and comment you make from the distance. Still, God bless your evangelism for the glory of the Lord's name.

Unfortunately the constable either did not know, did know or didn't care that his use of 'breach of the peace' power of arrest requires reasonable and immediate belief a person will suffer immediate physical harm or damage to their property in their presence...it has noting to do with 'peacefulness' ie peace and quiet...tho great ending that 1 was brought to repentance.
How can they arrest someone for freedom of speech. This is very concerning in a supposed free country

This is sick, but seems to be come the normal in certain countries. I have seen pastors in the USA be removed from street preach while other groups get away with saying anything they want.
We know we are living in times when other religions are given preference to Christian street preachers. However, we are ambassadors for Christ and should conduct ourselves properly and not give in to frustration.
Colossians 4:5-6 “Conduct yourself with wisdom in your interactions with non- believers…. Let your speech at all times be gracious and pleasant, seasoned with salt so that you will know how to answer each one who questions you.” Nothing about getting in peoples’ faces and forcing them to listen. The Apostle Paul persevered for several months (Acts of the Apostles 19:1-10) in reasoned debate before giving up and making himself available in a different place.

Ray? I am going to Indonesia (the most poplulous muslim nation on earth) to preach the gospel. How do i keep from being beheaded or is that my fate? Im going there because that is where God wants me to be. Help…..i have sent messages before but you wont respond. Seriously, help? Any advice?
Have you considered reaching out to Missionaries who are familiar with or are already in Indonesia? What about your own local church, what connections might your elder team have?
These are only suggestions, I don't know what you have tried.
