God bless you Ray. You have so much patience. I find it extremely difficult talking to catholics. Both my parents were catholics. They went to church every Sunday. My father was a violent alcoholic and my mother was demon possessed. Because of that I wanted nothing to do with religion. I became born again three years ago by the power of the Holy Spirit. No one told me about Jesus, HE did it all and I thank Jesus every day for saving me.
@@d.martinez-rodriguez333 Thank you, sadly they both passed away 20 years ago. I don't know what their last thoughts were as I was not present when they passed away. I can only hope they repented on their death bed.
@@lqueen101 Dear Jesus Sibling, I join you and d.martinez-rodriguez in this hope your parents got into Heaven. My father drank heavily after WW2 in the Pacific; he was violent, he was a horrible father and a worse husband, and my mom was afraid of him and didn't stop him from doing anything; then mom lived in guilt when she got older. I forgave my dad 33 years before he passed. Though he was dying of Leukemia at 93, lying in his hospital bed with RVs in his body, weighing only 120 lbs, I was STILL afraid of him - but my love for him because of forgiving him BECAUSE JESUS HAD FORGIVEN ME was stronger, and so I asked him if Jesus was his Savior, and he was shocked, surprised - because NO ONE in our strict catholic non-bible-reading-non-praying family had EVER spoken of God, faith, Jesus, His LOVE, His Grace, His Mercy - and he was shocked that I mentioned Jesus' Name, that I was getting PERSONAL about something/Someone Who he himself had NEVER spoken of, shocked that I just asked him about Jesus, but his eyes filled up and he said softly, 'Yes," so I said smiling, started breathing again, 'OK, dad. I'LL SEE YOU IN HEAVEN!' So I know my dad got his foot inside the door even though he might not have gotten any rewards from Jesus, like the one thief on the cross next to Lord Jesus. So maybe God was able to reach your father, your mother. God knows, and I know you know that. God bless you, dear.
I was raised catholic and had the same attitude as this guy. I was born again at the age of 36 and the Lord freed me from religious blindness. Feel sorry for this guy and for my family. Praying for all that is trapped in religion to be freed and accept Jesus as their Savior.
Yes it is folks or your saying all the first Christians had it wrong until Ray said so Or really the 1970 s fundamentalists movement, Catholics, Orthodox, Anglican s , Lutherans Prespertyans and Methodist all believe your saved from baptism but ok the first 1800 years of the church was wrong
That’s called baptism of desire and there’s baptism by blood , but Jesus wants all that can to be baptized as he instructed we are saved by baptism but there are circumstances when that’s not possible but the means Jesus wanted to use is baptism all Christians confirmed this until the fundamentalist movement
The Bible directly links baptism to salvation: Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” John 3:5 “Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.’” (cf. 3:3: “unless a man is born again …”) Acts 2:38-41 “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him.’ And he testified with many other words and exhorted them, saying, ‘Save yourselves from this crooked generation.’ So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.” (cf. 9:17-18; 1 Corinthians 12:13: both associate the Holy Spirit with baptism) Acts 22:16 “And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.” (cf. 9:17-18) Romans 6:3-4 “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” 1 Corinthians 6:11 “And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of deeds done by us in righteousness, but in virtue of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit…” 1 Peter 3:21 “Baptism … now saves you …” In Acts 2:38-41 alone we learn that baptism brings: (1) “forgiveness of sins;” (2) the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which no unregenerate person could possess; (3) salvation (“save yourselves”); and (4) inclusion in the rank of saved “souls” (cf. Galatians 3:27). Romans 6:3-4 incorporates the blood and redeeming death of Jesus into baptism by referring to his “death.” So also does the larger passage of 1 Peter 3:14-22; 4:1.
@@TRUTHDrops good for you! I was an adult before I left. Better late than never.... I was slow to leave because of my family. I knew I would face hellacious backlash from my family for leaving the Catholic church. My mother in law actually accosted my 6 yr old and 4 year old threatening them...saying to them, they were going to burn in hell with the devil if they didn't go back to the Catholic church! She told them that their mother (me) was bad for causing them to burn in hell. I was chastised by other family members, because I was no longer receiving the sacrament and forgiveness of sin. Sad how they honestly believe their tradition is what grooms them for heaven. BUT NOW...I AM SO FREE TO WORSHIP GOD in body, soul, and spirit! No more holy looking, but empty traditions!
Did you become a person that obeyed the Commandments of Christ ??? How many times have you sinned since then ??? If you were Catholic did you sin any then ??? What's the difference ???.
We’re in the Bible is bible alone Question: I heard a radio preacher talk about the "biblical plan of salvation"--which, of course, he said the Catholic Church didn't obey. How does our Church understand the biblical plan of salvation? Answer: The Church understands that we are all sinners in need of a savior (Rom 5:12-21). We are inheritors of original sin and all its consequences, and by actual sin we distance ourselves from God. We can’t save ourselves, but we don’t need to: Jesus Christ has paid the price for our sins. The Catholic Church teaches that salvation comes through Jesus alone (Acts 4:12), since he is the “one mediator between God and man” (1 Tm 2:5-6). The saving grace won by Jesus is offered as a free gift to us, accessible through repentance, faith, and baptism. We turn away from our sins, we are sorry for them, and we believe in Jesus Christ and the gospel. Repentance shows our willingness to turn from things that keep us from God, and baptism renews us, filling us with the grace necessary to have faith and to live it. This belief is more than just “head knowledge.” Even the demons have that (Jas 2:19). It’s more than just believing you’re saved. Even the Pharisees had that (Jn 5:39). True, saving faith is one lived and exhibited daily: It is “faith working through love” (Gal 5:6, cf. Jas 2:1-26). Sometimes the Church is accused of teaching “salvation by works,” but this is an empty accusation. This idea has been consistently condemned by the Church. Good works are required by God because he requires obedience to his commands (Mt 6:1-21, 1 Cor 3:8, 13-15) and promises to reward us with eternal life if we obey (Mt 25:34-40, Rom 2:6-7, Gal 6:6-10, Jas 1:12). But even our obedience is impossible without God’s grace; even our good works are God’s gift (Rom 5:5, Phil 2:13). This is the real biblical plan of salvation.
Imagine a church where ALL men of authority are forced to be w/o a woman. God already said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” And that’s how a perverted church is born.

I was raised Catholic. I never knew anything about being born again until I visited a friend's non-denominational church and they explained it to me. Changed my whole life
Me too, 1973, when my best friend from Huntington Beach High School asked me to go to Calvary Costa Mesa - blew me away - Holy Spirit hit me - listening to Pastor Chuck Smith, a tall skinny long blonde-haired surfer peer teenager who spoke also named Greg Laurie and Pastor Romaine who said, 'Going to church makes you a Christian about as much as going to McDonald's makes you a cheeseburger.' AMEN AND AMEN! Accepted Jesus as my personal Savior that night, got baptized by 'Papa' Chuck Smith in Pirate's Cove at Little Corona Beach that summer - I didn't want to see Greg's movie version - I lived it and knew.

Yep and it's amazing how the RCC gets away with IGNORING John chapter 3, 1 Peter 1:23, Titus 3:5 & 2 Corinthians 5:17 i.e the key passages about regeneration in the New Testament. In 40 years as a lost RC, I didn't see these passages read at mass. Because THEY NEVER ARE READ at mass! The Bible passages the RC misses out are not ignored by coincidence. "Born again" was something thought was "Protestant" 🤦🏻♀️ I had no idea Jesus says "you MUST be born again" in John 3. And I had no idea that a child of God is defined in John 1:12-13 as someone "BORN OF GOD" i.e born anew (Matthew 18:3 is related too). As an RC, you outsource your understanding to men in authority. It's cult-like for that reason alone.

I feel sorry for this guy - as an excatholic times 50 years - THANK YOU JESUS FOR SAVING ME. I can't talk to catholics. This guy is full of pride. PRIDE IS WHAT RELIGION GIVES. This guy starts slamming Ray and defeated his own argument right off the bat. Catholics MOSTLY REFUSE to read God's Word and STUDY GOD'S WORD. I can't talk to them. God bless you, Ray. My entire family, except my 89-yr-old WW2 mother, refused to listen to me, but my mom listened and I read the Bible to her before she passed, she asked me to tell her about Ruth, Daniel and the Rapture and Revelation many times, she was astounded and excited!, and I know she and my dad are in Heaven - though RAISED catholic and knew nothing about God's Holy Bible. I feel sorry for this guy. He is completely lost and full of pride. HE discerns God's Word the way he WANTS to in order to allow him to live his life the way HE wants to - NOT the way GOD tells us to. GOD BLESS YOU, RAY
Just like Ray says...this man has created a God in his mind that suits him and he gets help by a false doctrine in doing so. Pray for them...I have Mormon family that are just like this man.
@uscgmom9796 - I so agree with you. I'm an ex-Catholic as well. My neighbor's nephew and my classmate led me to Christ in 1972 at the age of 14. After reading the entire Bible for myself and seeing how the Catholic Church's teachings contradicted God's word, I left Catholicism and never looked back. I was Catholic when the mass was still said in Latin. I grew up in a small town so Vatican II didn't take effect right away. I was never once taught anything resembling what the Bible teaches. As a child, I was taught the false doctrine of grace through the 7 sacraments. No where is this taught in the Bible. I feel sorry for this man. His pride and false belief that belonging to a specific church gets him into heaven is hindering him from having a true relationship with Christ. I pray that he recognizes his need for a savior because without him, our good works are as filthy rags to a holy, sovereign God.
Pride and sexual immorality are Satan's two strongest weapons to deceive our consciousness and hearts. When we so desperately want our own deeds to be righteous we'll believe anything, even the most basic lies the Bible refutes, to justify ourselves. I pray this man has a revelation one day and breaks the chains of religious pride he's bandaged by. Religion doesn't make you righteous. Religion doesn't grant you salvation. Religion, many times due to corruption, doesn't even help you find God. Religion is simply a man-made practice, that, if Catholics actually read their Bibles, they'd find Jesus came to separate us from because He became flesh- personable, and asked us to follow Him.
@@oreally8605 And I do, I pray for EVERYBODY. Just because I didn't mention that I do doesn't mean I am not praying for all lost, dear. I do because of Romans 3:23 and Romans 3:10. I wouldn't wish anyone into Hell. NO one.
Don had a smile when he said to Ray, “You’re not as bad as I thought you were.” It’s difficult to bite the hand of someone who shares love, acceptance and forgiveness.
I have heard it said that it’s harder to convert a catholic than an atheist. I am grateful to God that He was able to get through to me. I went from being a catholic to being born again. Praise God. We can pray for this guy. Pray that he can swallow his pride. I recognize this because it was me. 🙏🏻
@@marthadrake1652 - It's going too far to call Catholicism "s@t@nic." They have actual exorcists that help get rid of demons from people who are possessed. The devil wouldn't do that. The point is that Catholicism is a mixture. It's corrupted. I think it all goes back to them disobeying where Jesus said to not call ANYone on Earth your father because you have One Father who is in heaven.
I was raised by catholic parents in the catholic ways, but when I actually started reading the bible for MYSELF, I found A LOT of things that made me question the catholic religion. This verse was a clincher for me 1 Timothy 2:5 says: "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time..." With this I had to ask why should I confess my sins to a priest when I can go straight to the ONLY MEDIATOR between us and God. I also intentionally say priest, not "father" because Matt 23:9 says "9Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. I had a lot of questions when I tried to go through catechism, and they basically instructed me to shut up and color. Wrong answer... I walked away from the catholic church because they couldn't answer my legitimate questions to help me understand why their ways are contrary to the bible. I could go on and on with questions they couldn't answer, but there's no point here. Let me clarify that I don't hate Catholics, I actually pray for God to open their eyes to HIS truth. I am now a Non denominational Christian and believe only what the bible says, not religious dogma and rituals that man has added to the bible.

Pride is like spiritual AIDS. AIDS takes down the immune system, which is the mechanism of fighting infection. In other words, it targets the thing that would fight it.
This guy was itching for a fight, he went looking for one. Ray, you have the patience of Job, you handled him very well. Once I realize that someone isn't looking for truth but just to argue or fight, then I remove myself from that situation if possible. I would have walked away from this guy. I'm glad he found you instead of me.
He came to defend his faith. Being Catholic is like a nationality and the faith of our fathers, and you defend it like you would your homeland. I was raised Catholic in a very Catholic region of this world, had read the New Testament in my teens and had become an agnostic because of the obvious contradictions, but when people asked me what religion I was, I said "Catholic" and was proud of it. So he came to do battle to defend his faith and he found a "let us reason together" (Isaiah 1:18) Interestingly, agnosticism was far more acceptable than becoming born again and putting on Christ in baptism.
Rays not a debater. He's just a guy who shares the gospel with a UA-cam channel. It's actually really weird when debate channels call for a debate against people who arent even in the debate realm. It shows they arent looking for a good hearted argument, but for someone they can punch down on for views.
How, (I am speaking generally not aimed at Ray) I believe if someone is preaching falsehood/heresy they should be called out because they can lead people astray. Ray debated Matt Dillahunty not once but twice.
@Zangified02 it doesn't surprise me that Ray probably tried his hand at debating a handful of times. Still, the point stands, he's not a debater - not his channel, his ministry, or his attitude is focused towards that. If he was someone like David Wood or William L Craig, or Nabeel Qureshi (rip) then yeah totally, call for a debate. Really, all calling Ray Comfort to a debate does is prevent people from hearing the gospel... which is probably the underlying goal at play by the powers of the air.
Yes!! So well said Loved how Ray said he could use that time sharing the gospel 👏👏 He has such a heart for God, so beautiful to witness ❤ Glory be to God !!
I've interacted with Brian, the guy who 'owned' Ray. He misquoted Ray in the video. I've talked to him multiple times and when he can't answer your questions he just stops talking. He has the catholic answer down pat, not so much the other stuff.
Yeah, this poor dude is full of pride that comes from creating a god to his own liking. But with him being catholic, that will be a hard thing for him to admit seeing how their belief is full of idolatrous beliefs and practices. Amazing way you handled yourself Ray!
Ray Comfort should’ve showed catholic bro a copy of their catholic Ten Commandments and the original Ten Commandments and if y’all didn’t know this, the catholic changed up a little bit of their own version of the Ten Commandments and this is why the Catholics are lost when it comes to the glory of the Lvov g God.
@@chriszekableyat9886- as an ex-Catholic, I can confirm that the first part of your statement is true. The second is not, not even close. There are multiple reasons why many Catholics remain lost and so hard to reach, like this man. The root of their false doctrine is emphasizing church traditions and teachings over God's Infallible Word, the Bible. God's word says our works are as filthy rags to a holy God, that we must be born again, only Christ can fully absolve sins, that we must believe and have faith in Christ and him alone and we cannot earn our way to heaven should anyone boast, while the Catholic Church teaches numerous contradictions to the Bible: one must observe most of the 7 sacraments (Infant Baptism, Confession, Holy Communion, Confirmation, Matrimony, Holy Orders, Extreme Unction) to earn grace and if one earns enough grace, it wipes out venial sins; there are two types of sin: venial (forgivable) and mortal (unforgivable); priests can absolve sins of parishioners through confession and "penance"; the priest has the power to turn the bread and wine into Christ's flesh and blood and there are many more, including the Pope is Infallible and successor of Peter and cannonizing "saints." The Bible teaches none of this. Sadly, Catholics are told to this day that theirs is the only true church and by observing church traditions and teachings, they can earn enough grace to go to heaven and if they don't, they will go to Purgatory for light punishment but don't worry, someone can pay/pray you out through indulgences. If anyone claims that practice to be false... my Dad died in 1986. One of my work colleagues took up a collection to buy masses to pray for my Dad to lessen his time in Purgatory. No where in Scripture are we instructed to pray for the dead. These reasons and more are why it is so difficult to reach Catholics. Two of my siblings are still Catholic even though one knows the truth and the other isn't observant. My husband and I have Catholic friends. They were shocked to learn that they can just talk to God. They don't have to say prayers written by others. Nor did they know that all true Christ followers are called saints. The Catholic Church has no power to canonize saints. If you look up some of those saints, their activities are dubious. We must pray for Catholics just as we pray for all lost people.
I was born Catholic and was baptized as a baby. I left the church when I was 11 years old. 7 Years ago, when I was 55, I started to read the Bible. After 3 month's of reading the Bible I gave my life to Jesus. I didn't do that in a church, I did that at home. He changed my heart in one night. I got baptized 10 days later. I told my mother the other day and she reacted very disappointed. I did not expect that. Most Catholics are so much defending the Catholic church, they are so proud of that church. But in fact they are slaves. Catholics are still judging me that I am 'not good enough.' When I share my testimony and tell them about my old life and new life most of them still judge me for the mistakes I made in my old life. They just don't get it that God gave me a new heart and life. They are blinded and just to proud. Proud of the good deeds they do every day. My family just want to see 'the old me'. I can only pray and love them. God Bless from the Netherlands.
you are blinded, not the Catholic, not most of the Catholic are so much defending, you are making false statements, don’t be like Pharisees dudes bearing false statements against Jesus, mark 14:56-57, I am catholic myself, like you also was baptized 2 months old, and I am 55 years old turning 56 on February, your mother is 100% right, reacted and disappointed you, because your mother know’s you are making a huge mistake, surely, your mother knows that there is only one baptism, Ephesians 4:5-6, one lord, one faith, one baptism, one god and one father of all, and that’s right we are slave, like apostles Paul say’s though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
Praise God, sweet sister in Christ. You were translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Light, born of God by the Spirit from above, your name forever written in heaven. You accepted God's own righteousness in exchange for being justified for your "good works" which the Bible says are filthy rags of self righteousness and nothing compared to the perfect finished work of our precious JESUS on the cross!!! Praise God for making you a daughter of His forever held in the palm in His hand never to be plucked out by anyone. Intoxicated by His grace in the reality of His perfect love revealed. You have the Spirit of truth who leads you in to all Truth living in your heart now and He promises He will never leave nor forsake you. Love from Andrea in the Poconos in Pennsylvania, USA!

I was raised Catholic and did not take sin nor the Gospel seriously because my church membership and infant baptism were my "get out of jail free cards". I had never opened a Bible in the entire 24 years of my life. I did see the hypocrisy in my own life and in the lives of those around me in parochial school and with my family, but I mostly blew that off, too, blaming it on the human condition and an impossible standard (and that part I got right), but I did not understand the cross -- and 12 years of catechism and sermons at mass did not change that. It was only when I read the Bible for myself that my eyes were opened. I could not earn salvation. That and many other catholic teachings conflicted with clear Scripture. I just had a debate with my husband last night about the Catholic Church and he said Christians are always attacking Catholics because they say their doctrines aren’t biblical. I tried explaining but I’m now seeing ppl raised in the Catholic Church get very deceived and it makes me sad. We know however that God wants us to not only love Him (of course He is above everyone else) but also to love one another, to help one another, to spend time with family and friends. In all those loving relations God is highly present and the sole intent with His creation is communion between Him and all beings created by Him - but also between the created beings themselves. Given all this, it is quite reasonable that those who have left this world have been given the ability to live in an even deeper communion than the one we know. I, as a catholic, believe this communion stretches out to us in this world, where Mary, all known and unknown saints as well as angels and archangels all support us in different ways on our path to Christ.

Raised catholic. I used to have a deep mockery and hatred toward Christians. I remember going to my wife’s church and having an experience of deep grief and understanding for my sin and the free gift of God. Then my wife asked if I was baptized and I was deeply offended as I was catholic. 6 weeks later I was baptized and born again. But honestly I now see the error in my ways. Praise be to God. But as result my catholic family pushed me away, attacked me verbally and emotionally. But it was all worth it. Because what I gained was not comparable to what I lost.
That is unfortunately a common fruit I see. The culture in Catholicism straight up mocks Christianity and Protestantism. I think you can find little bits of the reverse, Protestants mocking Catholics, but if you look at Catholic videos you will see so much mockery in the comments. I also grew up in the RCC, glad to hear you found Christ for real. Thanks for sharing.
Praise God. But, please realize that most regular Protestant Churches aren't "in the truth" either. They teach license to sin with OSAS doctrine and still hold to the idea of Original Sin just like Catholics. The truth is simply what is written in scripture. That is that we neither work for salvation nor have all sins paid for past, present and future at the moment of conversion. The truth is that a sacrifice for sin ONCE for all was provided but we must ABIDE in Christ (keep commandments - the law of Christ/Law of Liberty/Royal Law/Law of Love). If we don't do what Jesus says then we will die spiritually and the Father will cut us off the vine of Christ. God is merciful and forgives and gives us all that we need for life in godliness but we must persevere in the faith as well...but not the silly works that Catholics do...but rather the good works such as simply loving neighbor as yourself. Grace and Peace be with you in abundance in Christ

It's actually the " original sin " ; it's what caused Lucifer's fall = Pride. Isaiah 14:12-14 shows Lucifer's 5 prideful "I will" boasts. The rest of the verse is GOD's response of Judgement. Sadly, this same fatal sin of " Pride " is so endemic within the Roman system, that it blinds their followers into a false sense of ignorant superiority. Loved watching this interaction as a Catholic. Also love watching your videos, it's awesome to see people spreading the Good News with the world. Anybody who has read the Catechism of the Catholic Church knows that you're saved through Christ alone (CCC 1987) and that the works are done in Christ after Salvation (through the Holy Spirit), to live as much like Christ as possible and grow in Him during our time here on earth. The Church should definitely put more emphasis on it so that the whole Christian world knows what the Catholic Church truly says and believes; sadly some Catholics don't even know this themselves. I hope that all Christians will one day be more accepting of their brothers and sisters in Christ from other denominations. Let's face it, there are good and bad people in every church and denomination (incl. leaders) but that shouldn't define the others. Only God knows your heart. He knows who's a true Christian and who isn't. God bless ❤✝
@EcclesTwelve13-14 thank you for sharing your story. Glad to hear that you found your way back to the Church by actually learning about the Church and its history. I myself grew up Dutch Reformed in the Dutch Bible Belt, which is known to be predominantly Calvinist. Catholicism has brought me closer to the Lord and has helped me tremendously in my day-to-day Christian life. Like you said yourself, Sola Scriptura makes everybody their own Pope (oftentimes resulting into people taking scripture out of context, sometimes to their own advantage) and just the whole Sola thing in general makes people turn Christianity into their own thing to basically put themselves first. I'm not saying that that's what all Protestants do but it's something you do see a lot, especially outside of mainline Protestantism (some even heretical or leaning towards it). You oftentimes see people leave Catholicism, Orthodoxy and maybe even mainline Protestantism because they want things their way/are rebellious (e.g. music, the 'come as you are' mentality (strong emphasis on Sola's) & having the feeling of being the one who's in control), were lukewarm/lazy or just simply not properly educated. In my case, deciding to become Catholic definitely wasn't an easy decision I made overnight or something that seemed obvious or even likely years ago; considering my background, the prejudices I once had and me rebelling against traditions and everything else that seemed "old & stupid" to me. That's why I wholeheartedly believe that God led me here. ✝🙏🏽❤
As a Protestant, I'm saddened by how misrepresented Catholicism is in our circles. I grew up evangelical and had many anti-Catholic biases, but after studying Catholicism, I have come to realize Catholics are Christians and believe many of the same things we do.
@@brendonpremkumar8207 so glad to hear that you did some actual research. Now I'm 22 y/o and Catholic
@@semvandervegte Wow, what an interesting path! The Lord really does work in mysterious ways. I converted to Lutheranism recently from evangelicalism and I'm just 17 years old.
@@brendonpremkumar8207 Yes, He really does. If it was up to me I'd probably have kept going to evangelical churches. My older brother fully switched from Dutch Reformed to evangelical. My younger brother (19 y/o) isn't as active with his faith yet but goes to evangelical churches whenever he goes to church, though his non-religious gf is becoming more interested in Christianity, which in turn makes him more interested. My parents still go to the Dutch Reformed Church but also regularly go to an evangelical church and are now thinking about switching themselves, like my older brother did. So yeah, it was really difficult for me to accept the fact that the Holy Spirit led me towards Catholicism (which I wholeheartedly feel and believe) because I'm now the only person in my entire family who's not Protestant but Catholic. Luckily my family is very accepting of me being Catholic and I'm glad that I eventually found the courage to contact my parish, start RCIA and to now be Catholic.
When I saw how Ray handled this I thought of Proverbs 15:1 “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Ray may not have convinced him that his doctrine was wrong, but he certainly demonstrated that his assumptions about who Ray is were wrong, and that is one barrier broken down for him to become born again. Thank you Ray for being a great example and inspiration to me. God bless you and your “Parrish” 😅

Question: I heard a radio preacher talk about the "biblical plan of salvation"--which, of course, he said the Catholic Church didn't obey.
@getrit3007 To be born again implies a radical change in a person, an event as life-altering as the “first birth” out of your mother’s womb. When you are born again, the Holy Spirit makes a change in your soul, cleanses you from sin, and gives you a new nature, planting supernatural love in your heart. Just as you were once born into an earthly family, when you are born again you become part of a spiritual family, with God as the head and all his people, on earth and in heaven, as your brothers and sisters. Jesus told Nicodemus, “No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit” (Jn 3:5). Paul spoke of God’s gift of “the bath of rebirth and renewal of the Holy Spirit” (Ti 3:5). Paul told the Romans that “we who were baptize into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death . . . so that . . . we too might live in the newness of life” (Rom 6:3-4). Water baptism is the physical sign of and instrument for bringing about the spiritual rebirth. In baptism we are regenerated into new life in Christ.

Since then, boy have I really galvanized my beliefs, and I'm thankful that I left.
Catholicism is the community of the Faithful. It faithfully preserved the Holy Bible. True religion didn't start 500 years ago but 2000 years ago. The Church teaches the Bible to be without error. If you found a perceived contradiction, it's your perception that erred, not the Church of Christ.

NAVUSMCVET... I have to ask you something. You have found out the truths of the Catholic teachings and have turned away from it. Have you turned to God, asking Jesus to be your Savior? Have you been born again, according to the scriptures?
Nope... that man just wanna argue with this Ray comfort nonsense cause ray comfort is speaking lies or more like ignorance. Don we love you, the gospel is the best and only important message to spread. I love that you took the time to talk so patiently with Ray. God bless you❤❤
God bless you Ray! It's hard to find somebody that's either compromisingly ecumenical, OR haughty and arrogant. My wife and I are former catholics who so much appreciate you taking a stand with kindness and grace!

Praying for the work Ray Comfort does seemingly effortlessly. God has given him a gift for talking to anybody and everybody. He is so kind when sharing the Gospel.
I was raised in a strict Catholic family, catechism on Wednesdays, Church every sunday, Catholic school 5 days a week. My mom has the cathechism book. I believed the lies they mixed with truth. I wore the badge of pride thinking only Catholics go to heaven because all other religions are full of heathens. I am so very grateful for Christ reaching out to me, taking me by the hand and revealing himself to me leading me away from the Catholic church and saving my soul by the shed blood on the cross. I pray this guy along with other unsaved people are humbled and actually studies the bible with the leading of the Holy Spirit sees what Christ did on the cross so their pride doesn't cause them to fall into hell.
Dear Catherine, are you aware that the Catechism even teaches that Muslims can go to heaven? If you wanna slander the Roman church, try the truth next time, for it can be more convincing.
@@coolcatbaron2509 You catchism even says we can become gods like mormons do ! So to be a good catholic you must believe whatever your "true" church says.
I grew up in a Catholic church. Never learned a darn thing about the Bible. Never was taught a Bible story just taught the Church's rules. Moved to Texas in my twenties, started going to a Baptist church. There I learned more in a year than I had in 20 years of being a Catholic. Although I never wanted to move away from the north I am sure glad I did. If I had not moved I wouldn't now be a born again Christian. Thank you God for relocating me.
in my own opinion, I desire not to learn, because if you learn, you be will like Adam and Eve, genesis 3:4-5, genesis 3;7, and I stick to the church where I was baptized, like Jesus said to st.Peter, in Matthew 18:17-18, and in Luke 10:16, whoever listens to you listen to me, whoever rejects you rejects me, but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me, and like apostle Paul say’s, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. Ephesians 1:23.
@@alejandroumaslay3657You desire not to learn God's word? For what reason do you think God gave us His word? "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children." (Hosea 4:6)
@@Charlllot Hosea 4:6 is not applied with me, it applies only to those people who are leaving the church that founded by Christ through his apostles, you know what church is that, right? now, I’m not really knowledgeable person because I desire not to, but here’s what I can say about salvation, and for where I am standing, as the Bible says, I am already saved ( Romans 8:4, Ephesians 2:5-8 ) but I am also being saved ( 1 Corinthians 1:18, 2 Corinthians 2:15, Philippians 2:12 ) and I have the hope that I will be saved ( Romans 5:9-10,1 Corinthians 3:12-15 ) like the apostles Paul I am working out my salvation with fear and trembling ( Philippians 2:12 ) with the hopeful confidence in promises ( Romans 5:2, 2 Timothy 2:11-13 )
@@kristenb5177 before I will answer to that question, let me first share this with you is to where the Catholic stands for, now it’s all up to you or anybody to challenge it, Catholic and Protestant agreed that to be saved, you have to be born again, Jesus said so, “truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of god” ( John 3:3 ) when a the Catholic says that he has been “born again,” he refers to the transformation that God’s grace accomplished in him during baptism, evangelical Protestant typically something quite different when they talk about being “born again,” for an evangelical, becoming “born again” often happens like this, he goes to crusade or revival where a minister delivers a sermon telling him of his need to be “born again” if you believe in the lord Jesus Christ and believe he died for you sins, you’ll be born again !” says the preacher, so the gentleman makes “a decision for Christ” and at the altar call goes forward to be led in “the sinners prayer” by the minister, then the minister tells all who prayed the sinner’s prayer that they have been saved-“born again,” but is the minister right? not according to the Bible, regeneration (being “born again”) is the transformation from death to life that occurs in our souls when we first come to god and are justified, he washes us clean of our sins and gives us a new nature, breaking the power of sin over us so that we will no longer be its slave, but its enemies, who must fight it as part of the Christian life ( rom.6:1-22, Eph.6:11-17 ), to understand the biblical teaching of being born again, we must understand the terms it uses to refer to this event, the term “born again” may not appear in the Bible, the Greek phrase often translated “born again” ( gennatha anothen ) occurs twice in the Bible-John 3:3,and 3:7-and there is question of how it should be translated, the Greek word anothen sometimes can be translated “again,” but in the New Testament, it most often means “from above,” in the King James Version, the only two times it is translated “again” are in John 3:3 and 3:7, every other time it is given a different rendering, another term is “regeneration,” when referring to something that occurs in the life of an individual believer, it only appears in Titus 3:5, in other passages, the new birth phenomenon is also described as receiving new life ( rom.6:4 ), the circumcision of the heart ( rom.2:29, Col.2:11-12 ), and becoming a “new creation”( 2 cor.5:17, gal.6:15 ), these different ways talking about being “born again” describe effects of baptism, which Christ speaks of in John 3:5 as being “born of water and the spirit,” in Greek, this phrase is, literally, “born of water and spirit” rather than “born of water and of the spirit,” as though it meant two different births-one birth of water and one birth of the spirit, in the water-and-spirit rebirth that takes place at baptism, the repentant sinner is transformed from a state of sin to the state of grace, Peter mentioned this transformation from sin to grace when he exhorted people to “be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” ( Acts.2:38 ), the context of Jesus’ statements in John 3 makes it clear that he has referring to water baptism, shortly before Jesus teaches nicodemus about the necessity and regenerating effect of baptism, he himself was baptized by John the Baptist, and the circumstances are striking, Jesus goes down into the water, and as he baptized, the heavens open, the Holy Spirit descends upon him in the form of a dove, and the voice of god The father speaks from heaven, saying, “this is my beloved son” ( Matt.3:13-17, mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22, John 1:30-34 ), this scene gives us graphic depiction of what happens at baptism, we are baptized with water, symbolizing our dying with Christ ( rom.6:3) and our rising with Christ to the newness of life ( rom.6:4-6), we receive the gift of sanctifying grace and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit ( 1 cor.12:13, gal.3:27 ), and we are adopted as God’s sons ( rom.8:15-17), after our lord’s teaching that it is necessary for salvation to be born from above by water and spirit ( John 3:1-21), Jesus and his disciples went into the land of judea, there he remained with them and baptized “( John 3:22 ). then we the witness of the early church that John 3:5 refers to baptismal regeneration, this was universally recognized by the early Christians, the church fathers were unanimous in teaching this.
Growing up in catholic church and catholic school did nothing but push me away from Jesus because of all the contradictions I saw between the bible and the catholic teaching. Thankfully God opened my eyes to the truth and I became a born again believer.
Going to Catholic school actually let me see the Holy Spirit and after my confusion the way was clear. I'm born again because GOD was with me steering me and correcting me all along. GOD chastises those whom he loves.
Not only the so many contradictions but the absence of the Holy Spirit within that institutional church. He saw me searching for the truth, asking Him, too. He led me to a Spirit filled overflowing Church. Moving along in life, I realized there are many denominational protestant Churches out there that have NO clue who is the Holy Spirit, his functions, gifts, etc. They say 90% of Churches have no clue. So sad. At least some stand solid in their Salvation on Jesus Christ alone.
really dudes? or maybe because of your attitude, maybe you talking about burn again not born again, because born again refers to baptized for the remission of sin, Jesus said, no one can enter the kingdom of god unless they are born of water and spirit, Peter even said that also in acts.2:38, and Jesus himself said that, which is stated above, there more if you want, Matthew 28:19, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, mark 16:16, whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.
I was born & raised an RC. I once told a friend that if there was anything important in the Bible for me to know the priests and nuns were sure to tell me. I never cracked open a Bible for myself until I was 17yo. That just blew my mind! I’ve read it cover to cover a few times since then. Now I’m a Recovering Catholic, fully immersed baptized, non-dom worshipper.
So because someone in the 1950 told you not to read the Bible you just sat an looked at the Bible at your house, and never touched it how sad , now if your folks said not to read that’s silly, scripture is read at every Mass and my church has bible study the great adventure by Jeff Cavins I read the Bible with the catechism they butifully go together
@annb9029 because they only read what's relevant to the church and they have a habit of taking things out of context. Instead of trying to defend the church why don't you read the Bible front to back. Not piece by piece

Used to think like that too. I used to think my Christian friends were secret haters, not until I read the Bible and I knew they were secretly praying for me. -ex Catholic
Question: I heard a radio preacher talk about the "biblical plan of salvation"--which, of course, he said the Catholic Church didn't obey.
Catholics are Christians the first ones The Bible directly links baptism to salvation: Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” John 3:5 “Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.’” (cf.
I know, it's so sad that they are convinced that I hate them just because I stand by the bible. They always make it a sectarian issue when it's really just about the word of God and loving him. It's like strongholds have to be deconstructed out of their mind with the truth. I can only be done with the Holy Spirit and the word if they are willing. Just keep praying for eyes to be opened❤
Sounds exactly like the people that Jesus was dealing with. The Sadducees and Pharisees that wanted him dead. They didn't want to accept the truth and they didn't want to repent and they did not want to lose their CONTROL

Yes, it's repent, not repent of sins. That's the one thing that Ray misses unfortunately. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to repent of sins. And repent means to change your mind in a Godly context. Even God repents in Jonah 3:10. God can't repent of sin.@getrit3007

My parents were shamed into sending me for Catholic catechism instruction. We were in public school and went twice a week to the church. My Dad was a lapsed Catholic and my mother wasn't anything. So, nervously, I went to catechism class after school. A small class, all at about the same age, eleven. I received a little prayer book but can't remember anything we talked about. Went home, threw the book on the desk and went about my business of playing. Two days later I went back for the second class. Shortly after we started the nun teacher had me stand and asked me to say a "Hail Mary." Having no idea what she was talking about I said so. Just like that, in a flash I got smacked hard across the face and nastily scolded. I was shocked. I cried and sat down. Later as we broke up, the nun used that experience to remind everyone to come prepared the next time. When I left that day, coming back to that class was the last thing I intended to do. I said nothing to anyone. The following week I left for class but instead went and hid in the large garbage area of the local A&P. I did this for about two weeks when my mother decided to send my younger brother with me to class. Stupidly, I went to hide as usual and my brother became alarmed and scared. He didn't understand what was happening. He started crying because I wanted him to go to the class without me. Finally, I just sent him home with his tear smeared face. With childish reasoning I stayed in the dump until the time was up and then went home to face the music. Of course my mother was waiting for me to explain what's going on. I told her the story above. Fearing retribution, I was thrilled when my mother pitied me, told me to forget that class. I no longer was compelled to go. I was one very relived, happy 11 year old. For years afterward, when I saw a nun's habit I would become terrified. I went to the other side of the street and/or hid behind a parked car whenever those doubled-up nuns would walk down the street. I was certain they would "get me!" At age 21 I humbled myself and opened my heart to Jesus. I was transformed in a split second and knew it although I realize not everyone has this kind of new birth conversion. My wife, interestingly enough, went twelve grades through parochial school, taught by nuns who regarded the Bible as a book of stories. She said they never used the Bible in school, even in "religion" class. She related to me while we dated that she was an atheist because when the nuns dissed the Bible to her in high school she was so confused it seemed the only path that then made sense. The first time she heard the gospel was from me at age 27. One evening, on a trip, I sat down with her to talk about the Lord because I saw only trouble marrying her w/o her being a Christian. I told her I needed to talk to her about another relationship in my life...and I told her about Jesus being my Savior. She was so ready that I had to slow everything down, and confirm that she understood. That she wasn't responding just out of love for me. She accepted Jesus into her heart that night. We've been very happily married 43 years. We talk of the experiences above often, thanking our Lord for his gracious guidance and care. Many other little stories were involved that equally give glory to a loving God who wants the best for us in this life, as well as all eternity, with His Son. That life we're still experiencing far above what we are able to grasp. Even so come, Lord Jesus.
Ray's caring heart always brings people off their rant and anger. I am glad I found Ray and living waters. Ray, Mark, E.Z. and Oscar has taught me so much of the bible and God. I used to not care where people went after death. Ray opened my eyes to how horrible and evil that thought process was. Now, my heart breaks for people who don't believe. Thank you to everyone who works at living waters for wisdom, education, sharing God's word, and true compassion.

@@cfG21 Please stop twisting the verse. That is not talking about water baptism. Jesus claimed to be the living water. You are born again by believing in Jesus Christ (John 3:16) I agree that a christian should be baptized but its not for salvation at all. You need to correctly divide the word of truth and not just quote mine the Bible.
“And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to him'” (Acts 2:38-39).
@@annb9029 That verse is not talking about water baptism either. because the Bible says to water baptize people in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The baptism that Peter refers to is repenting and believing in Jesus Christ and being saved.

Well spoken Ray Incredible how often salvation by works - that is the law - creeps its way back into our understanding of the Gospel. Thanks for clearing up the mess. Lord bless you

Blessec be to all, in Revelation 13:1, the beast with 7 heads and 10 horns coming up out of the waters, multi-headed means political, singular is religious (being the anti-christ which is Satan). 7 dominions throughout the earth, 10 kings/world leaders, the waters are the people expecting to be raptured out of here in famous fly away doctrine, for it will be as in the days of Noah that Yeshua mentions in Matthew 24 (with there being many other references throughout the old and new testament concerning the end times, as Daniel is a overlap of Revelation, and Ezekiel speaks more on the end times then any other book in the Bible other then that great book Revelation, the unveiling/uncovering as for the entomology of the word itself), those who are taken abide under God's wrath. The false/spurious messiah comes 1st in Rev. 12 on this earth for a 5 month period, Satan and the fallen angels will be cast to earth (for the angels are coming back to seduce the daughters of men as they did in Genesis 6), he is the son of perdition (perdition means to be put to death, for he has already been judged). The harlot, the woman spoken of is that great city Babylon, babel=confusion (Satan is the author of confusion), God said "to come out of her" in Rev. 18:4 I believe, as well as He did Abraham. It's not until the son of perdition, after the 2nd woe, on the 7th trumpet is when Jesus returns, the Lord's Day (that 1000yr period in 2nd Peter 3:8, the day John was taken to in the spirit, even past where were at now), when Jesus returns the dead will rise in Christ mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (where most people cling to the Rapture Theory), and we will all (meaning everyone to have ever lived who has went before us and who remain), will be in the spirit. Yeshua Messiah will reign here in the new Heaven in the earth, then at the end of that period Satan will be let loosed a little while because God is fair and everyone will have a chance (not meaning a do what you want now and make up for it then, pertaining to those who have been unable to hear the good news of our Lord and Savior and will be tested by Satan as even Jesus was to set the example on how we combat our enemy), and they will be tested by him and some will still even then choose to follow/worship Satan, then comes the Great White Throne Judgement prior to the eternity. God is that consuming fire, you don't burn and are tortured in Hell forever and ever, your name is blotted out which is the eternal punishment, no longer existing, period, all souls return to whenst they came, for Jesus Himself would say depart from Me i never knew ye. The mark of beast in the forehead are those without the seal of God in their foreheads (meaning the truth), the mark on their hand are those doing the work of the beast, not a tattoo of 666 or a computer chip implanted. The 1st beast received a deadly wound on 1 of it's heads, a disagreement or falling out (as we even experience today), via the supernatural entity being Satan when he is cast out of Heaven entirely will come to solve the problem (world peace), no nations to wage war against 1 another we/they will all be as 1, a 1 world rule, under Satan (in the beast system). The religious beast who was out of the earth (dust/physically you could say, not flesh for is a cherubim as serveral are mentioned throughtout scripture), and cast to the earth, the anti-christ isn't a man, it's Satan (looks like a lamb, spake like a dragon). He exercises all the powers of the 1st beast (to take advantage, coming to make peace), and when the dragon healed the wound of the 1st beast, and all worshipped it (trampling like cattle, moths to a flame). Many churches will become the harlot and whore after her, and oh how so difficult it will be to speak/preach against peace/ the wound was by the sword and it is truth, for they/ the world will hate you/us for standing on God's Word till the end. Satan uses men just as God does and counterfeits all God does, some of the churches will do the work for him as they are openingly displaying now the Satanic infestation that is spreading like a contagion of death, they'll think your preaching against Jesus, our Messiah to come, for Babylon today is being revived to its fullest making the way and craving the path in blood for the false to come, so many will be deceived that you personally hold so near and dear to your heart. Amen.

Never going to be a lukewarm Christian again. It’s nice to keep a healthy respectful fear of God, and not imagine him into some cuddly figure of our imagination. Trying to be the best version of myself and a doer of the word while teaching my family about the truth. I’m still an addict but now I’m addicted to the word of God and Jesus Christ. Doing the right thing to be righteous, and earn my rewards in Heaven and not here on this Earth. I’ve had everything I could want and more and I wasn’t happy or at peace. It wasn’t until I was betrayed my people close to me and a little self hatred for the man feeling like I had nothing that I finally understood I needed nothing but the Grace of God. Would love to talk to you sometime, Ray.

As a Catholic myself, this man does not speak for us. We as children of God need to stop fighting against each other and start battling our common enemy. ❤ peace be with you.
As a fellow Catholic, I agree. I always see Protestant, Orthodox & Catholic Christians fighting each other under Christian related posts or videos, while instead we should unite to fight against the evil one by sharing the Gospel with the world. We might all worship God in different ways and have disagreements & misunderstandings here and there but that shouldn't take away that at the core we're all brothers and sisters in Christ. 🙌🏽 God bless ✝❤
@@semvandervegte It is the Catholic Org that has 1000 years of blood on its hands and false doctrines they won't let go of. It is a common tactic of Catholics to be ecumenical. Most Catholics are not my brothers/sisters in the Lord because they aren't "in" the Lord. They sin everyday. This rebuke goes for OSAS adherents as well. No one who sins everyday is "saved." That is the defining factor about them as a person. It is how we know saints from the children of the Devil.
Let's give Scotty his due...this must have been a juggernaut to edit! Great job Scotty may the Lord bless you and all your efforts. We appreciate your hard work.
The Bible says when the Holy Spirit comes to us "He will speak of Me(Jesus)" not a priest or father or Mary or a saint. "Me" Jesus plus nothing equals everything. Not just in lip service but in actions.
@getrit3007God will show you what he wants to show you if he wants to lead you to another church you can take communion there with God it's not evil to be there there is holy born again people there also but to grow you might want to keep looking for a church where you can study more
@getrit3007 What does it matter what we think? What matters is what is true...like this verse... 1John 3:5 And you know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. 1John 3:6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.
@getrit3007 One of the best parables that explains the mechanism of salvation is the parable of the 10,000 talents. In that parable, the wicked servant is forgiven just based upon his begging to the King for more time to pay. The goes above and beyond the request offering both grace and mercy (they are not the same) and forgives the servant 10,000 talents (a HUGE sum impossible to pay back). What happens next is key...the King expected the servant to forgive his fellow neighbor in the same manner that he himself had been forgiven. Now, the 1st servant didn't "earn" that forgiveness. It was granted to him apart from anything he had done except for crying out to the king for mercy. But, the forgiveness was TAKEN AWAY when the wicked servant didn't use the grace (which represents resources) granted him. So, salvation, in the same way isn't "earned" but yet can still be lost because there ARE conditions. The condition found EVERYWHERE in scripture is repentance. We must ABIDE in Christ and we abide in Christ by keeping His commandments (John 15:1-10). So, keeping commandments doesn't "earn" salvation when we owe 10,000 lifetimes worth of sin debt. But, it is a conditional by which God decides to forgive our sins...or not. The atonement doctrine is being twisted in our post modern so called Churches.
@getrit3007 Concerning your question, prostitutes (present tense) do not enter into the kingdom of God...unless you think scripture contradicts itself... You cited: Matt 21:31 “Which of the two did the will of his father?” They *said, “The latter.” Jesus *said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax-gatherers and harlots will get into the kingdom of God before you. Matt 21:32 “For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him; but the tax-gatherers and harlots did believe him; and you, seeing this, did not even feel remorse afterward so as to believe him. It is also written: 1Cor 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 1Cor 6:10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God. Also see: Gal 5:19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, Gal 5:21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Gal 5:24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. So, are prostitutes (present tense) going to inherit the kingdom? OR... Are former prostitutes who have "crucified the flesh with its passions and desires" going to enter the kingdom? Seems pretty clear to me.
John 3:5 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit - words of Jesus Christ Water and Spirit = baptism. If you deny baptism to be born agaon then you deny Jesus Christ. Catholics are right that ray teaches a false gospel
Confession is one of the worst things which happen in Catholic Church. I was Catholic for so many years I sinned as much I liked and before main feasts like Christmas I confessed my sins to the priest and I knew I would go to heaven. Although I said I would stop sinning I knew the next day I will do the same. While being at confession the priest usually said "come to confession in 3 weeks". He also knew I was telling lies to him, go God and to myself.
Scripture says confess your sins one to another...no mention of a priest needed, nor money. Also in another part of New Testament it says don't call anyone "Father" because we have one Heavenly Father.
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. (Hebrews 10:26-31)
@@KiKiChamp123 "And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease." It doesn't says anything about forfiving sins.
Loved Ray’s comeback on why Ray won’t debate the Catholic You tuber, “It’s like debating someone who thinks the sun is made of ice”. That was Classic 👍👍👍👍
Agreed. Sometimes it’s better not to take time to debate someone. Could be distracting. Ray is doing what he is supposed to be doing, specifically what Jesus calls us to do. Share the gospel. He doesn’t call us to go out and debate every person who doesn’t agree with the Bible but he did call us to be ready to defend our faith which he does. Defending vs attacking with knowledge is an important distinction I think.
Hardened heart. If you want to spread falsehoods about the Church, at least be so gracious to listen to 10 minutes of a serious Catholic apologist before doing so. You will do all of us a favor -- most of all yourself.

@user-qi6kc8ey7u Thank you for your compassion. What makes it worse is that my father has a year or less to live with AML(leukemia) and continues to seemingly pray, but I know it is to a false God. The fruits are evident. Any attempts to witness cause arguments. As his primary caregiver, it's a constant struggle for me. Thanks again for your love.
@@TerryN-ps3eh So sorry to hear that. Perhaps instead of witnessing, just read and study the Bible with him. If he's not open to you witnessing to him, let the Bible witness to him. He may then ask you questions sometimes. If he does, answer them by turning to another Bible passage to show him the answer. Let him read the passage and ask him what it means. Of course sometimes his Catholic dogma will get in the way. But then you just need to bring him back to the scriptures again. That way it's the Bible witnessing to him and he can't argue against that.
@Kojow7 Thank you for your sound advice. I got him a Bible before, but he doesn't read it. He'll watch his Mass on TV and be practically in tears as he prays and follows along. He has that, yet 20 minutes after, he'll be using Jesus' name in blasphemy or exhibiting other "non-fruit" bearing characteristics. I've asked how he could use God's holy name in vain, and it just results in arguments. When we go for his cancer treatments, I play soulful Christian music, and it glazes over him. I gave him a National Geographic magazine on Jesus for Christmas, so I'm hopeful that he can be sparked by that. I will try and read the Word to him though, thanks for that advice.

9:17-18; 1 Corinthians 12:13: both associate the Holy Spirit with baptism)
Acts 22:16 “And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.” (cf. 9:17-18)
Romans 6:3-4 “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
1 Corinthians 6:11 “And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”
Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of deeds done by us in righteousness, but in virtue of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit…”
1 Peter 3:21 “Baptism … now saves you …”
In Acts 2:38-41 alone we learn that baptism brings: (1) “forgiveness of sins;” (2) the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which no unregenerate person could possess; (3) salvation (“save yourselves”); and (4) inclusion in the rank of saved “souls” (cf. Galatians 3:27).
Romans 6:3-4 incorporates the blood and redeeming death of Jesus into baptism by referring to his “death.” So also does the larger passage of 1 Peter 3:14-22; 4:1.

Former Catholic Altar Boy here... I noticed the evil crookedness of the Catholic church immediately at age 11.

We’re in the Bible is bible alone
Question:
I heard a radio preacher talk about the "biblical plan of salvation"--which, of course, he said the Catholic Church didn't obey. How does our Church understand the biblical plan of salvation?
Answer:
The Church understands that we are all sinners in need of a savior (Rom 5:12-21).

I had no idea Jesus says "you MUST be born again" in John 3.
And I had no idea that a child of God is defined in John 1:12-13 as someone "BORN OF GOD" i.e born anew (Matthew 18:3 is related too).

Satan's pride rules that guy.. Pray for him.
NO one.

This verse was a clincher for me
1 Timothy 2:5 says:
"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time..."
With this I had to ask why should I confess my sins to a priest when I can go straight to the ONLY MEDIATOR between us and God.

So he came to do battle to defend his faith and he found a "let us reason together" (Isaiah 1:18)
Interestingly, agnosticism was far more acceptable than becoming born again and putting on Christ in baptism.
Agree 💯 I too would have walked away praise God for your love for people
Roman 10:15
"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things "
Yes!! So well said
Loved how Ray said he could use that time sharing the gospel 👏👏
He has such a heart for God, so beautiful to witness ❤ Glory be to God !!
Matt is a terrible debater. He is too emotional and he can't agree to basic terms. He constantly moves the goalposts and retreats when proven wrong.

Praise God, sweet sister in Christ. You were translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Light, born of God by the Spirit from above, your name forever written in heaven.

Question:
I heard a radio preacher talk about the "biblical plan of salvation"--which, of course, he said the Catholic Church didn't obey. How does our Church understand the biblical plan of salvation?
Answer:
The Church understands that we are all sinners in need of a savior (Rom 5:12-21).
May God bless you!
The tradition of the Catholic Church brought you the word of god.

Former Evangelical here. St.John :: Christ breathed the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and gave them the authority to forgive sin or to not forgive sin. This authority is passed to each successive generation of priests. You people's pastors cannot forgive sin because that authority has not been given to your pastors. It has always been so in All Christian history. You Latter Day spin-offs did not exist anywhere in Christian history untill a few 1,500 years later. Now, there are 4,000+ spin-off squabbling denominations of you heretics. Your Latter Day spin- offs are IMPLYING that Christ and the Apostles FAILED to establish their Church, but you latter day spin- offs fixed for them !!!! Sacrelige!!!!!

The p ( rho ) was pronounced with a "" r " sound. Thus their symbol was CHR for Chr ist. Constantine's army defeated their Pagan enemy and saved Christianity.

Jesus was angry. Stephen was killed for rebuking the establishment. John the Baptist was killed for rebuking authority.
The real followers of Christ hurt people's feelings because they tell them to repent and they aren't necessarily nice. The apostles, prophets and Jesus Himself were are persecuted and martyred because they preached a convicting message and weren't necessarily nice.

@@alejandroumaslay3657 do you know what two Churches God is pleased with ? He tells us in the book of Revelation
What contradicts the Bible in Catholicism?
really dudes? or maybe because of your attitude, maybe you talking about burn again not born again, because born again refers to baptized for the remission of sin, Jesus said, no one can enter the kingdom of god unless they are born of water and spirit, Peter even said that also in acts.2:38, and Jesus himself said that, which is stated above, there more if you want, Matthew 28:19, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, mark 16:16, whoever believes and is baptized will be saved.

Question:
I heard a radio preacher talk about the "biblical plan of salvation"--which, of course, he said the Catholic Church didn't obey. How does our Church understand the biblical plan of salvation?
Answer:
The Church understands that we are all sinners in need of a savior (Rom 5:12-21).
Catholics are Christians the first ones The Bible directly links baptism to salvation:
Mark 16:16 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
John 3:5 “Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, unless a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.’” (cf. 3:3: “unless a man is born again …”)
Acts 2:38-41 “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

I was raised catholic here in the Philippines, I used to confront people not liking my religion, we followed traditions of men that were not biblical. Until I met Jesus and truly accept Him as my Lord and Savior. I was so ashamed to see how sinful I was, venerating saints and bowing to lifeless statues! Thank you Jesus for saving me and my family. We dont have religion we now have relationship to God and living according to His Words! He changed our lives! No longer blind, deaf and dead! He has given us His spirit to do all these things! We have been born again and living entirely for His glory..

It's clear na di ka nag research nang mabuti at di mo talaga naintindihan ang paging Catholic mo dati. This testimony of yours is not a shocker. While it is sad to see people leaving the Church at totoo na kulang sa katekismo Ang mga katolikong Pilipino but all of us have the responsibility to dig deeper in our faith. If you had doubts and questions about your catholic Faith before, sana lumapit ka sa mga nakaka-alam like priests, nuns, cfds, catechists and etc. Hindi Yung pastor sa ibang religion ka kaagad lumapit, wherein most of them didn't even study theology and has little knowledge of history. Internet is also accessible these days Basta sa legit and tamang sources ka magbabasa. It's sad to see na you're one of the filipinos out there that has left the faith but it's not too late to come back. Not too late to seek again.
(Philippines wouldn't even be called a Christian country if it weren't for the Spaniards who colonized us. While colonization did had bad sides pero dahil sa mga mananakop na ito, nakilala natin si Hesus, Spaniards brought Catholicism which is Christianity here in the Philippines if it weren't for them din siguro your/our brought up would either be pagan or Muslim.)
@shannyyymae There is no salvation in any church. There is only salvation in Jesus Christ.
John 10:27-29
My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me.
And I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my Father's hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
@@shannyyymae i never went to a pastor.. i was trying to kill myself, thinking of the ways. There in my room, it was empty, sad, and no one can help me not even my family or priests or nuns or anyone from religion. I was crying out to God for help... That's when I knew, I only need God, I surrendered to Jesus and started my journey with Him. How will I know what He wanted me to do? - through His words.. the Bible. I started listening to Him through His Spirit... I was washed by the blood of Christ and followed Him, A pastor never came to me. I focused on Jesus Christ alone. This is how I found out that I do not need religion to come to Him, i need to repent, i need to surrender and accept hIm as my only Lord and Savior.
I hope you will also know Him without the teachings of any religion, without the man-made dos and dont's but to focus and follow only what He says in His Words. My allegiance is not for previous religion but my allegiance is only to God the, God of Moses, Isaac and Jacob and Jesus Christ is my ONLY way to Him. Nothing else, no one else.
And now I am free from all my addictions, anger, suicidal thoughts, trauma and others. I am nothing without Him, I deserved death, who am I to ask much from Him... I am a sinner, the worst of all! But by His Grace alone I was saved! Not because of my good works, not because of my church attendance or religious affiliations, but By Him.. received thru faith! I have a lot to share, this is not a debate of religions, this is a testimony of How God can transform people's lives! His love and mercy.. and it is Open to everyone who seeks him wholeheartedly.
I understand, you dont know me..just to give you a picture, I was abused, unloved, and traumatized by those people who served the Catholic church growing up...
I have a relative, she is a nun. Why I did not ask for her help, because she made me felt that she did not like me. Our relationship was not a good one to begin with, only human.
I was at my worst and only God can heal me.
@@shannyyymae if I may ask you, kanino ang loyalty mo? Religion or kay God? You told me I should've dug deeper, While I was a Catholic and in deep pain... I did, i sought Jesus deeper than I thought, I delved deeper and how did do that? I went to His Words! I saw my sins, I saw the wrongdoings of my previous religions and other religions.
I am following Jesus Christ not Catholicism not even a Pastor. I listened to Sound Pastors, those who teach repentance and wages of sins. Those who teach that ONLY Jesus is the way to salvation, no other name above His name! No other Gods... I am listening to bible-based teachings online. Reading His words, praying to Him daily without the tag of Catholicism. I am a Christian, and proud to say that I was once lost and now I am found.
Its clear that your comment is to judge me without even knowing what I went through and how I come know Christ and decided to leave my religion. It is my free will to Follow God and leave my religion. And i will not return, I will die with my faith in Jesus alone not with my religious actions or affiliations.
I was certain they would "get me!"
At age 21 I humbled myself and opened my heart to Jesus.
Thanks for sharing! What a powerful testimony!
Glory to God blessed be the name of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth

Catholics are right that ray teaches a false gospel
@@cfG21 Please stop twisting the verse. That is not talking about water baptism. Jesus claimed to be the living water. You are born again by believing in Jesus Christ (John 3:16)
I agree that a christian should be baptized but its not for salvation at all.

Amen.
Keep it up Ray, you are doing a good thing ! God Bless You.

Never going to be a lukewarm Christian again. It’s nice to keep a healthy respectful fear of God, and not imagine him into some cuddly figure of our imagination.

As a fellow Catholic, I agree. I always see Protestant, Orthodox & Catholic Christians fighting each other under Christian related posts or videos, while instead we should unite to fight against the evil one by sharing the Gospel with the world.

@getrit3007I’m sure he didn’t any longer…

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
God bless Ray Comfort, for his boldness for preaching God's word with anyone and everyone in Jesus Christ precious Name Amen.
John 3:5
5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit - words of Jesus Christ
Water and Spirit = baptism.
If you deny baptism to be born agaon then you deny Jesus Christ.
Catholics are right that ray teaches a false gospel
Ray is a man after Gods heart and is a fisher of men! Thank you for Gods word within your heart and pure heart!
Look at "Lord's Prayer". God will forgive you if you forgive your trespassers"
If any of u read the gospel of John, you would recognise JESUS GAVE HIS DISCIPLES AUTHORITY TO FORGIVE SINS.
@@KiKiChamp123 "And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease." It doesn't says anything about forfiving sins.
Thank you Ray for sharing this.
Loved Ray’s comeback on why Ray won’t debate the Catholic You tuber, “It’s like debating someone who thinks the sun is made of ice”. That was Classic 👍👍👍👍
That's not a good comeback. If Ray truly believes Catholicism is wrong, he should debate, or at least respond, to a well-educated Catholic
Then it should be remarkably easy for someone like Ray to debate him and demonstrate why Catholicism is wrong, yet he won't do it. Is he scared?
Hardened heart. If you want to spread falsehoods about the Church, at least be so gracious to listen to 10 minutes of a serious Catholic apologist before doing so. You will do all of us a favor -- most of all yourself.
@@ianmiller07he did respond, look at the pinned comment
Love you Ray, you are awesome. I just got my Evidence Study Bible yesterday. Keep up the good work and guard your faith. God Bless you and may He impart even more Discernment upon you.
I didn’t even know The Catholic Church had such a dark history, and that’s honestly sad. God (Yahweh) bless you, Ray!
weren't protestants involved in slavery ?
If I remember correctly that’s why the Protestants made “separation of church and state”
@@DizzeeY Yeah
Do a little research about the Spanish inquisition. It is horrifying.
As a Protestant myself, I know that most of them were not true. Both Protestants and Catholics were involved in heavy propaganda wars as Israel-Palestine is doing.
thank you Ray for sharing God's word and making it easy for us to understand how to be saved. You are a world treasure!
My 17 aunts and uncles, and my father are Catholic. They see the light of Jesus in me, but are deaf to the gospel. Their faith is in their catholic upbringing. Please pray that the light will seep through past their blinded eyes. 😢
I was Catholic and am the oldest of 11 children. My mom and late father could not accept the gospel. My youngest sister says she accepted the gospel but only God knows for sure. I feel your pain 😢
Catholics accept the Gospel. What are some of your questions about Catholicism?
Ray Comfort, I am sorry, but you have so much humor in your editing in this video! Couldn’t help but laugh at these cutaways and edits! You are so lighthearted and gentle with others despite the conversation topic. I pray for you brother!
On a more serious note, I was born and raised Catholic my entire life. Got saved and became born again in 2018. Religion won’t save you, only a true relationship with God can! God bless! 😊
